Trip Moments Recommendations
#Mount Hua Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Mount Hua in Shaanxi | The most dangerous mountain in the world
⚠️Precautions:
1️⃣Weather: Check the weather in advance on the official blog of 'Mount Hua Scenic Area' and choose a suitable weather to start.
2️⃣Water: Water is too heavy, don't bring too much! Don't worry too much about the high prices on the mountain, they are all within an acceptable range.
3️⃣Food: The climbing process is too tiring, not too hungry and don't want to eat too much. Before departure, I prepared some small snacks like Snickers, ham sausage, bread compressed biscuits, which are basically sold on the mountain, and the price is more expensive than usual, which is understandable.
4️⃣Clothes: Just wear a T-shirt and sweatshirt for climbing. The climbing process will be very hot, and the temperature on the top of the mountain will be very low, so you need to bring thick clothes!
5️⃣Gloves: They will be used when holding the iron chain. The supermarket at the foot of the mountain sells a pair for two yuan. It will be very tired later, so you can use your hands and feet directly.
6️⃣Headlight: It is necessary for night climbing! Some places have no lights, and the battery is 15 at the foot of the mountain. We used our mobile phones to light the way all the way, don't mention how troublesome it was. (Climbing stick: Say it three times, no need, no need, no need‼️)
7️⃣Photography: Girls generally don't wear makeup when they climb at night, so sunglasses, masks and hats are necessary! You will sweat during the climbing process, and it is overnight, so it is not recommended to wear contact lenses, wear them when you reach the top. Selfie sticks and tripods depend on personal circumstances.
8️⃣Essentials: ID card, student card, power bank, data cable, tissues, wet wipes.
⚠️Tour route:
〰️Go north and west〰️
Yuquan Courtyard-North Peak-Central Peak-East Peak (sunrise)-West Peak-Tourist Center.
⚠️About the cost:
Xi'an North-Mount Hua North: Round trip 109💰.
Tickets: Students 80💰, adults 160💰.
West Peak Cable Car: Students 126💰, adults 140💰.
Downhill bus: 40/person💰.
Carpool high-speed rail station: 5/person💰.
⚠️Small tips:
It's best to have a companion if you're alone, it's safe and not boring along the way.
The initial part of the climb is not tiring, you need to save your energy, the later part is very steep and consumes a lot of energy!

Huashan Mountain-Hike in Shaanxi
A short train ride from Xi'An, Huashan mountain is one of the famous “Five Mountains” in China. 🏔️
Hiking on Huashan Mountain is very popular and many Chinese want to visit the mountain. On the top are various small tempels, view points and walking routes.
🚄 I took an early morning train from Xi'An and rested a little on the train. From the train station it's a short bus ride to the entrance of the mountain.
🚶I climbed the whole way, but there also is cable car, in case you want to save some time.
🎫 150-230 RMB depending on the season. ❗Huashan is open 24hours and many people choose to climb the mountain during the night.

hiking huashan
Situated in Huayin City, Mount Huashan is 120 kilometers (75 miles) from Xi'an. It is famous for natural vista of steep and narrow paths, precipitous crags and a high mountain range. Its five peaks are the representative attractions and each has its distinctive charms: East Peak is the best place to enjoy the sunrise; South Peak has the highest altitude; West Peak is the most elegant; North Peak is famous as the Cloud Terrace Peak and Middle Peak is also called Jade Lady Peak.
The Mount Huashan is also home to several influential Taoist temples, where many emperors of past dynasties took part in Taoist activities and sacrificed to the god of mountain, making it a holy land of Taoism.
Hike on Huashan Mountain is very popular among visitors. For many years most people have taken a traditional but efficient walking-ascending and cable-car-descending route for this mountain climbing. By taking this route, visitors can experience not only its danger, but also the major meaningful scenic spots. At the foot of Mt. Huashan, you can start your trip by visiting the Jade Spring Temple. After that, you can walk to the Memorial Archway in about 15 min, and then in 5 min you will get to Five Dragon Bridge, next to which is the ticket office.

