#Ponagar Temple Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Tháp Bà Ponagar
#vietnam Po Nagar Cham Towers is a must-see for anyone visiting Nha Trang. The complex is a beautiful and historic site that offers stunning views of the city.
Specifically, here are my thoughts on the temple complex:
History and culture: Po Nagar Cham Towers is a fascinating example of Cham architecture and culture. The towers were built between the 7th and 12th centuries, and they are dedicated to the goddess Po Nagar. The complex is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and it is a valuable resource for learning about the Cham people.
Location: Po Nagar Cham Towers is located in a beautiful setting on a hill overlooking the city of Nha Trang. The towers are surrounded by lush vegetation, and they offer stunning views of the city, the sea, and the surrounding mountains.
Views: The views from the top of the towers are simply stunning. You can see the entire city of Nha Trang, the South China Sea, and the surrounding mountains. It is a truly breathtaking sight.
THAP BA PONAGAR - Nha Trang
Getting There - Ponagar Tower is a Cham Pa temple located on top of a small hill at the mouth of the Cai River, Nha Trang. Ponagar Tower is located just 2km north of the city center. Many people often mistakenly think that the name "Po Nagar" refers to the entire architecture here, but in fact this is the name of the largest tower (about 23m high). Ponagar Tower is considered a prominent architectural feature in the brilliant period of Hinduism.
Attractions - Po Nagar Tower was built to worship Queen Po Ina Nagar, known to the Vietnamese as Thien Y Thanh Mau Ana, the deity created from clouds and sea foam. The Cham people believe that she is the creator of the Earth, producing precious wood, trees and rice.
Up to now, Ba Po Nagar tower in Nha Trang is the largest Champa complex in Vietnam. This work is divided into 3 areas: Gate Tower, Mandapa (vestibular area) and Temple Tower. Due to historical changes, there are currently only 5 architectural works concentrated in the area of Mandapa and Temple Tower.
At Ba Po Nagar tower, Ba Po Nagar tower festival is also held on March 20 to 23 of the lunar calendar every year. This festival has great spiritual significance for the Cham people and is held very solemnly. In particular, at the festival, you will have the opportunity to see the typical ball dances of the Cham people, dances only offered to the mother (Mrs. Thien Y) every holiday.

Po Nagar Cham Towers - Nha Trang, Vietnam
Perhaps the most popular attraction in Nha Trang, after Winpearl Amusement Park and Long Son Pagoda, is the ancient Po Nagar Cham Towers, which are more than a thousand years old.
Cham towers are a small green well-groomed area and functioning temples, where not only Buddhist ceremonies, but also the rites of ancient ancestors take place to this day. Po Nagar Cham Tower is one of the surviving evidence of the powerful Cham state that dominated Vietnam in the period from the 7th to the 17th centuries.
The complex consists of four towers, the largest of which is dedicated to the goddess Ponagar, who taught people crafts and agriculture. The pediment of the tower is decorated with the image of the goddess, and inside there is a statue of her. All the towers are well restored, the facades are decorated with various figures of gods, geese, etc.
Opening Hours: 07:30 – 17:00 daily
Location: 2 Thang 4, at the end of Xom Bong (Xóm Bóng) Bridge

Missing our Holidays #2: Nha Trang, Vietnam
*Cover image is Ponagar Tower at 61 Hai Tháng Tư, Vĩnh Phước, Thành phố Nha Trang, Khánh Hòa 650000, Vietnam*
Back in Summer 2018, we travelled to Vietnam as a family. Although we do regret staying in a resort, and not experiencing enough of Vietnam, as my brother and I were younger children back then, we did enjoy staying at Diamond Bay Resort and Spa, on the outskirts of Nha Trang (so we were able to enjoy peace and the beach and pool at the Resort).
If in Nha Trang, you should visit the VinPearl Amusement & Water Park.
I’d love to visit again so I can stay somewhere else and get more out of the culture there…. If you have any suggestions of places to visit in Nha Trang (or Vietnam as a whole) please do let me know :)

