#Toba Aquarium Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Toba Aquarium
Very nice aquarium with a lot of different (sub) tropical species living in and around the waters in that part of the world. They even had some artic inhabitants like walruses, penguins and sea lions. Mostly everything is located within the aquarium itself but there are some outside displays as well.
It is a rather big aquarium, however with excellent indications and signs where everything was to be found. Also two large restaurants were available to the public.
They also had an amazing souvenir shop.
As could be expected a favourite place for families with smaller kids.

Toba, the aquarium is a serious walk
this is surrounded by the sea, many towns scattered like pearls on the winding coastline, where the largest indoor aquarium in Japan - Toba Aquarium is located. Many people don't know that Toba's aquarium is one of the most abundant animals! There are about 1,200 species of ocean and river animals, which is why we are attracted to see it.
The museum reproduces the scenes of the sea and rivers such as "Ise Shima Sea" and "Ancient Sea" according to eleven topics. The Toba Aquarium is divided into twelve exhibition halls according to the type of life and habitat, making it one of the largest aquariums in the world. The Toba Aquarium does not have a designated order of visits, making it exceptionally easy to visit. Time is limited, so we picked a few key exhibition halls to focus on.
The sea of mermaid, showing the treasure of the town hall of the bird language aquarium - dugong. It is one of the only four dugongs captured in the world, and the only one in Japan, extremely precious. Therefore, the bird's-eye aquarium's publicity photos, tickets around, etc. have its presence!
Black and white dolphins, like the dugongs, are rare marine animals raised by the Toba Aquarium. The black and white dolphins are small in size, swim fast, and have a flexible posture to chase in the aquarium. The
roaming coral reef is the "postcard angle" of the Toba Aquarium. The beautiful fish are leisurely around, swimming overhead, making people feel the illusion of diving in the coral reef, this immersive design Really great!
To the triple, you must go to the Toba Aquarium, where there are many lovely marine animals. The Toba Aquarium is located in the beachfront area of Toba City, Mie Prefecture, and is a ten minute walk from Kintetsu. Built in 1955, the aquarium has a long history and is one of the largest indoor aquariums in the world.
Here you can see the smiling finless porpoise, the super cute seal, the legend of the mermaid legend Dugong, the lively black and white dolphins, the joyful and humorous sea lion show...
Toba Aquarium
In fact, the aquariums of large and small have not gone to a few, but it is only to know that Toba is the most attractive aquarium in Japan! The Toba Aquarium has 12 exhibition areas, which are divided according to the species and habitat of the creatures. At the entrance are two huge aquariums with colorful tropical fish swimming inside. It's just that you can't be confused by this appetizer. The highlight of the Toba Aquarium is a wonderful performance of various sea beasts. It takes more than two hours to finish watching their performances.
