Lingfeng Plum Blossom Viewing, one of the best places to appreciate plum blossoms in Hangzhou!
Lingfeng Plum Blossom Viewing is located to the west of West Lake, at the foot of Lingfeng Mountain in Qingzhiwu. Lingfeng Temple was built during the Kaiyun period of the Later Jin Dynasty. There are Cuivei Pavilion, Mianyun Hall, Miaogao Terrace, Washing Bowl Pool, etc. In the early Wanli period, the temple was ruined and the monks scattered, leaving only the temple buildings. During the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty, Lianxi, the commander of Zhejiang Province, rebuilt Lingfeng Temple and planted more than a hundred plum trees around it. In the first year of Xuantong, Zhou Mengpo planted another 300 plum trees, making it a good place to appreciate plum blossoms, hence the name "Lingfeng Plum Blossom Viewing".
The Hangzhou Botanical Garden has always been a classic place to appreciate plum blossoms! There are more than 40 different varieties of wax plums in the garden, a total of more than 1,200 trees, most of which are concentrated around the Lingfeng Scenic Area. The Wax Plum Garden, Longyue Tower, and the entrance to Lingfeng are the three most densely planted areas, and there are also a few scattered plantings in other areas of the garden.
Location: No. 1 Taoyuanling, West Lake District, Botanical Garden (Enter from the Qingzhiwu ticket check point, and you can reach the Plum Garden in about 5 minutes on foot) There is a short mountain road to Lingfeng Plum Blossom Viewing, and it takes about 10 minutes to climb. Ticket: 15 yuan

😜Just came back from the Botanical Garden Chrysanthemum Exhibition, to tell the truth:
Although there are many people, but I feel 🙅🏻♀️ not as many people as last year, and this year's few exhibition layouts look good, the kind that young people also like!!! Very atmospheric Zen, there is also a real version of Monet's garden!!! And it's easy to take pictures, don't worry about the crowd!!!
·
🌟Exclusive photo location: I dug up with my friends after walking around several times, there was no one before we took the pictures, and friends who also want to take portraits hurry up 🌟 hurry up~
➊The big road next to Yuquan Fish Leap, position 7, this place has chrysanthemums scattered in the middle of the small road stones and no fence, you can take a picture of being in the sea of flowers, and because everyone is directly into Yuquan Fish Leap from the chrysanthemum arch, basically no one walks this road, so no one takes pictures;
➋Continue to walk forward on this big road, passing by a small chrysanthemum station after 'Autumn Hua Yuan', which is on the lawn, there are two clusters of very tall chrysanthemums and a small sea of chrysanthemums, you can walk to the back and take a picture with the chrysanthemums, a perfect Monet garden feeling;
·
🙌🏻Viewing tips: Although every year the chrysanthemum exhibition is mostly visited by old grandpas and grandmas, but I feel that this year's 'Picking Chrysanthemums at the East Fence' and 'Autumn Hua Yuan' are just the kind of exhibitions that young people love to see, one is the autumn Zen atmosphere, imagine drinking tea and tasting tea in it is simply divine, one is the Monet garden atmosphere, casually taking pictures is super dreamy, although they are all fenced up, but this makes it easier to take pictures of the scenery!!!
·
🏃🏻♂️Tour strategy:
➊Enter from the north gate, do not drive, if there is a traffic jam 300m away from the gate, get off and walk, I have tested that I have walked and the car has not moved;
➋No need to make an appointment, just come, why not come to see the top chrysanthemum exhibition for 10r, like us with a park card is simply free to visit;
➌Chrysanthemum lovers can come again next week, after all, the exhibition period is a month, so now some are still flower buds, not fully bloomed;

