A visit to Wat Pariwat
Wat Pariwat is the perfect place to visit because it offers a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok. Nestled within the city, this temple provides a tranquil oasis where visitors can relax and rejuvenate amidst beautiful surroundings. The stunning Thai architecture, adorned with vibrant colours and intricate details, captivates the senses and offers a glimpse into Thailand's rich cultural heritage.
Wat Pariwat is special for several reasons. You will find unique architecture, celebrity connections ( a David Beckham mural was painted on one of its walls), a tranquil environment and many more.
There is a hidden eatery place, right behind the temple facing the Chao Phraya river with good food. Look for Som Tam Wat Pariwat for its famous fried chicken and Som Tam
How to go there: -
From Chong Nonsi BTS station walk to Chong Nonsi Skywalk to Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Sathorn station. Ride any of the buses for 6 stops. Alight at Wat Pariwat Station and you will see the temple right in front.

Bangkok Travel | What? The Disney family huddles for warmth, Thai temples are too fantastic!
🕍There are thousands of temples in Thailand, but only this one makes me exclaim after I went, the aesthetic art is online, the Disney family huddles for warmth, it seems that only the locals know. Approaching Wat Pariwat, this temple, known as the "David Beckham Temple", is definitely a brilliant pearl of Bangkok temples. Remember a song called "Poetry Water Snake Mountain Temple", which describes here too aptly. If you haven't heard it, go listen!
🛕After fiercely competing with the tourist army for the photo angle of the Golden Buddha, you might as well take a taxi and go to this unique place by the Chao Phraya River. In my words, I chose the morning of the last day of the trip, without arranging other activities, purely citywalk. When taking a taxi, even the driver was wondering, why are you going to such a niche temple? I said, because I want to explore new elements.
🕌The temple decoration seems to be built according to the motto "more is more". Brilliant colors, strange materials (crystals, gold, pearls, etc.) and wild character images are intertwined into a visual feast that is overwhelming. However, upon closer observation, it is found that these decorations are far from traditional Thai temples: is this the place where Albert Einstein stares?
⛩️The open area is mainly the main altar. There are lecturers in the morning, communicating with the locals next to them. The reason why this temple is interesting is because from football superstar David Beckham to cute Pikachu, to Albert Einstein, Winnie the Pooh, Captain America and Mickey Mouse, of course, superheroes Captain America, Batman, Popeye are all in this temple. Found a place to stay. This is both a religious place and a clever combination of art and pop culture references, making people feel a different kind of sacredness and joy in the temple.
👸Walking around the temple, I found more and more weird features. Hidden in the hodgepodge of Indian gods, goddesses, Chinese species, Japanese warriors and Buddhist figures in mythology, whether it is Disney characters or panda emoticons, these challenges jokingly called "Wat Pariwat Bingo" allow tourists to find all the features in the temple. Fun.
🏗️According to the staff of the temple, the original intention of the establishment of this temple was to stimulate the imagination of the younger generation. There are two buildings still under construction in the square of the temple. Although surrounded by scaffolding and building materials, it has become a tourist spot worth visiting.
🗾When I went, the second temple was carving paintings, and it should be fully presented this year. A little spoiler, the scene of Tang Seng carrying his four disciples will also appear in it.
🈯️Currently, 3 temples are mainly displayed for viewing, and the back hall will be opened later.
🎫Ticket: Free
🕙Opening hours: 8 am to 6 pm
🚗Transportation: The taxi fare from the city center (Sukhumvit or Sathorn) is 80 to 150 baht.
👉Take the BRT from Chong Nonsi BTS station, cross the bridge to the BRT terminal, buy a ticket (15 baht), and then take the bus downstairs. It is about 15 minutes away from Wat Pariwat station.
⚠️Note: Although there are interesting sculptures here, please dress appropriately and respect those who come to pray.
Here, tradition and modernity, religion and humor are cleverly blended, showing the diversity and inclusiveness of Thai culture. Looking for miracles, leaving smiles, what Wat Pariwat brings to us is not only a colorful mosaic, but also a place of discovery for the new journey of Bangkok.

Temple of Superheroes and Mythical Creatures!🇹🇭
#timetotravel
This temple may seem just like any other temple that you see but this is actually very different as it has superheroes and mythical creatures included in the architecture of the temples. Interesting isn't it? You can actually spot superman, pikkachu, Pinocchio, Mickey Mouse and so much more. They also call this temple as "David Beckham" temple because apparently David Beckham was also intricately sculpted there. How can I miss that? Now you know and when you get there please do inspect more and enjoy yourself ! No entrance fee here but I encourage you to donate some money. Surely this will become a memorable temple visit in your life!
