Ancestor visit
On the continued quest🤠 in the western ghats, it has led us to explore some deserted trails to find more of our ancestors. This family of monkeys 🐒 specific mostly to Western ghats has been living around here for thousands of years. They do live as a community and always look out for their family. We get a chance to feed some of them, although we gave only natural fruits 🍌 and 🌽 vegetables. Once you reach the top of the Nandi hills, there's a small temple based on Vishnu (India's money god) where you can send your prayers to heaven. If you keep hiking 🥾 a little bit more, there comes the view point of the whole city; making it feel like everything happening around is quite small. Such an enlightenment.😇 #indiatravel #hiking

Fortified !!
In our series of hiking expeditions, as soon as after we were done with Nandi hills🏞️ in Bangalore; we hopped on the local bus to Gandikota, literally known as the Grand Canyon of India. The first sight we had after reaching at the entrance gate is, just around 3 kilometres radius we could see a temple🛕, a mosque🕌 and an ancient british style jail🏚️ that says the whole story how this place has been passed on between kingdoms and it is most coveted one. We started hiking towards the canyon, looking around the local village too. Once you reach the canyon, to go further you have to be cautious with the single rocks 🪨 that have amassed there. Some rocks may topple you, and don't be crazy like me 😝to take a picture standing on a single rock below which it is only straight to the ground of 2500 metres height. With caution apart, overall it is a super fun🥳 place to go with your friends and play around. #indiatravel #fortress #culturetrip

Respite from rush
As a respite from all the honks, pollution and noise; Nandi hills is a perfect hiking spot for many people living in Bangalore city (then the hills again get crowded 😂 ). But Nandi hills has a lot of spaces to get lost in the nature. One such weekend, we took the car 🚗 and drove 60kms to go to the top and see the sunrise; but unfortunately the Sun is even earlier than us 🙈 so we have to settle with only hiking in the mountain. After crossing the entrance ticket 🎟 area, there'll be a garden sort of place and some old remains of historical buildings. As you keep hiking inside, the forest will begin to appear indicated by the presence of 🐒 monkeys. Be sure, to guard your food 😆 otherwise they're going to take it away. We hiked inside to a cliff edge and then to a view point, that gave the entire city view. We relaxed there for a while, and then buckled up back to the city. #nandihills #indiatravel

Long Drive To A Beautiful View
No long weekend but long drive on your mind? Then a half day trip to Nandi hills is what you should plan for. Sunrise is what everyone heads for however if you are not a morning person like me...Then the sunset is not a bad option either. Plan a lunch at the Indian paratha company which is a quaint wooden log styled restaurant just 20 mins before nandi hills and spend the evening at the hills enjoying the view and the breeze ending it with the sunset.
You can also plan to add on a tour to the grover vineyards which is at the foothills and make it a complete day trip.