Mount Huashan is the most amazing mountain near Xi’an. I believe you go to visit Xi’an take the high speed train for 20 minutes to Huashan. The mountain is in the clouds. especially in the winter the mountain is covered in snow. You can take the cable ways but the hike it truly challenging. If you are fearless visit the plant bridge. Cable ways or no cable ways it’s at least a 4 hour hike to the peak of the mountain but don’t give up! it is worth it!!
Climbing one of the tallest peaks in China 🌄
Even though it wasn’t the best idea to go on such a crazy hiking trip in the middle of winter. it was worth every single moment.
This gorgeous mountain is called the mount hua! or more popularly known, the Huashan. I took this trip in the middle of January which I don’t recommend if you aren’t an experienced hiker. It was a really tough hike but there were so many good moments and the further you went, the better the views.
During the hike, there were times where it rained, and times when it snowed which really gave an interesting experience.
Getting there, we had to take a taxi to the foot of the mountain from the train station which wasn’t too far, then a bus to the cable cars 🚠 . afterwards the hike began. I would definitely recommend this place for a nice spring or autumn trip!

"From the ancient Huashan Road" "the first mountain in the world of adventures", Huashan is known as the birthplace of Chinese civilization, China, China, are originated here, and there are many historical stories and legends here! I went up from the Xifeng cableway, along the order of the west, south, east, middle and north five peaks, and experienced the heroic and handsome sports of Huashan, listening to the legends left by the ancients here! Feel the cultural heritage of Chinese history!
Right, are you, like me, the first time I heard about Huashan, the "Huashan sword" that every summer vacation will be put on, and every time I dont feel tired, Remember to find it together! In other words, I also brought a dish of chicken to the mountain, simmering chicken in front of the inscription, I feel that I am a senior!
World Huashan Insurance, famous in the world.
Huashan's most dangerous place, in addition to the long empty path, there are pigeons turning over. It is rumored that when Zhao Wei played chess, the current game is still the same. The scorpion turned over in the Shandong East Peak, which is the only way to the chess pavilion. It is one of the famous dangerous roads in Huashan. The road was cut on the cliff of the inverted ridge, and the lower view was only seen in the volley, and the path was not seen. At this point, visitors must face the wall, use the toes to find the stone nest, alternately down, and some of them must be like an eagle, flip the body left and right to pass, hence the name.

Since ancient times, there has been only one way to Mount Hua, how to choose between ascending from the west and descending from the north or ascending from the north and descending from the west
Since ancient times, there has been only one way to Mount Hua, how to choose between ascending from the west and descending from the north or ascending from the north and descending from the west.
🏔 One-day tour of Mount Hua, departing from Xi'an, leave at 7 am and return at 7 pm, climb and have nothing to do the same day, legs disabled for two days afterwards.
1⃣ Tour Routes
🔹 Ascend from the west and descend from the north: Classic route, takes about 5-7 hours. Less climbing and more descending. The essence is concentrated in the first half on the West Peak Cableway and the ascent to the South Peak. Recommended for those who do not exercise regularly, don't trouble yourself by choosing to ascend from the north.
When I was descending from the north, I felt countless times how glad I was not to have chosen to ascend from the north.
🔹 Ascend from the north and descend from the west: Challenger's route, takes about 6-8 hours. Mostly climbing upwards. It takes 2-3 hours to climb to the Jinsuo Pass on the ancient path of Mount Hua. The essence is concentrated in the latter half, and it's very refreshing to take the West Peak Cableway down.
Suitable for those who exercise regularly.
🔹 Ascend and descend from the west: Senior's route, takes about 3-5 hours. If you're worried about getting tired, you can take it easy and only visit the two most beautiful sights of the West Peak and South Peak. The most classic scenery is concentrated on the West Peak Cableway.
🔹 Night climbing route: Start climbing from the North Peak at eight or nine o'clock in the evening, and arrive at the East Peak to watch the sunrise 🌄 at four or five o'clock in the morning. There are many people and lights along the way, suitable for college students and special forces.
