Ancient Egyptian god
Horus One of my favorite statues at the Egyptian Museum &
A Horus, the falcon god, was the helper of Ra and symbolized the powers of the Pharaoh during most of Egyptian history.
After avenging the death of his father, Osiris, he inherited the right to rule over the land of Egypt and went on to become one of the most important gods in the Egyptian pantheon 🗿#newyearadventure #2023travelwish #tripblazers

Getting There - I used an Uber to get here and bought the ticket myself and explored the museum myself . This is a sign for you to trust Uber when in Cairo .
Attractions - Very ancient Artefacts that go way way back , they are very beautiful and well preserved . The most beautiful one for me was the clear see through coffin that was used to bury the kings , it was covered in cold and many beautiful colours.
Hotels - I stayed at the Al Masa hotel , which is beyond lovely .
Food & Restaurants - I did a walking tour of Cairo city centre and got the opportunity to taste some local food .
Shopping - You can spend some time at the museum to buy some small gifts for friends and family in the museum shop .

Nested near the Tahrir Square where the 2011 revolution happened, the Egyptian Museum can be accessed through one of the side streets in between the hotels.
The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, known commonly as the Egyptian Museum or the Cairo Museum, is home to an extensive collection of ancient Egyptian antiquities. It has 120,000 items, with a representative amount on display and the remainder in storerooms.
The museum showcases many mummies and burial artefacts. It also hosts a detailed exposition with the actual King Tutankhamun’s sarcophagus and belongings including the famous burial golden mask.

Breathtaking, your heart beat will stop!
I am passionate of Egyptian culture and I read many stories about Egypt. I have been fortunate to visit Cairo for myself and it has been a life experience. After visiting the pyramids and other places around, I wasn’t sure if Cairo Museum was going to be that fascinating. IT IS!! I totally recommend you to invest your money and time in this place because it is worth it. It is amazing how things got preserve. You can see the mummies, pendants, tombs, sculptures. The museum is very well prepare with little cards to help you discover more about it and if you want to get deeper you can always get and audio guide or a local guide at the entrance. Personally, I am looking forward to go back there.

The Egyptian Museum.
The Egyptian Museum is the one of the oldest archaeological museum with the largest collection of antiquities in Cairo. It is a historic landmark in downtown, which makes it really easy to get there either by taxy or walking if you stay in nearby hotels. The collection is huge so you might want to spend three or four hours if you want to read specific details. It is a big place, colourful and with a beautiful architecture. After the visit, you can also enjoy some shopping or nice food as there are many restaurants and shops around the area. This museum is home to some of the world’s most magnificent ancient masterpieces that you must see in person. It opens to the public everyday from 9am to 7pm.

Day at the museum
A classic museum housing rich Egyptian artifacts from the pyramids and various temples from the environs. It's located in the heart of the city right near Tahir square and it is a very interesting site where you can see famous pieces such as the Mask of Tutankhamun (no pictures allowed).
There is an admission fee but it's worth it and you can even pay one of the many guides at the doors to show you the main pieces while offering good descriptions as the interior can be a maze of sorts and without proper guidance you can miss certain must sees. The artifacts are absolutely beautiful and the detail and colors of each piece is absolutely a joy to take in. Although there are many pieces being moved to the new Egyptian Museum next to the pyramids, there is still a rich selection of artifacts that will occupy a good portion of your morning or afternoon. It is also an incredible opportunity to come up close to things that you read about on history books so definitely make time to visit this museum, you won't regret it!

A treasure trove of the Pharaonic world, Cairo's Egyptian Museum is one of the world's great museum collections. The faded pink mansion in downtown Cairo is home to a dazzling amount of exhibits.
It's a higgledy-piggledy place, with little labeling on offer and chronological order severely lacking, but that's half of its old-school charm.
The museum's two highlight collections are the haul of golden treasures unearthed from Tutankhamen's tomb in the Valley of the Kings and the fascinating Royal Mummies exhibit room.
Every corner you turn here, though, is home to some wonderful piece of ancient art or statuary that would form a highlight of any other museum.

Seven Wonders
The last surviving of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, the Pyramids of Giza are one of the world's most recognizable landmarks.
Having awed travelers down through the ages, these tombs of the Pharaohs Cheops (Khufu), Chephren (Khafre), and Mycerinus (Menkaure), guarded by the enigmatic Sphinx, are usually top of most visitor's lists of tourist attractions to see in Egypt and often the first sight they head to after landing.
Today, sitting on the desert edge of Cairo's sprawl, these megalithic memorials to dead pharaohs are still as wondrous a sight as they ever were and an undeniable highlight of any Egypt trip.