Hangzhou’s Botanical Garden 🌸
After several recommendations, I took myself to the botanical garden for spring blossoms. I was a bit disappointed as there were very few blossoms and some of them were already dry. Nevertheless, if you’re looking for a rejuvenating place or somewhere for a picnic, that’s spot on!
My favourite was the potted plants garden with beautifully displayed bonsaï plants. If you wander in the little forest with the wooden pathway running through it, you’ll witness a tranquil atmosphere with fresh air and a light breeze 🍃. On a sunny Saturday afternoon, the crowd was there, but fortunately, nothing overwhelming. The garden is so wide that you can easily find a corner to be with your friends or by yourself.
How to go ➡️ I took a taxi 🚕 from Wulin Square metro station 🚇 (武林广场地铁站). The ride was about 30-40 mins. (The roads around the botanical garden were congested especially on the weekends)
Entrance 🎟 ➡️ 10¥

Hangzhou Botanical Garden
First evening in Hangzhou, I decided to start my sights with this delightful garden... That turned out to be such a bad idea since I arrived at 4pm (spent about 30mins walking in circles) and they close at 5pm. I was only able to see a fraction of its attractions but it was worth it..
Getting There - I took a cab to the location but there is a bus stop right by the garden entrance, so that's an option.
Attractions - Nature at its best..
Food & Restaurants - There were a few buildings in the park that looked like they offered restaurants but never had the opportunity to enter any..

You can come all year. It is very big. If you want to walk around, it takes 3-4 hours. On mid March, you have chance to see blossom. On mid November, trees change to yellow and green.

Beauty of the Weighing Hammer Tree 🌸
#cherryblossom2024
It's disappointing that this year's flowering season for the weighing hammer tree ended with the rain, leaving behind only a few wet pictures. I missed the chance to see the Davidia involucrata flowers at Hangzhou Botanical Garden, as they seem to have bloomed just two days ago—a trip I look forward to every year, almost like a festival. Interestingly, I have a weighing hammer tree planted in a corner for several years. I thought it hadn't blossomed, but upon closer inspection, I found a fresh flower. Unfortunately, I missed its bloom. 🌿🌸
The weighing hammer tree's fruit rate is high, with branches covered in small, hard seeds. However, these lignified fruits lack appeal to animals due to their lack of flesh or skin, making them unappetizing. Consequently, the seeds are difficult to spread in the wild. Eventually, the weighing hammer tree became distributed in a very small area of Nanjing Shofu Mountain. The tree's flowers are beautiful, but its overall plant shape is ordinary and requires pruning. 🌳🍃
Plant Planet has sold several Libra trees, but this year's flowering period has passed. Currently, the seedlings do not bloom. However, if necessary, there are a few trees still available for purchase. Additionally, there are original seedlings of Davidia involucrata (pigeon flower) available for purchase, even if they don't bloom for several years. 🌸🌱

Step into the vibrant Hangzhou Botanical Garden: a feast for the eyes and soul
Hangzhou Botanical Garden is home to a wide variety of plants, ranging from the tall trees of tropical rainforests to the flowers and grasses of cold regions, from water lilies to terrestrial pines and cypresses. Walking along this road, you will come to the Economic Botanical Garden. The crape myrtle trees that have not bloomed have smooth trunks and look like high-quality wood.

If you are tired of walking, head towards the south gate, and right opposite is the Mulan Mountain Tea Garden. Inside, there are red and white camellias, as well as magnolias and broad magnolias. There are few people inside, so you can avoid the weekend crowds.
Experience Review:
As you stroll through the botanical garden, you will find that shrubs and ground cover every inch of the land here. The greenery is so lush that it makes one feel cool and calm. You can relax your body and mind here and enjoy the beauty of nature.

Here, you can admire the beauty of nature up close while feeling the tranquil and harmonious atmosphere. Whether it's exercising in the morning, walking at noon, or enjoying the scenery in the evening, Hangzhou Botanical Garden is an excellent choice.