2⃣ Scenic Spots to Check In
🔹 West Peak: Lotus Peak, the site where Chen Xiang split the mountain to save his mother. The West Peak Cableway is yyds❗️ Deserving of its reputation as the TOP1 cableway in Asia, with first-class scenery, it's extremely shocking right from the start.
🔹 South Peak: The highest peak among the Five Great Mountains, with the Plank Walk in the Sky (those who start climbing after 10 am can go directly to queue, otherwise it's at least a two-hour wait, and by the time you're done, it's time to descend).
🔹 East Peak: Facing the sun peak, watch the sunrise 🌄, and the 'Hawk Turning Over' (an alternative to the Plank Walk in the Sky).
🔹 Central Peak: Jade Maiden Peak, quite ordinary.
🔹 North Peak: Cloud Terrace Peak, the ancient path of Mount Hua. Before the West Peak Cableway opened in 2013, there was only the North Peak for ascending and descending, and this section of the North Peak happens to be the best representation of the danger and uniqueness of Mount Hua.
3⃣ Costs
🔹 Entrance ticket: 💰160 peak season/100 off-season
🔹 Scenic shuttle bus: West Peak 💰40/North Peak 💰20
🔹 Cableway: West Peak Cableway 💰140/North Peak Cableway 💰80
🔹 High-speed train🚄: 💰54.5 from Xi'an North to Huashan North
🔹 Joining a tour group: Most cost-effective, includes city pick-up and drop-off, and the group fee is basically the same as the above self-paid costs.
⚠️ Precautions
🔹 Gloves are a must-buy at the foot of the mountain❗️ Rely on gloves to grab the chains, anti-slip and also clean.
🔹 Walking sticks can be brought or not, they are somewhat useful only when descending the North Peak, otherwise, they are quite superfluous.
🔹 Pay attention to anti-slip, there is still snow on the mountain in March, and it can be slippery after melting. If it's really not manageable, buy anti-slip spikes at the foot of the mountain to put on your shoes.
🔹 There's no need to bring too much food, you can bring two bottles of sports drinks, and two pieces of ham and chocolate are enough. Water can be bought on the mountain.
🔹 Make sure to have a power bank ready, as taking photos along the way will quickly drain your phone's battery.
🔹 The additional audio guide for tour groups is not really necessary. Although there are introductions, I was either gasping from climbing or taking photos along the way, and I hardly listened.
🔹 Apart from night climbing, there's no need to wear too much, the same as in Xi'an is fine. It's a bit cool when you first get on the mountain, but once you start climbing, you'll sweat profusely.
🔹 Don't go to the toilets on the mountain❗️ They are extremely suffocating, and because you sweat a lot while climbing, you won't need to go to the toilet much, so it's best to go before the cableway.
🔹 Be sure to stretch before getting on the bus after descending❗️
I will stand atop Mount Hua and look down upon all the other mountains as tiny!!
I will reach the summit and look down upon all the other mountains as tiny🏞! Compared to the other four great mountains, Mount Hua is arguably the most difficult🗻. Here, there are no forests bathed in gentle sunlight🌲, no gentle breezes over rippling lakes🦋, only the steep and perilous peaks🏔. The South Peak of Mount Hua is the highest among the five peaks, crowned as 'The Unmatched Summit of Mount Hua,' reaching straight into the sky, an awe-inspiring sight😮.
🚗Travel:
①Self-driving: Navigate directly to the corresponding ticket checkpoint🚙.
②High-speed train: Choose the destination 'Huashan North' station🚄, after getting off at Huashan high-speed train station, take the free bus route 2/1 to Huashan Tourist Center🚌.
③Train: Choose the destination 'Huashan Station'🚆, after getting off the train, take a bus or taxi to Huashan Tourist Center or Yuquan Courtyard🚕.
✅Main text:
1. Book tickets in advance on the 'Huashan Tourism Service Platform,' as there are no tickets sold on-site🎟.
2. The cable car and the hiking trail are not in the same place; the hiking trail starts at 'Yuquan Courtyard-Huashan Gate'🗺.
