The appeal of Courtyard by Marriott Fukui, which opened this year.
I was invited to a press tour of Courtyard by Marriott Fukui, which just opened next to Fukui Station in March this year, and took my long-awaited first trip to the Hokuriku region.
Courtyard by Marriott Fukui is a 3-minute walk from Fukui Station, making it a great location for sightseeing in Fukui. It is also located in the tallest building in Fukui, at 28 stories, which is the tallest in the city, where there are many low buildings, so you can enjoy a spectacular view.
The afternoon tea served in an Echizen lacquerware box, which just started service on June 7th, has a good balance of savory and sweet dishes, and the quality of each dish is high. It was not too heavy for me, who has recently been unable to finish an afternoon tea, and I was very satisfied. (The Lounge & Bar on the 16th floor is limited to 30 meals a day, and you can enjoy it for 5,800 yen per meal.)
The Lounge & Bar can also be used as a bar, so sunset time is recommended. You can spend a relaxing time watching the sky gradually change.
Next, we will introduce the Japanese restaurant "Fukui".
The head chef, who is very particular about his food, carefully orders everything from the tableware to the soba noodles, and combines them with his own dishes, and you can really feel his love and passion for Fukui.
There are many condiments to choose from, and it was fun to mix them with your own preferences. I was really surprised that each one was so delicious that I wanted to buy them.
They have put a lot of research into how to cook rice, and the ingredients such as dried sardines and Japanese pepper are so delicious that you will want to eat more and more rice.
The time spent eating the dishes that the head chef, who can be called a researcher, has created through trial and error in a wonderful space where you can watch the sunset is simply bliss.
SUBSTANCE is available from breakfast buffet to dinner. The breakfast buffet, where you can eat ingredients and specialties from Fukui, is ¥3630.
Substance, which offers a menu that makes use of sustainably sourced local ingredients, has a lively open kitchen that creates a gourmet experience that stimulates the senses.
It's also nice that soba noodles and egg dishes can be brought to your table. The open ceiling and morning sun are just pleasant, and the dinosaur nuggets are cute, so it's perfect for families with children. There are dinosaurs hiding in various places, so I'm sure searching for them together will be one of the fun things to do.
Dinner here is
Substance salad, relocated vegetables, Echigo Ruby vinaigrette, Mascarpone mousse, Fukui Prefecture golden plum and berry sauce, Rose champagne gelato, Fukui Prefecture Tomitsuki potage, Fukui pork shank stewed in red wine, Katsuyama mizuna fragrant mashed potatoes, local mustard
And more. Everything was delicious, but I was overwhelmed by the dynamism of the pork stewed in red wine lol. (This is supposed to be dinosaur meat 🦕)
The restaurant and bar are open to guests and those who just want to dine, so they are also recommended for locals celebrating anniversaries.
Finally, we would like to introduce the rooms.
This is the highest-rise hotel in Fukui, which is full of low-rise buildings, so the view is outstanding.
The rooms are clean and simple, and the wall above the bed has a pine motif.
My favorites are the lighting and the bed. The lighting is very stylish, and the bed is more than spacious, and I was able to spend a blissful time on the fluffy and comfortable futon.
From Fukui Station, Kanazawa, Kaga Onsen, and Komatsu are all just one train ride away. So, Fukui is a good place to visit in addition to popular cities like Kanazawa. Courtyard by Marriott Fukui is located just a 3-minute walk from Fukui Station, so it is easily accessible.
By the way, the Hokuriku Shinkansen "Kanazawa-Tsuruga" section will open on March 16, 2024, so it will now be possible to travel from "Tokyo to Fukui" in as little as 2 hours and 51 minutes without changing trains.
It seems that you can also get to Fukui from Omiya, Takasaki, Nagano, and Toyama without changing trains🚄
I've come to love Fukui so much, and I definitely want to visit again. #Fukui #FukuiTrip #HokurikuTrip #FukuiHotel #AccommodationTrip #FukuiGourmet #FukuiTourism
