I have booked the smallest hotel room, so I cannot complain much. Well the room is really small. It cannot fit chairs into the hotel room. Fitting 2 luggages is tough too. But everything else is great. The toilets and hotel rooms are clean. They offer free laundry facilities as well. It looks super pretty too!

I absolutely loved the stay here. The Staff was super friendly and helpful. The place was spotlessly clean thanks to the cleaners who did their out oat beat every single day. There were great showers and actual good mattresses on the bed. And then you have the nice view of the lake. What more can I say.

The female dorm room (4) was awesome. There were plenty of outlets to charge devices, plenty of storage for each person's luggage, comfy and spotless beds, and the room was super warm in winter! The hostel is quiet and modern, with gorgeous views across Lake Tekapo and a brilliant lounge with beanbags and sofas overlooking the view. The staff were super lovely and helpful. The bathrooms and kitchen were very clean. The location is right in the centre of the town near to the supermarket and Dark Sky Project centre.

We were back in Tekapo to try our luck again with the Dark Sky Project and chose to stay at the MacKenzie Suites this year - wish I had found them last year as they are lovely! We had an amazing view of the lake and location is great - a short drive or medium walk down to the town. We loved the gas fire that covered the bedroom and the living room. Super comfy couch and the wee kitchen had everything we needed. There is a washing machine and dryer in the room and off street parking. The view of the night sky is also excellent with very little light pollution. The bathroom is great with underfloor heating, big walk-in shower and deep bath for soaking in. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Easy check in, very friendly, accommodating staff. Mantra was perfect for a family stay. There was plenty of room for the family, a good outside space and the garage in the middle of winter was fantastic. The upstairs heating in the bedrooms was amazing. However downstairs - main living, tv, kitchen, dining room was freezing. The gas fire was ineffective in the negative temperatures and even with an extra heater (which we requested), we were cold when downstairs. They have everything needed for a stay - full kitchen, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. Staff were great.

A nice place to stay. Had a lake view room with bath, which was great. Had stayed around ten year ago and it has recently been refurbished. Bed super comfy and warm. It has heating but no aircon, so would be very warm during January February unless there was a good breeze blowing. Isabella on reception went above and beyond in sorting out wifi issue that some of us guests were experiencing which turned out to be an update issue from their providers. There is a garage for the guests, and there are no better parking conditions. Breakfast is not available, there is kitchen cooker, you can buy it at a nearby supermarket and you can make your favorite breakfast. Although it is not at the lake but the balcony living room has a panoramic lake view, it is beautiful! And unlike the lakeside visitors are too noisy. It is very quiet here, and you can find the best stargazing spot on a small slope at night. I only intended to pass by for a night, and I only felt that the time was short. The little sheep at the door are easy for the guests to find. The small accessories at home can be seen that the owner is very interesting. I can't find anything to complain about. Hard to find is that if there is a clock on the living room wall, it can be easy to see the time.

Great location, just a short walk to the church of the good shepherd and a similar length walk over the bridge into the town centre. Cosy rooms once you’ve put the heaters on! The heaters are very effective luckily as it can get pretty cold here. We stayed in the Rowan cottage which had the main cottage and two sleep out style cottages. Worked well for our family.

We chose the upstairs family room with a view, we were not disappointed, a view straight down the lake, wow. The beds were comfortable, we had enough room for all of us, kitchen was adequate and the large bathroom was good. The lady in reception was very helpful with recommendations for dinner, breakfast, activities not just in Tekapo but around the MacKenzie Country. We have recommended this place to family and friends already, you will not be disappointed.