3. This time I took the route from Yuquan Courtyard up and the West Peak cable car down, planning to catch the last cable car down the mountain. I started at 9 am from Yuquan Gate, reached the North Peak around 11:50 am (average 3-4 hours depending on personal fitness🕖), arrived at the East Peak at 1:45 pm, queued for the Plank Walk at 4:30 pm, and took the West cable car down the mountain at 5:55 pm⌚.
4. Along the way, there are many snack bars🍜, with fruits, instant noodles, and drinks. The grilled sausages are delicious😋, I had 5 sticks.
5. Mount Hua has five peaks: South, North, East, West, and Central, each with different climbing difficulties and beautiful views🌈. This time I came for the Plank Walk, which I think was the most worthwhile part of the trip, very fun and exciting🎠, and not scary at all. After the Plank Walk, due to time constraints, I went straight to the West Peak to take the cable car down (the West Peak cable car ends at 6:00 pm in winter🕕)
⚠Practical advice:
Be sure to prepare gloves and a walking stick🏑 in advance, as climbing Mount Hua often requires the use of both hands and feet. Also, bring a hat and sunglasses🧤🧢 for great photos📸!
It's advised to buy food and water at the foot of the mountain🍐🥤, and bring a thermos for some hot water☕, as things are a bit expensive on the mountain, a bowl of instant noodles costs 25💰!
Before going to Mount Hua, be sure to check the weather☁, as the weather is very important for climbing. Good weather can really reveal beautiful scenery🌅, and it's definitely worth the trip!
Mount Hua, renowned as the "most precipitous mountain under heaven," has been known for its steepness since ancient times
Mount Hua, renowned as the "most precipitous mountain under heaven," has been known for its steep and beautiful natural scenery and rich historical and cultural heritage, attracting countless tourists. I had the fortune to set foot on this magical land and personally experience the charm and uniqueness of Mount Hua.
Upon ascending Mount Hua, the first thing that catches the eye is the towering and upright peaks, as if they are masterpieces of nature, each with its own distinctive character. I hiked up the ancient mountain paths on foot, feeling as if every step was a conversation with history. The scenery along the way was breathtakingly beautiful, with clouds and mists swirling at times and the sound of pine waves at others, as if I were in a natural ink painting.
Standing at the summit of Mount Hua, overlooking the continuous mountains and the tumbling sea of clouds, I felt the grandeur of nature and the insignificance of humanity. The beauty here was intoxicating, as if I were in a mysterious and dreamy world. I couldn't help but think of those sages who had climbed Mount Hua before, who conquered this perilous peak with their sweat and courage, leaving us a valuable cultural heritage.
The trip to Mount Hua made me deeply appreciate the beauty of the fusion of nature and culture. Here, there is both the magic of nature's craftsmanship and the wisdom and courage of humanity. I believe that in the days to come, Mount Hua will continue to attract more tourists to visit and experience, to feel its unique charm and endless allure.

The sense of achievement when you reach the summit, that feeling of "I have conquered the world," is something you deserve! Climbing Mount Hua at night, just for that glimpse of sunrise
Climbing Mount Hua at night is really thrilling, with the mountain open 24 hours for hiking!
😱 We set off from Yuquan Yuan at about 11 p.m., accompanied only by the light of our flashlights and the stars in the sky.
🌠 After about 6 or 7 hours of walking, we finally reached the East Peak, ready to watch the sunrise. Unfortunately, the weather was not good that day, and all we saw were clouds and mist covering the mountains; there was no chance of seeing the sunrise. 😔
However, the trip was absolutely worth it! Afterwards, we went to the South Peak and West Peak, and hiked down the mountain. By the time we got to the foot of the mountain, it was already noon, and we were completely exhausted, but we felt a great sense of achievement! 😎
If you're going to climb at night, be sure to pay attention to safety! It's quite cold on the mountain, so remember to bring warm clothes. For those who don't plan to watch the sunrise, you can actually choose to take the cable car up, which allows you to enjoy the beautiful scenery with ease. 🚡
Additionally, I'd like to recommend some cable car routes:
* **West up, North down**: This is the most popular route, offering a variety of scenery, but it also requires a good level of fitness. The whole journey doesn't involve any backtracking and is expected to take about 5 to 6 hours.