Weekend Family Trip Recommendation | Hangzhou Botanical Garden🎈
This weekend, I went to the City Forest Market and unexpectedly found that the Hangzhou Botanical Garden truly lives up to its name as a 'city forest'. Hangzhou Hangzhou Botanical Garden | Encounter the beautiful secret realm of nature
📍Check-in this time👉Hangzhou Botanical Garden, located in Taoyuanling of Xihu District, was established in the 1950s. It is the first city botanical garden in New China. The scenery here in early autumn is charming. With numerous plants and spacious grounds, there are few visitors, making it a great place for plant viewing and 'lung-nourishing' strolls.
💫Features:
1⃣️The Big Buddha Head🙏
2⃣️The Big Green Fish
3⃣️Red Spider Lily (Lycoris radiata), Wintersweet, Plum Blossom, Azalea, Autumn Osmanthus

The current big green fish were released during the reconstruction of Yiquan after the founding of New China. There are more than 100 of them, the longest being 1.5 meters and the heaviest around 100 pounds. Yiquan, dating back to the Southern Song Dynasty, is famous for viewing big fish and is one of the three famous springs of West Lake in Hangzhou. The spring water is crystal clear. It used to be a temple, known as Yiquan Temple or Qinglian Temple.
2⃣️Han Meilin Art Museum - Where the Buddha Head is located

Whoever comes to Hangzhou and doesn't visit this bamboo forest secret spot, I will really be sad
I will really be sad. 👀 Ever since 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon' was released,
Hangzhou's bamboo forests have become famous,
especially the 'Yunqi Bamboo Path'.
In recent years, it has slowly become a niche spot for checking in.
And the bamboo forest secret spot recommended today
is even more off the beaten path! More secluded! And it even has a stream alongside.
Walking here in the evening of a summer day
is so comfortable that it's beyond words!
This is: Hangzhou Botanical Garden - Bamboo Plant Area
📍Opposite the north gate of Hangzhou Botanical Garden
🎫Free admission 🆓
🕰️Open 24 hours
🚌Bus routes 15/28/82 to 'Yuquan Station' or 'Botanical Garden Station' or 7/27/87/103/197/505 to 'Botanical Garden (Yuquan) Station'
⭐Most people would buy a ticket to visit the botanical garden,
but this bamboo forest is free!
You can come at any time to feel the freshness of the flowing stream
and the long bamboo path.
Suddenly, you get the feeling of traveling through ancient times~
❤️Recommended tour route
Lin Fengmian's Former Residence (to receive artistic influence)
→ Bitaoyuan Teahouse (super popular tree🌲 great for photos)
→ Bamboo Garden (vast bamboo sea)
→ Pavilion (thatched roof appearance, resembling Dai style)
→ Renshou Mountain Trail (bamboo forests on both sides, like a secret realm)

The plum blossoms in Hangzhou are in bloom, sharing 8 great places to enjoy the plum blossoms
Another year of plum blossoms has arrived, and it is expected that the best time to enjoy them will be around the Spring Festival, with the peak bloom in mid-February. Here are a few treasured spots for plum blossom appreciation that I'd like to recommend in advance. ❤️Nothing compares to the beauty of the south of the Yangtze River, I offer you a branch of spring as a token of this beauty🌸
📍Small yet beautiful
Qianwang Temple, Huiyin Gaoli Temple, Guozhuang, Zhanbi Tower
📍Grand and spectacular
Xixi Wetland, Hongcun Plum Valley, Lingfeng Plum Exploration
✅Qianwang Temple
I would like to call it the poetic 'ceiling' of plum appreciation by the West Lake. Following Qian Mu's words 'When the flowers bloom on the roadside, one can return slowly', one can see the red walls and white plum blossoms, reminiscent of the deep Forbidden City
✅Xixi Wetland
Meandering through the water to find plum blossoms, with ten miles of fragrance, it is elegant to explore the plum blossoms by rowing boat. Recommended spots include Zhoujiacun Plum Forest Road and Xixi Plum Villa
✅Hongcun Plum Valley
Hidden in the valley, the sea of plum blossoms is stunningly unique, and the aerial view is breathtaking. It is recommended to drive there, and you can also visit Jingshan Temple along the way
✅Huiyin Gaoli Temple
A place 99% of people will miss, a serene Song dynasty temple with yellow walls and black tiles, though there are only 4 red plum trees, they are no less impressive than the others
✅Lingfeng Plum Exploration
Here, the number of plum blossoms is large and dense, a top destination every year, with more than 1200 trees in full bloom, including the Wax Plum Garden, Longyue Tower, and the entrance to Lingfeng
✅Guozhuang
A private garden by the West Lake, where the plum blossoms are not numerous, but the beauty lies in the combination with ancient architecture, picturesque
✅Zhanbi Tower
Plum blossoms bloom by the ancient architecture near the water, petals fall into the water, it is the epitome of the southern spring where flowers naturally fall and water flows
✅Maojiabu
Also a less-known spot for plum appreciation, the Wax Plum King in front of Du Jinsheng's former residence has a very Chinese style, absolutely beautiful
❗️Tips1
The photos above were taken last year, and the peak bloom is expected to be around the New Year, so plan your time accordingly
❗️Tips2
If you are short on time and can only choose one area to enjoy the plum blossoms, I would recommend the West Lake plum appreciation route, as the spots are relatively close to each other, and you can enjoy the essence of plum appreciation in 2 days and 1 night
❗️Tips3
There will be many people enjoying the plum blossoms, so remember to start early! 🚗