Egypt's most mysterious museum, unveil the millennium pharaoh veil! The museum has a collection of 250,000 cultural treasures of Egypt. Friends say that even if we visit for two days and two nights, we have to go see it.
Stepping into the main building, a thick atmosphere mixed with historical turmoil came. The most outstanding thing is that Tutankhamun is displayed with funeral objects. The golden bed, the golden chair, the golden rod, and the golden glory!
The pharaoh is quietly lying in a constant temperature and humidity glass box. When everything is dusty, even if it is left behind, it is empty.
Tips: The Egyptian museum is not big as it is only two floors, but the collection is rich and compact. If it is not clear; you can accompany the tour guide at the door; the ticket price is 350 lbs/person. If you need to take a photo, pay a photo charge.

The oldest museum in Africa, face to face with mummies! Unveiling the mysterious veil of Pharaoh
The Egyptian Museum is known as the Pride of Cairo. It is like a Treasure Island, full of treasures, vast and vast. My friend and I first came here, lost in the cultural relics, and turned to lost the road.
Pure gold enamel with glaze and ivory, god whip scepter and visceral snow can, wearing a sacred snake like a pharaoh statue wearing a gold skirt, 4700 years of vivid papyrus painting... Tens of thousands of treasures are private, just like this millennium old city, sometimes faint and sometimes bleak.
Tips: Before 9:00 am and after 3 pm, the museum has a small flow of people and the largest number of visitors at noon; if you want to take photos or take photos, remember to buy a photo coupon in advance (there will be staff to check) ticket). The most wonderful golden masks and golden dragonflies are on the second floor. If you don't want to line up, you can stroll upstairs.

The Egyptian Museum is located near the Liberation Square in downtown Cairo and was designed and built by the famous French archaeologist Marie in 1863. The whole museum is divided into upper and lower floors. More than 300,000 pieces of exhibits show people the civilization of ancient Egypt. When the items of thousands of years ago appear so completely in front of your eyes, you will not be able to sigh, the wisdom of the ancient people!

Splendid Civilization Tutankhamun | Egyptian Museum
The Egyptian Museum (Museum of Egyptian Antiquities), located beside Liberation Square in Cairo, the capital of Egypt, was designed and built in 1858 by the renowned French archaeologist and 'father of the Egyptian Museum,' Mariette, and officially opened to the public in 1902. It is one of the world's famous museums.
The museum houses over 300,000 historical artifacts from the Pharaonic era of ancient Egypt to the 6th century AD, of which 63,000 items are on display, approximately one-fifth of the total collection. As the museum mainly features artifacts from the Pharaonic period, it is also known as the 'Pharaoh's Museum'.
📝Note tips:
The artifacts unearthed from Tutankhamun's tomb are the treasures of the Egyptian Museum and are not to be missed.

Egyptian Museum | Artifacts are simply placed everywhere
| Artifacts are simply placed everywhere.📝 The Egyptian National Museum is one of the must-visit attractions in Cairo. As the most famous museum in Egypt, it displays countless artifacts spanning from the ancient Egyptian to the Roman period.
📍Address: The museum is located at Liberation Square, Google Maps can navigate directly, there is a parking lot, and the subway can also get there.
📍Tickets: 450 Egyptian pounds, cannot be paid in cash directly, but you can find someone at the entrance to swipe a credit card for you.
📍Time: 9:00-17:00
📝 The Egyptian Museum houses over 120,000 artifacts, which were founded in 1858 by the Frenchman Mariette. The museum is divided into two floors, displaying relics and exhibits from the ancient Egyptian period to the Roman rule era.
1️⃣ The first floor of the museum mainly displays general artifacts from ancient Egypt, divided into three major parts according to chronological order: the New Kingdom, the Middle Kingdom, and the Old Kingdom, spanning from around 1550 to 1069 BC, including statues, tables, sarcophagi, columns, and relief walls.
2️⃣ The second floor has different exhibition rooms, displaying the most precious artifacts, among which the treasures of the museum such as Tutankhamun's golden mask, anthropoid gold coffins, and the golden throne are located here.
📝 The interior of the museum is not large, but the sheer number of artifacts on display is breathtaking, with many artifacts simply placed around without any protective measures.
📝 If you are interested in Egyptian culture, you can spend a good half day here. Ordinary visitors should be able to tour in about 3 hours. If you want to see more details, you can watch some documentaries in advance as homework, and hire a guide, although the quality of the guides is entirely a matter of luck.
📝 Another thing to note is that the mummies in the Egyptian Museum have all been moved to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, so if you want to see the mummies, you'll have to visit another museum.