* **West Peak round trip**: Suitable for those with less physical strength. You will need to retrace your steps, and visitors can go as far as they can according to their own physical condition. If you can't go any further, just return to the West Peak and take the cable car down. It usually takes about 4 to 5 hours.
* **North up, West down**: A good choice for off-peak travel, avoiding the crowds, but it can be tiring along the way. 90% of visitors to Mount Hua choose the West Peak cable car to go up the mountain, so taking the North Peak is an off-peak route, which nicely avoids the rush. It generally takes about 5 hours.
* **North Peak round trip**: This requires the highest level of physical fitness. After reaching the North Peak, you proceed to the other peaks on your own and will have to retrace your steps, eventually returning to the North Peak to take the cable car down. This requires a very high level of physical fitness and generally takes about 3 to 5 hours.
Choose according to your own situation! 👣

🌅To have a better touring experience, make sure to get up early, otherwise, it will be overcrowded later.
🗺️Route:
North Peak—Central Peak—East Peak—South Peak—West Peak—North Peak
⏰At 7:30, take the sightseeing car to North Peak, then take the cable car to North Peak.
⛰️North Peak
One of the main peaks of Mount Hua, also known as Yuntai Peak.
The poet Li Bai wrote in 'Song of Yuntai Mountain in Xiyue to Send Off Danqiu Zi': 'Three peaks stand as if they are about to collapse, the emerald cliffs and red valleys open high. The White Emperor's golden essence moves the primal qi, the rocks form lotus flowers, and the clouds form a platform.'
North Peak is the best place for viewing and enjoying the scenery.
⛰️Central Peak
One of the main peaks of Mount Hua, with an altitude of 2037.8 meters.
The story of 'Playing the flute to summon the phoenix' took place on Central Peak. It is said that during the Spring and Autumn period, the daughter of Duke Mu of Qin, Nongyu, and her lover Xiao Shi, played the sheng and flute, sounding like the phoenix, and they became immortals here by riding dragons and phoenixes, hence it is also called the Jade Maiden Peak.
The Hua Mountain Cloud Ladder is located on the north side of Central Peak of Mount Hua. The meaning of the cloud ladder is that the ladder hangs in the clouds, climbing the ladder into the clouds, and climbing the cloud ladder can reach East Peak.
⛰️East Peak
One of the main peaks of Mount Hua, with an altitude of 2096.2 meters.
East Peak is high and dangerous, with a broad view, and is a famous place for watching the sunrise, also known as Chaoyang Peak.
⛰️South Peak
One of the main peaks of Mount Hua, with an altitude of 2154.9 meters, it is the highest peak of Mount Hua, known as 'the summit of Mount Hua', and because the returning geese often rest here when flying south, it is also called Luoyan Peak.
The poet Kou Zhun of the Song Dynasty wrote here:
'Only heaven is above, no other mountain compares.
Raising my head, the red sun is near, bowing my head, the white clouds are low.'
At the top of South Peak, there is a Heavenly Pool. The water in the pool does not overflow when flooded, nor does it dry up in drought. Because it is located at the highest peak of Mount Hua, it is called Yangtian Pool.
⛰️West Peak
West Peak is the most beautiful and precipitous peak of Mount Hua. In front of the Cuiyun Palace at the top of the peak, there is a huge rock shaped like a lotus flower, hence it is also called Lotus Peak.
This is the place where Chenxiang split the mountain to save the Third Holy Mother in 'The Lotus Lantern'.
📌tips
🔸Hawk's Turnover (East Peak)
🔸Plank Walk in the Sky (South Peak)
These two experiences really have long queues, probably two to three hours of waiting, depending on personal preference.
❌Complaint: After climbing the mountain all day, my calves are spinning and my legs are almost lame, but finally, when descending the mountain, I wanted to hurry to the exit to go home. However, there is a shopping street of several kilometers, winding up and down the buildings, and after winding down there is still more upstairs, not letting you miss a single store, it's truly a pitfall.