I thought cherry blossoms were beautiful enough, until I captured the magnolias
Having lived in Hangzhou for six years, there's a superb spring outing route I must visit every year:
🚏➡️Quyuan Fenghe➡️Guo's Villa➡️Maojiabu➡️Turtle Pool➡️Santai Yunshui➡️Flower Harbor Watching Fish➡️Yu Huiwan➡️Prince Bay Park
After visiting Prince Bay Park, if there's spare time, you can also visit the 【Jingci Temple】 about 600 meters ahead.
⏰The whole duration is about 4 hours, those who like taking photos and walk slowly may reserve more time.
⚠️For those with poor physical strength, it is suggested to adjust the itinerary according to your own situation.
➡️Guo's Villa: A super beautiful, less-known garden. In spring, magnolias bloom splendidly (🎫10 yuan, free until the end of March 2023).
➡️Maojiabu: Can be described as Hangzhou's hidden green fairyland. In March every year, large patches of February orchids bloom by the water, accompanied by vast greenery, extremely pleasing to the eye.

Not only Qianwang Temple, but this plum blossom holy land is worth your possession!
🌟 Hangzhou, besides West Lake, the scenery of the four seasons is also amazing, with spring plum, summer lotus, and autumn maple leaves, which have been known as 'paradise on earth' since ancient times. In February, as the weather warms up, the plum blossoms bloom brilliantly, and here are a few good spots in Hangzhou to enjoy the plum blossoms!
1⃣️ Hangzhou Botanical Garden
🌟 The branches twist and turn, the flowers stand proud, and the fragrance is subtle. When I see such a plum grove, I can appreciate the beauty with a deep ancient charm like 'plum, orchid, bamboo, and chrysanthemum' and 'pine, bamboo, and plum'.
🌸 Hangzhou Botanical Garden plum viewing spots: Lingfeng Plum Exploration, Pinmei Garden, Qixing Ancient Plum
📌 Hangzhou Botanical Garden (Qingzhiwu Gate)
🚇 Line 3 West Lake Sports Center Station, it's more convenient to cycle from the subway, no traffic jams
2⃣️ Xixi Wetland
🌟 Xixi Wetland is like the Peach Blossom Spring that the Wuling people entered by boat. Suddenly encountering a plum forest, stretching for hundreds of steps along the bank, with fresh and beautiful grass and scattered blossoms. The waterways crisscross here, and the plum forest grows naturally, covering a large area, and it is really beautiful.
🌸 Xixi Wetland plum viewing spots: Zhoujia Village Pier, Meizhu Villa, Qu Shui Plum Search, Xixi Plum Villa, Xiangxue House
📌 Xixi Wetland (Zhoujia Village Entrance)
🚇 Line 3 Xixi Wetland South
3⃣️ Xiang Lake
🌟 The open lake and the vast plum grove
🌸 Xiang Lake plum viewing spots: Cross-Lake Bridge, Maya Island, Chuyang Platform
🚇 Line 1 Xiang Lake
4⃣️ Huiyin Gaoli Temple
🌟 The temple is quiet and serene, with red plums shining, and the ancient architecture is a perfect match with the plum blossoms, looking just like a painting.
5⃣️ Jingci Temple
🌟 Jingci Temple also has winter plums and red plums. Walking up the small path, the distant temple buildings become the background for the plum blossoms, offering a great view. Here you can also take a photo with the Leifeng Pagoda, which is very worthwhile.
6⃣️ Guo's Villa
🌟 White walls, green tiles, and corridors match with a few plum trees. A scene at every step, a garden in every view.
7⃣️ Zhanbi Tower
🌟 'Sparse shadows slant across the shallow water, a faint fragrance floats in the moonlit dusk.' Zhanbi Teahouse is located in Quyuan Fenghe, and you can no longer see the appearance of the past years in the pictures. The plum trees here have already withered by half, and it may be the same this year. If it's on the way, you can take a look.
8⃣️ Maojiabu
🌟 In the former residence of Du Jinsheng in Maojiabu, there is a King of Plum Blossoms, which is great for taking photos with few people around.
9⃣️ Qianwang Temple
🌟 Qianwang Temple is not big, but it wins with the combination of red walls and plum blossoms, like a 'Little Forbidden City' in Hangzhou, with a full ancient charm atmosphere. Qianwang Temple is right by West Lake, so there may be more tourists. If you want to take good photos, you need to go early.
🌟 There are many places to enjoy plum blossoms in Hangzhou, including: Gushan Park, Yongfu Temple, Xiying Pavilion. Don't waste the spring days, don't waste the blooming period, hurry up and get going!