Journey to Egypt
Day 1: We arrived in Cairo. Since there was no check-in arranged in the morning, we decided to take a Cairo city walk. We visited City Stars, which is the largest mall in Africa. The variety of goods was dazzling and overwhelming.
Day 2: We set off at four in the morning to Siwa. After a 10-hour journey, we visited the Shali market. The souvenirs here are all handmade and very meaningful. I suggest everyone buy as much as possible because these souvenirs cannot be found elsewhere. Later, we visited the Cleopatra spring, which is said to be where the Queen of Egypt once bathed. In the evening, we went to Fetnas Island to enjoy the beautiful sunset and tasted the fresh milk with dates juice, which was very delicious. The scenery here is also very suitable for taking photos.
Day 3: In the morning, we went to the salt lake and prepared swimsuits and sunscreen in advance. In the afternoon, we headed to the Sahara Desert to experience the fun of dune bashing and sand sliding. At night, we camped in the desert, tasted the campfire evening tea, and enjoyed an unforgettable desert journey.
Day 4: Our group departed from Siwa to Matrouh. The journey was long and tedious. If time permits, I suggest staying in Matrouh for one night to enjoy the local customs. In the evening, we had a seafood feast, but the taste was just average.
Day 5: Our itinerary was quite tight. We first visited the Giza Pyramid Complex and the Sphinx, and even rode on local camels. In the afternoon, we visited the Egyptian Museum and the Khalili market. Due to the tight schedule, I suggest splitting these two attractions into separate visits to avoid an overly hectic schedule. In the evening, we ended our journey in Cairo Luxor.

Just returned from Cairo, listen to my real feelings
-
The internet is full of stories about how Egypt's tourism is full of scams and fraudsters. I've compiled my experiences from the past 2 days in Cairo to help you understand their tricks.
·
1⃣️The landing visa is 25 US dollars, don't listen to others at the airport saying it's 60
2⃣️Many bathrooms in Cairo charge a fee, 5-10 Egyptian pounds
3⃣️Bathrooms, including those at Cairo airport and the Egyptian Museum, may not have water to flush, be prepared, bring your own tissues
4⃣️Pay attention to the signs at the bathroom door, if it says free, don't pay anyone who asks for money
5⃣️Baggage claim, currency exchange, and phone card services are all in the same place at the airport
6⃣️I've heard there are many issues with phone cards, I used roaming, 10r a day is not expensive
7⃣️Try to visit the Pyramids and the Sphinx in the morning, the temperature in October is not high and there's a cool breeze
8⃣️It's not necessary to go inside the Great Pyramid of Khufu, it's hard to climb and there's nothing to see
9⃣️Arrange a lunch at the 9 Pyramids Lounge, where you can eat while looking at the pyramids, remember to book in advance
1⃣️0⃣️The Egyptian Museum has no air conditioning, the restaurants outside sell expensive water, remember to bring a bottle of water
1⃣️1⃣️Tour groups usually arrange to go to the museum in the afternoon, I suggest going in the morning and taking your time, the bathrooms charge a fee
1⃣️2⃣️You must visit the oasis in the desert, 'Al-Azhar Park', where you can take city photos with the pyramids in the background
1⃣️3⃣️Have a meal at the Citadel View Restaurant where you can see the Al-Aziz Mosque, it's amazing both during the day and at night
1⃣️4⃣️Prices in Egypt, Coke is 9 Egyptian pounds, 600ml water is 6 Egyptian pounds, near the attractions Coke is 100 Egyptian pounds
1⃣️5⃣️Egyptian license plates and roadside stall price tags are in Arabic numerals, be prepared to have a comparison chart saved on your phone
1⃣️6⃣️If any Egyptian talks to you in the scenic area, pretend you don't understand, they're basically all scammers, they charge for taking photos/helping with directions
1⃣️7⃣️Walking around the Al-Halili market at night really gives you a feeling of 'One Thousand and One Nights', but be careful not to get your bag stolen
1⃣️8⃣️I suggest staying in a five-star hotel, then you won't have problems like no hair dryer, no toiletries, no bottled water, it will improve your happiness in Egypt
1⃣️9⃣️Don't stay in the old city, especially in homestays near the pyramids, the old city is really run-down, it feels a bit unsafe at night
2⃣️0⃣️I suggest women come in groups, or join a tour
2⃣️1⃣️Egypt is a tipping country, hotel tips are 10 Egyptian pounds/day, they charge tips for delivering luggage, I suggest doing it yourself

The Egyptian Museum is a must-visit in this lifetime
Located in downtown Cairo, on the east bank of the Nile, it opened in the early 20th century and has a history of over a hundred years. Thanks to the long history of ancient Egypt, the museum's collection of cultural relics is exceptionally precious and rich, with all kinds of statues, murals, artworks, daily utensils, papyrus documents, and more.
Moreover, the museum building itself can be considered a precious cultural relic. When it was built a hundred years ago, it certainly didn't anticipate the large number of visitors it has today. Surprisingly, the building does not have air conditioning and relies on natural ventilation, but it does not make people feel particularly stuffy.
Nowadays, Egypt has built the Grand Egyptian Museum and the Museum of Egyptian Civilization to share the burden of exhibition. The cultural relics are being moved gradually, but the treasures of the museum, the mask of Tutankhamun and related exhibits, are still here and are very worth visiting.

Egyptian Museum
Located in Cairo, the Egyptian Museum displays ancient artifacts excavated from all over Egypt. Apart from those scattered overseas, this is the most comprehensive exhibition of Egyptian artifacts, although there is an additional fee for taking photos inside. Nonetheless, it is still worth a visit.