🤗Overall, today's choices were quite wise. According to the original plan, it would take four hours to walk to North Peak, and all the peaks would be overcrowded. Today we took the North Peak cable car up and down, saving a lot of time. During the tour, there were fewer people at North Peak, Central Peak, and East Peak, only South Peak and West Peak had more people.
Head north and descend west, conquer Mount Hua (leg-powered version)
After a day of heading north and descending west on Mount Hua, I've summarized some cold knowledge about Mount Hua that might be hot knowledge, to help fellow hikers fill in the gaps.
✔ To run through all the peaks in the order of north, central, east, south, and west peaks, you can basically avoid retracing your steps
✔ The Mount Hua sword-fighting event is not limited to the north peak; each peak has its own sword. Those who think only the north peak offers a check-in might only have fought the lowest sword
✔ Don't panic when climbing in the rain; you might be in for a surprise at the summit! The sea of clouds on a cloudy day is like a fleeting shadow, only truly breathtaking when experienced
✔ Those with a big heart wanting to challenge the Changkong Plank Walk and the Jiaozifan must pay attention to the weather; rain or snow will likely prevent the experience
✔ The path from the north peak to the central peak, Canglong Ridge, and the Carp Back of the west peak look similar, but Canglong Ridge is much more difficult, and they are both long routes
✔ The top of the central peak is a Taoist temple, and it's in the middle of all five peaks, so once you get up there, you're surrounded by mountains, and the scenery with the clouds and mist is quite ordinary
✔ Besides watching the sunrise and experiencing Jiaozifan, the distant view of the Chess Pavilion amidst the sea of clouds from the east peak is also incredibly beautiful; don't miss it
✔ In addition to being the highest peak and experiencing the Changkong Plank Walk, the South Heaven Gate you must pass through is also stunningly beautiful, like a real-life version of 'Forza Horizon 3D' sensory experience; go see it
✔ The top of the west peak is separate from the cable car; don't miss the coffee house halfway up the mountain. After a tiring run around the mountain, enjoy a cup of coffee while looking out at the scenery; this is the most comfortable part of the trip (aside from being expensive)
✔ The west peak cable car is a bit pricey, but perhaps only on Mount Hua can you experience a roller coaster-like ride for the same price. Yes, this cable car is designed in a wavy shape to avoid the mountain, and riding it is an impressive experience
✘ Any platform's combo tickets do not include the bus ticket from the west peak cable car to the tourist center, meaning you have to add another 40 yuan to all your expenses
✘ The toilets on Mount Hua are so smelly they could knock you out, especially around the west peak; the wafting toilet smell is a unique feature of the west peak
Mount Hua's cats are all round and very friendly, but if you don't have what they like to eat, they'll immediately walk away; they're very clever
I was fortunate to be accompanied by a group of young friends this time, which made me especially happy. I've got Mount Hua under my belt, and both my body and wallet have slimmed down a lot.
If you're interested, don't hesitate, trust me, head north and descend west, all you need are legs!
Mount Hua: A Perfect Combination of Challenge and Scenery
Mount Hua, historically known as the place 'with only one path', is renowned for its steepness compared to the other four great mountains of China, with a difficulty level that is truly top-notch. Although my knees showed their fragility in the face of the challenge, aching as I descended and forcing me to stop at the five peaks with regret, every step was filled with excitement and awe.

Mount Hua Challenge: A Memorable Experience of Spiritual Purification and Scenic Beauty
Standing at the summit of Mount Hua, looking back on the path I've taken, my heart is filled with awe and emotion. Mount Hua, one of the Five Great Mountains of China, is renowned for its precipitous terrain. This journey was not only to appreciate the beautiful scenery but also to challenge myself.
The trip to Mount Hua began with a reverence for nature and a challenge to myself. As I set foot on this ancient land, it seemed as if I could hear the echoes of history. Every stone, every tree seemed to be telling stories of a thousand years. Climbing up the winding mountain path, every step was filled with challenges. But it was these challenges that made me cherish every bit of scenery along the way.
Along the journey, I met fellow travelers from different places, and we encouraged and helped each other, facing the hardships of climbing together. This team spirit warmed my heart. And when I stood in front of the Golden Lock Pass, looking at the steep mountain path, a surge of pride welled up inside me. I told myself that no matter how difficult it was, I had to keep going.