I am sure that I must be a good father, because I have looked after my baby mice for a whole day in Po Nagar, it was really not easy!
Po Nagar Cham Tower, also translated as the Temple of Heavenly Goddess, because it is dedicated to the goddess of the Chinese fishermen (Po Nagar). Built in the 7th and 12th centuries, this tower is a representative of Hinduism. It has some styles of Angkor Wat, but it is much smaller. After more than a thousand years, only the remaining four buildings were more completely preserved. There is also a small exhibition hall next to the tower group, which displays sculptures like the god Ganesh. Now come here to visit, not only Vietnamese, but also many local Chinese, when you enter the door, don't forget to take off your shoes. Looking down from the Cham Tower on the hill, you can see the blue harbor of Nha Trang.
The Po Nagar Cham Tower is a goddess who hides the southern part of the Cham Kingdom and protects the fishermen who eat by the sea. Entering the Po Nagar Cham Tower is the first 22 pillars standing on the platform. Follow the path on the side to the top platform. It is the main building of the Po Nagar Cham Tower. The entire Po Nagar Cham Tower is a play. The hour is enough.
On the second floor platform, enjoy the comfortable sea breeze, enjoy the beautiful scenery of Nha Trang Harbour, there is a canteen on the side, buy a coconut drink, you can also ask the store to spoon to dig coconut meat after drinking.
The Po Nagar Cham Tower was built between the 7th and 12th centuries. It was dedicated to the fishermen who protect the sea by praying to the goddess of heaven. They say that this is Xiao Ang, but the scale is small and not so refined. Mottled stone bricks, exotic customs, and the things left by the Vietnamese ancestors are also a cultural treasure of the world. Even if you don't understand the culture here, you will be amazed by the beliefs people have here. I felt very fond of looking at the building outside the door. I felt very exotic. When I entered it, I felt that the building was very old. There were still bodhisattvas in the small door. I went in to light up an incense stick and worship Buddha and I had to take off my shoes before I could go in. Some the devouted people can go inside every room. English name: Po Nagar Cham Towers Location: 2 Thang 4, Nha Trang, Vietnam Tickets: 22,000 VND Tips: You need to wear specific clothes, covering your whole body when you go in, if you wear too short or too tight clothes, you can borrow the robes provided by the scenic spot.
After coming to Nha Trang, I found that this is like a modern city. It looks like a modern cross-sea bridge and department store. I finally got rid of the dirty mess in Hanoi and the town style of Hoi An~
Champo Temple, the sun is shining, everything must be better!
Champo is a Hindu architecture. Some of the taste of Angkor Wat, but the scale is very small, there are two rows of pillars in front of the front hall, behind the three stupas, there is no, and the carving is not very fine, and certainly not comparable to Angkor Wat. However, since the sun is shining, it still makes people feel good. Standing at the top of the Cham Tower to see the face of Nha Trang, I still find it very interesting.
Ponagar Temple
#vietnamtrip An interesting historic landmark, heavily restored and very crowded with hordes of tourists, mostly Korean and Russian, when I was there in the early evening. While I believe there are more interesting Cham ruins in other parts of the country this ruin is remarkable for its easy accessibility and excellent vantage point overlooking the city, the fishing harbor below and the ocean nearby. A couple of religious shrines are visible on the islands below, as well.
Ponagar Temple
#vietnamtrip I enjoyed the visiting of this beautiful Temple. Amazing place to make great memories. There was also a little show with traditional dances and music, very lovely. If you like you get there also coconut to drink, if you never try before in fresh, I recommend to you it’s so delicious. We loved it. It's beautiful. Tranquil and great energy. Small garden to sit for meditation.
Nice view of river with cosy cafe. Great for photography and chilling out.
4000 Dong entrance ticket. There is a car and bike park. Not far from city centre. A must visit.

I was in awe of this historical temple. A few steps to climb to get to the top and once there, you can see the city overlook. Beautiful view from up there. Lots of picnic tables and chairs with shaded trees to keep you cool. You can also get some drinks and snacks from a local vendor and enjoy the view while sitting there and admire the temples. Highly recommend this place.

The thousand-year history of the Cham Towers in Nha Trang
🏯🌳The Po Nagar Cham Towers in Nha Trang, Vietnam (commonly known as the Cham Towers), were built between the 7th and 12th centuries. They are one of the precious relics left from the Champa Kingdom period (Champa; 137-1697 years) and are a thousand-year-old ancient tower. It is a small group of Hindu buildings, known as the Vietnamese version of Angkor Wat, but on a much smaller scale. The deity worshipped here is the Hindu sky goddess, who protects fishermen for a bountiful and safe return from the sea, equivalent to Mazu in the hearts of Chinese fishermen. Vietnamese history is often referred to as the war history between the Yue people in the north and the Cham people in the south, but it is actually a history of the clash between the Han culture in the north and the Indian culture in the south.

