318 Self-Driving Route: Embark on your own road trip novel
I want to tell you just how beautiful the scenery is along the Sichuan-Tibet Highway.
I don't know if it's the snow-capped mountains, glaciers, forests, or sand dunes that I've scrolled past...
Self-driving on 318 is like a hormone seed planted in my heart.
The magnificent scenery is my initial impression of National Highway 318.
But it's only when you actually hit the road that you realize
the wonders are far beyond what meets the eye.
❤️🔥Below is a nanny-level Sichuan-Tibet route guide, shared with everyone
🚘Route Summary
Chengdu-Kangding-Xinduqiao-Shangri-La Town-Daocheng Yading-Litang-Batang-Zuogong-Ranwu-Bomi-Linzhi-Lhasa
📸Scenic Spot Overview
D1 Chengdu~Xinduqiao
The whole journey to Kangding is on the highway, after crossing Zheduo Mountain, you can see the early appearance of Gongga Snow Mountain at the airport road and Sidingcuo
D2 Xinduqiao~Shangri-La Town
Xinduqiao is a paradise for photographers, with Tagong Grassland nearby, and several mountain passes to view the full panorama of Gongga Mountains, truly stunning
D3 Daocheng Yading Scenic Area
Rock once said that the pyramid-like Jambeyang he saw in front of him was the most spectacular mountain he had ever seen. Return to Shangri-La to see this pure land, and also experience the shock of the three sacred mountains: Shenrezig, Jambeyang, and Chanadorje
D4 Shangri-La Town~Litang~Batang
Besides Ding Zhen's hometown, there are also the Mao Ya Grassland, Haizi Mountain, and the Sister Lakes at the foot of the mountain that are eye-catching
D5 Batang~Zuogong
Crossing the Jinsha River enters the Tibetan territory, temporarily leaving the vastness, with a bit more peril, crossing the Jueba Mountain, with the Lancang River underfoot, and the Dongda Mountain at the mountain pass
D6 Zuogong~Ranwu Lake
Today is after the 72 turns of the Nu River, and ahead is the tranquil Ranwu Lake
D7 Ranwu Lake~Bomi
Today's scenery is something I haven't seen on the 318 self-driving route before, huge glaciers and highland spruce forests in Gangyunspruce Forest, I can only say that southeastern Tibet is really too beautiful
D8 Bomi~Linzhi
Lulang town has a bit of an Eastern Switzerland feel, with villages nestled in the forests at the foot of the mountains, and stone pot chicken is a must-try
D9 Linzhi~Lhasa
Linzhi, the Jiangnan of Tibet, with peach blossoms blooming in April, and you can also see the emerald of the plateau, Basong Co
D10 Potala Palace
You have to visit the Potala Palace at least once, the leader will help with reservations and ticket purchases, the treasures inside need to be experienced in person
D11 Lhasa~Yamdrok Lake~Lhasa
The sapphire surrounded by snow-capped mountains at Yamdrok Lake, the blue here is brilliant, deep, and dazzling, all the beauty is offside.
. By the way, let me introduce the nearest snow mountain to Lhasa, a breathtakingly beautiful yet unknown scenery!
Many people come to Lhasa, visit natural attractions, only know about Yamdrok Lake and Namtso. But they don't know that more than a hundred kilometers from Lhasa, there is Lhasa's second-highest mountain: Qiongmugangri, with an altitude of 7048 meters.
🏔Attraction Introduction
Qiongmugangri is located within the territory of Ma Jiang Township, Nimu County, Lhasa City, and is the second highest peak in Lhasa, second only to Nyenchen Tanglha Mountain. Compared to Nyenchen Tanglha Mountain, Qiongmugangri is more peculiar and steep, with four smaller peaks around it, making it even more majestic.
📝Check-in Strategy
The infrastructure here is well-developed, with a concrete road all the way, and you can drive to about 5300 meters above sea level at the foot of the snow mountain. From the foot of the mountain, you can walk to the sacred lake below the snow mountain, with trails and railings all the way, and it takes about half an hour to reach the lake. There are very few tourists here, making it perfect for photography, without worrying about the crowds.
🚗Transportation Information
There is no public transportation, it is recommended to self-drive or rent a car to go. It takes less than three hours from Lhasa to the foot of the snow mountain. You can go back and forth in one day, suitable for a one-day self-driving tour.