Finally, standing under the South Heaven Gate, overlooking the sea of clouds and mountains beneath me, I felt a sense of accomplishment. At that moment, I felt as if I was one with the universe, experiencing the magnificence and magic of nature. And this trip made me understand my abilities and potential even more.
The journey to Mount Hua was not just a challenge to myself, but also a purification of the soul. Here, I learned to persevere and be brave, to cherish and be grateful. I believe that this trip will become a precious memory in my life. In the future, no matter what challenges I face, I will remember the journey to Mount Hua, and the tenacity and courage it taught me.
brianna.likes.adrenal.cortex The upcoming adventure is a spring day on Mount Hua in March | Climbing to the top to enjoy the flowers
Because it is a team-building trip, we chose the popular route 'West up, North down' + cable car buff
For those who exercise regularly, this route is quite relaxing, feeling like it's just a warm-up before it's over, and the rest is mostly downhill, which is not knee-friendly.
For those who are not used to exercising, it can still be tiring, and we encountered guys cramping their legs on the way down the mountain
Mount Hua is known for its steepness, and taking the cable car up the West Peak is really thrilling. The moment the mountain structure gradually comes into view as the cable car ascends is stunning, but those who are afraid of heights might be scared.
The 🌲 Chinese pines, Mount Hua pines, and peach blossoms 🌸 on the mountain peaks create a picturesque scene, and there is still some unmelted snow on the mountain. The spring breeze is so comfortable, and it's amazing to walk and admire the view along the way, it would be even more breathtaking if there were a sea of clouds
The overall route is well-established, and as long as you don't climb over the barriers and hold onto the chains properly, it's generally safe
Finally, I picked up two pine cones on the mountain as souvenirs from Mount Hua~🥳
🌸Suggestions:
1. For those who exercise less and have poor physical strength, it is recommended to take the 'West up, North down' route + cable car. After the South Peak, it's all downhill stairs, try to bring knee pads to reduce pressure
2. For those who exercise regularly and enjoy hiking, it is recommended to go 'North up, West down'. The climbing process is more enjoyable, and it's actually more knee-friendly for those with bad knees
3. The weather was clear on the day of the hike, and it was not cold on the mountain. A quick-dry shirt + a softshell jacket/thin coat for spring and autumn is enough. You can check the weather of Mount Hua on the official account 'Mount Hua Tourism Service Platform'
4. Pay attention to sun protection, as some sections are unshaded and can be quite sunny
5. You need to bring gloves 🧤, a backpack, soft-soled non-slip hiking shoes, a power bank, and an adequate amount of food and water. There are several supply points on the mountain, and I think the prices are reasonable
6. You can bring some cat food, as there are many clingy cats on Mount Hua 🤤
7. Souvenirs on the mountain get cheaper the further down you go. Tourists from other places should never buy swords 🗡, as they are not even allowed in checked baggage on planes.
8. Don't walk and take photos at the same time, take photos without walking, and don't do dangerous actions just for the sake of taking pictures. Be sure to give way to pedestrians️

If you're planning to climb Mount Hua with a child, you can directly copy this guide
💰Tickets: You need to buy tickets for the shuttle bus, entrance, and cable car. Except for those who choose to hike up the mountain, all other tickets are mandatory. Children under 1.2m do not need to buy any tickets.
There are package tickets available on certain platforms, with a total cost of 305 per person for the 'West Up, North Down' route. I personally think this is the most convenient option, you just need to swipe your ID at each gate.
⛰️Route choice: I highly recommend the 'West Up, North Down' route for those with children! It's not as tiring, and you can visit all the peaks.
🚡West Peak → South Peak (Plank Road in the Sky) → East Peak → Central Peak (Turning of the Sparrowhawk) → North Peak
🕐Tour time: Because we were with a child, we couldn't just walk, we had to make it fun. We played and walked, strolled around, and played with cats and dogs along the way. We started at eight in the morning and finished at eight in the evening.
