Kobe Maiko Akashi Bridge
I heard that the Akashi Bridge on the west side of Kobe is quite spectacular. I don't like to plan too much in advance; I prefer surprises, and in Japan, surprises are rarely unpleasant. So, I only checked the route to see if the train goes directly there, which is quite convenient for tourists. Then, I set off.
When I arrived at the station and took a walk around, two things caught my attention:
1. Right outside Maiko Station, there's a local supermarket. It seems that people living in the surrounding area rely on this station for their daily needs and come here to shop for groceries. (Unlike most train stations in the city, where you usually see small fast-food restaurants, convenience stores, or shopping malls.)
2. I thought it was just a sea and a bridge. But after crossing a pedestrian bridge from the station, I saw the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall in the distance. The famous saying 'The great way is public' is widely known. I also remembered his profound statement, 'The trend of the world is mighty; those who follow it will prosper, and those who resist it will perish.' To say such concise and shocking words in that era truly makes him a great man.
The Akashi Bridge by the sea is just a big bridge to an ordinary person like me. I've seen longer and wider ones, so it didn't resonate much with me. However, the seaside promenade and the dedicated fishing platforms below are particularly enviable. This place is very friendly to anglers, which explains why I saw several people with large backpacks on the train earlier—they came specifically with their fishing gear. The waves on the sea reflect golden light on the faces of the anglers, outlining their focused expressions through their hair, depicting various aspects of life. Seagulls and ospreys fly in the sky, ready to dive into the sea for a feast at any moment.

Hyogo Prefectural Maiko Park: Nature and History of Japan
Hyogo Prefectural Maiko Park is a must-visit attraction in Kobe, Japan. The park welcomes visitors with its elegant scenery and tranquil atmosphere. The beautiful Maiko Beach and the 300-meter-long Maiko Bridge, which you can walk across, are particularly impressive. The sea view from the bridge is truly spectacular, and visiting at sunset offers even more stunning scenery. The park's well-maintained walking paths and landscaping allow you to enjoy leisure time in nature. Additionally, there are many historical sites within the park, making it a great place to experience Japanese culture and history. It is the perfect place to spend a quiet and peaceful day.

Recommended Route
Maiko Park➡️Sannomiya Station➡️Kitano Ijinkan➡️Ikuta Shrine➡️Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Art
—————————
1⃣️ Maiko Park
Just take the JR to Maiko Station, a super photogenic seaside park. Maiko Park has its own BE KOBE, which I personally think looks even better than the one at Kobe Port. There's also a Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall nearby with beautiful architecture worth checking out. Plus, there are lots of pine trees 🌲, which make for great photos with the play of light and shadow.
2⃣️ Sannomiya Station
Almost all the good food is here. I suggest looking for restaurants in the small alleys. Lunch won't be too expensive, and I think you can't go wrong with any beef dish.
3⃣️ Kitano Ijinkan
This area was the embassy district during the Meiji era and has a lot of Western-style buildings, which are characteristic of a port city. There are also super many coffee shops and dessert shops. Had chestnut cake with a friend and visited a unique Starbucks, which is also worth the visit.
4⃣️ Ikuta Shrine
A shrine ⛩️ that's said to be very effective for love wishes, located near Sannomiya Station. You might want to drop by.
5⃣️ Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Art
A must-visit stunning museum for Tadao Ando fans. The architectural design is truly amazing. Saw a photo exhibition by Yasuji Asai and was reminded of the charm of film cameras; every shutter click brings a surprise.

Kobe is really a very comfortable city, nestled between mountains and sea, with a slow pace of life. I personally love it so much, I really wish I had a home in Kobe

Hyogo Prefectural Maiko Park
#thingstodo
Second longest suspension bridge in the world. You can take the elevator up to the viewing area with a gift shop and restaurant. Wish you could walk on top of the bridge, but the small walkway and visitors center was nice. But for the bigger and better version of the golden gate, the visitor part feels a bit of an afterthought. Regardless, good views and neat experience. I would go back. Such a breathtaking view!

Hyogo Prefectural Maiko Park
#thingstodo The largest handing bridge in the world and just by looking at it you feel it. There is a house at the left very nice. The bridge itself is accessible by elevator and you can see how large and tall it is, also on top it is a restaurant.Wish you could walk on top of the bridge, but the small walkway and visitors center was nice. Hyogo Maiko Park
This is a park in Hyogo where the bridge behind me connects to Awaji Island. Some people are here for fishing.

Maiko Park in Kobe
We visited Maiko Park on a sunny day in the early winter. The sunset over the sea is beautiful, though it's cold. You can easily come from the station by sidewalk, there is a toilet, there is a plaza and there is a fence on the sea side, so it is safe for children, and since the slope continues from the station, wheelchair users can also come. The station building is also recommended, and everywhere you can see the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge with large windows, there are coffee shops and restaurants. After that, when you go to the base of the bridge, the main is mechanic, and this is also very impressive.
Besides that, it’s simply a nice park to take a walk around, or you could just sit back to feel the sea breeze and relax.