Nha Trang, Vietnam is a city located on the southern coast of Vietnam and is a famous seaside resort destination in Vietnam.
The Po Nagar Cham Towers in Nha Trang are a group of ancient Cham temples located near Nha Trang City in central Vietnam's Khanh Hoa Province. These towers are religious buildings from the time of the Cham Kingdom (8th to 15th centuries AD) and were used to worship Hindu and Buddhist deities. Vietnam Nha Trang - a high cost-effective island! Comparable to Sanya.
Want to find an island for vacation and relax!!! But don't want to spend too much money, go to Nha Trang, Vietnam!
1. Low group fees, round-trip airfare and hotel costs to Nha Trang are about 3k per person, and you can stay in a 5-star hotel! It also includes 1-2 days of guided tours, so you don't have to plan your own itinerary or find travel guides.
2. There are many delicious foods, besides seafood, Vietnamese three treasures meal, rice noodles, spring rolls, grilled meat on tiles, drip coffee, and various fruits are all very tasty. You must try the drip coffee, which has an authentic taste and is included for free in the set meal! During free time, find a popular local small restaurant and enjoy a satisfying meal for only a few tens of yuan per person.
3. The hotel's breakfast rice noodles are tastier than those from so-called internet-famous shops. The quality is generally high and you can taste Vietnamese specialties. Moreover, breakfast is included in the tour fee, so you don't need to spend extra money.
4. The water quality in Nha Trang is good, with clear water and visible bottom at Hon Tam Island. The glass bottom boat allows for a clear view of various marine creatures. The water in Nha Trang Bay is as blue and clear as the sky, shimmering with silver light like a brocade, and there are very few people.
5. There is a beautiful sea cable car on Pearl Island, with excellent views and the thrill of soaring through the air. You can enjoy the scenery of the surrounding islands, the speeding ships and cruise ships, and look back at the towering buildings in the city. Suddenly, you will arrive at the Pearl Island Amusement Park. Moreover, the French-style hotels and amusement parks in Nha Trang are truly romantic.
6. The Po Nagar Cham Towers were built between the 7th and 12th centuries and are Hindu architecture. The goddess Yan Po Nagar is worshipped here, protecting the fishermen who rely on the sea for their livelihood, similar to the role of Mazu in the hearts of Chinese fishermen. It has a slight resemblance to the style of Angkor Wat and is a great spot for taking photos.
7. Nha Trang was once a French colony. In addition to coffee architecture, perfume is also a unique feature. Regardless of the brand, the quality of the spices is very good. Buying it for yourself or giving it to friends as a gift is a quality choice.
8. Many small shops sell clothes and hats, which are cheap and good-looking! But remember to bargain.
Nha Trang, Vietnam | The first relaxing trip in 2023 begins.
The center of Nha Trang, Vietnam is quite lively, with large shopping centers, Western restaurants, local snacks, and cafes everywhere. Moreover, most hotels are close to the beach, making it a great place for vacation!
The most classic one is the Nha Trang Four Islands, with activities such as island hopping, visiting the aquarium, snorkeling, and various water activities. For independent travelers, just choose a favorite island and enjoy a leisurely day of fun!
I like Po Nagar Cham Tower in Nha Trang as a tourist spot. The architectural style has a taste of Angkor Wat, but on a much smaller scale. The Po Nagar Cham Tower was built between the 7th and 12th centuries, with three levels, and the highest level contains two rows of towers, with the main tower being 25 meters high. Looking down from the Po Nagar Cham Tower on the small hill, you can see the blue harbor of Nha Trang.
By the way, don't forget to experience Nha Trang's specialty - mud bath.
In Nha Trang, my favorite type of outdoor café is the one where you can have a cup of drip coffee, which is very unique to the local area.

The architectural style of the Shouzhan Potata has a bit of the meaning of Angkor Wat.~
For those who want to worship, remember to take off your shoes when entering, and there are also long skirts available for rent.
From the Cham Tower, you can see Nha Trang's blue harbor. It's also a great spot for taking photos.