🧗🏻♂️The most interesting and dangerous parts of Mount Hua are the 'Plank Road in the Sky' and 'Turning of the Sparrowhawk'.
❗️ People over 55 years old and under 1.5 meters are not allowed to visit. If you want to experience these, make sure to arrive before 12 o'clock, otherwise, you will have to wait in a long queue.
👔Equipment: Hiking poles are not necessary; gloves are recommended as many paths require holding onto iron chains; a backpack is a must, as many places require the use of both hands and feet, a single shoulder or handbag would be very inconvenient.
Mount Hua in the west, the most dangerous mountain in the world
Located in Huayin City, Weinan City, Shaanxi Province, Mount Hua, formerly known as 'West Mountain', is connected to the Qinling Mountains in the south and overlooks the Yellow River and Wei River in the north. It has the reputation of being 'the most dangerous mountain in the world'. During the New Year holiday, more than 20,000 visitors climb Mount Hua to enjoy the scenery every day.
Are there hidden attractions in the Huashan ticket? Explore the complete Huashan journey!
🌈Many people have been to Huashan, admiring the strange peaks and rocks, cliffs, etc. of Huashan, but many people do not know that the Huashan ticket also includes this attraction. From Emperor Han Wu, ⭐56 emperors have 'checked in' here, but now many people ignore it. This is the royal sacrificial temple--Xiyue Temple.
📍Xiyue Temple is located in Huayin City, Shaanxi, only more than one kilometer away from 'Huashan North Station', which is very convenient to depart from Xi'an. For all tourists, Xiyue Temple is included in the Huashan scenic area, and you can visit Xiyue Temple for free with the purchase of Huashan tickets! If local friends love cultural relics, it is also strongly recommended to visit alone, with convenient transportation, and the ticket is only 15 yuan.
✨The unique charm of Xiyue Temple✨
🌳As a temple for the worship of the Emperor of Huashan, Xiyue Temple was built during the Han Wu Emperor period and has a history of over two thousand years. 56 emperors have held grand ceremonies here to pray for the country's peace and the people's security. In China, it is rare to gather so many emperors to 'check in'!
🏛The scale and form of this royal sacrificial temple far exceed ordinary small temples. Its architectural complex is symmetrical along the north-south axis, with a complete layout and a grand scale. It is in a straight line with the main peak of Huashan. Standing in the Wanshou Pavilion, thinking about the grandeur of the ancient sacrifices, it is awe-inspiring.
📸When visiting Xiyue Temple, you will find:
1⃣ A large palace complex: Most of them were built during the Ming and Qing Dynasties, which are quite similar to the Forbidden City in Beijing, spectacular, with red walls and golden roofs, and it is an excellent shooting location for photography enthusiasts.
2⃣ Precious cultural relics: such as the 'First Stele in the World' written by Emperor Tang Xuanzong, the 'Yuelian Lingzhu' stone forehead written by Emperor Qianlong, etc., are all witnesses of history. For friends who are interested in humanities and history, this place is definitely not to be missed!
🏞Huashan Scenic Area is a brilliant pearl in Shaanxi. Many tourists come here to feel its magnificent scenery. But in fact, Xiyue Temple, which complements Huashan, is also worth a visit. For friends who come to Huashan for tourism, it is strongly recommended not to miss this Xiyue Temple where culture and nature blend!
📍Address: Xiyue Temple, Huayin City, Shaanxi
🎫Tickets: Included in the Huashan Scenic Area ticket for free; separate tickets are 15 yuan.
🚗Transportation: It is only 1.4 kilometers away from Huashan North Station. After taking the high-speed train from Xi'an to Huashan North Station, you can walk there. After visiting the Huashan Scenic Area, the Tourist Service Center has a free tourist bus directly to Xiyue Temple (you need to take it with the Huashan ticket).
🕘Time arrangement: It is recommended to visit for 2-3 hours to fully feel the thousand-year history and cultural heritage here.
🌟Tips: Put on comfortable shoes, because there are many ancient buildings here that you need to explore on foot. At the same time, bring a camera or mobile phone to capture the beautiful scenery and historical moments here!
