We went to Dantes for our second night in Verona. It looks like an upscale place and with tablecloths on the tables and decent crystal wine glasses. We had some prosecco to start- very nice - and took our time to decide. The menu is a reasonable size and everything looked tempting. We all ended up taking three courses - we thought these would be small plates! However each course was sizeable and I think two would be more than sufficient. I had tuna three ways to start- tuna sashimi, seared tuna with sesame and tuna carpaccio- all delicious. My second plate was a local speciality- risotto with amarone wine. It was delicious although again quite a large portion. My final course was lamb chope which were my least favourite course- they tasted odd. One of my dining companions also chose this and he wasnt crazy about his lamb either. We drank a lovely Lugana white and Ripasso from Tommasi- both delicious. I had tiramisu to finish- delicious and lovely espresso. We were treated so I didn't see the bill. I would say its expensive but the food is superb. The service is very professional and the restaurant is lovely. Its well worth a visit while you are visiting Verona if you fancy a Michelin-style dining experience