Crossing Siem Reap in Nha Trang, the temperament of the temple of the goddess of the goddess of the temperament
Po Nagar Cham Tower Chinese translation, is the Temple of Heavenly Goddess, here is a goddess of the Cham Kingdom, the wind of the entire building The style is like Angkor Wat, which has a wonderfully misplaced feeling in the beautiful Nha Trang.
You can wear a plain dress here, whether it is red or white, it will have a strong contrast with the building, highlighting the elegance of the character. Relying on the wall, or stroking the sculpture, people are as much as one thousand years ago. From time to time there is the sound of drumming, and some people pray and pay homage, everything is so calm.
The Po Nagar Cham Tower is located two kilometers north of the center of Nha Trang. It is located on the hill of Huanggangyan on the north bank of the Nha Trang River. It is the remains of the Champo Temple built in the ninth century. The Po Nagar Cham Tower is a Hindu building, which is dedicated to the fishermen who protect the sea from eating - the goddess of heaven (Panagar). Similar to the Mazu Temple on our side. Inside the
Champo Tower is a statue of Po Nagar. To enter the Cham Tower, you should pay attention to it. The off-the-shoulder, knee-length dress or underwear can not enter the temple. Free gowns are provided outside the temple.
Built between the 7th and 12th centuries, Po Nagar Cham Tower is a Hindu religious building located 2 km north of Nha Trang, on the left bank of the river. Looking down from the hill, you can enjoy the view of the blue harbor. Each tower is a small temple, and you must take off your shoes when you enter the temple, and you need a special dress. There is a free dress next to the temple. In any case, I feel that it is critical to respect local customs. In recent years, there have been more and more people traveling to Nha Trang in China. If someone does not take off their shoes, they will leave a bad impression on the locals. The architecture of
is extremely characteristic. It is said that as early as the 2nd century BC, Hindus built a temple here to worship the Shiva gods. Later, the Kingdom of Poetry built it into a temple dedicated to the goddess of heaven. There are only four temples left, the largest of which is dedicated to the goddess Cham, the mother of the Cham Kingdom who ruled Nha Trang in ancient times. The Hindus called the goddess of the sun, the embodiment of the Hindu Siva. Vietnamese Buddhists call her the goddess of heaven.
The goddess of heaven is the goddess of the southern part of the kingdom of Champo. The goddess of heaven is similar to the mother of the southeast coast of China. Because there are many fishermen here, it has become the goddess of the fishermen.
All the pagodas are brick red, with beautiful reliefs, different shapes and different sizes. This is a very sacred place for the Vietnamese people. If someone climbs the temple, if the staff sees it, it will definitely Stop, so please don't take a few photos to climb the temple, and don't wear shoes to take photos at the door of the temple.
If you dont agree with one word, you will kick your legs! A word of horses came and said, the original family is a dance teacher, really stayed on me to stay ...
my place is here, Vietnam Nha Trang, Po Nagar Cham Tower.
The Po Nagar Cham Tower was built between the 7th and 12th centuries and is a Hindu architecture. It is dedicated to the fishermen who protect the sea by eating the goddess of heaven, which is equivalent to the mother of the Chinese fishermen.
Changpo Tower has some architectural styles of Angkor Wat, but the scale is much smaller and the carving is not so detailed.
Now come here to visit, not only Vietnamese, but also many local Chinese.
For those who have never been to Angkor like me, it is still recommended here. But to appreciate Cham Tower, you still need to know about their culture. Otherwise, it will look like ignorance like me, and I will only take pictures of tourists.
Vietnamese tickets for these attractions are not very expensive, so I have always been interested in whether I am interested or not. If there is a surprise, there are unexpected surprises.
When I went here at noon, the group of tourists left, so there were very few people and it was very suitable for taking pictures.
Tips
When you first arrive in Vietnam, someone will tell you that the history of the war between the Northern Dynasty and the Champo is a cultural history of Vietnams singularity. Here, the Po Nagar Cham Tower, the ancient town of Hoi An here, the Hue King here. The tombs have all left a strong color for Vietnam.
Po Nagar Cham Tower is in the torrent of historical torrents, the big waves and sands survive, the mottled years of traces are undoubtedly reminiscent of the era of passion and war. The Po Nagar Cham Tower was built between the 7th and 12th centuries and belongs to the Hindu architecture. It is also translated as the Temple of Heavenly Goddess, because Po Nagar is worshipped here. The goddess has a strong influence in the kingdom of Champo, and guards the local people who eat by the sea day and night, which is equivalent to the status of our Mazu.
On the Po Nagar Cham Tower, the huge stone pillars on the ground floor are very eye-catching. There are 10 large stone pillars and 12 small stone pillars. The middle of the two pairs is the incense of the offering. Close, the mysterious religious atmosphere guides you step by step to discover and discover.
Po Nagar Cham Tower is known as "Vietnam Angkor Wat", the vivid brick carving, blending into the spires of the clouds, the staggered pillars, the shape is better than the gods. Since the day of its birth, Cham Tower has gone through more than 1,000 years of wind and rain. The glorious tower of the gods of the past has only left a lonely four, and the sighs are sighing.