Hangzhou's top destination for plum blossom appreciation! The most romantic plum blossoms are in Xixi Wetland
In ancient Hangzhou, Xixi, Lingfeng, and Gushan were known as the three major spots for plum blossom viewing. The plum blossoms in Xixi can rival the 'Fragrant Snow Sea' of Dengwei in Suzhou in both scale and duration. The plum trees here are often planted along the streams and are famous for their weeping branches. Like willows by the lake, they can 'bend down' to touch the water surface, thus creating the unique Xixi way of enjoying plum blossoms—exploring plum blossoms on the water, and rowing boats to view them.
Attraction Information:
Location: Xixi Wetland, Hangzhou
Ticket: 80 RMB per person (free with a park card or cultural tourism card)
Transportation:
1. Take the bus to Zhoujiacun bus station, walk about 153 meters to arrive.
2. Drive to 'Zhoujiacun Parking Lot'
3. Take Metro Line 3 to Xixi Wetland South Exit A, which leads directly to Zhoujiacun entrance
Travel Tips:
1. Walking tour
No-return route: Xixi Wetland South Metro Station Exit A👉Zhoujiacun Entrance👉Meizhu Mountain Villa👉Xixi Plum Villa👉Xixi Shuige👉Gaozhuang Exit👉Huawu Metro Station Exit A. The plum blossoms in Xixi Wetland are concentrated around Xixi Plum Villa. The whole journey on foot actually takes only about 30 minutes, and with some playing and photo-taking, around 2 hours.
2. Rowing boat tour
Xixi Wetland South Metro Station Exit A👉Xixi Wetland Zhoujiacun Entrance👉Zhoujiacun Fisherman's Journey Pier👉Xixi Plum Villa👉Then disembark and walk👉Gaozhuang Exit👉Huawu Metro Station Exit A. 100 RMB/boat/hour, one hour is enough, can seat 6 people
Experience Review:
Currently, some of the plum blossoms have bloomed, and it is expected that more will open in the coming period. The area near Xixi Plum Villa is the best viewing spot, but the plum blossoms along the way are very beautiful.
Journey Feelings:
A few plum trees planted by the river together resemble a huge broccoli, with the water reflecting red and white. The drizzling rain scatters the plum blossoms along the riverbank, and there are also many bamboo groves nearby the plum blossoms, with the two 'gentlemen' complementing each other interestingly.

March 8th Snapshot | The famous Tianmu Magnolia in the botanical garden is so beautiful~
During the season when the spring breeze is getting warmer, I stepped into the Hangzhou Botanical Garden, full of anticipation for that 'great beauty of the plant world'—Tianmu Magnolia. The name Tianmu Magnolia itself carries a mysterious and noble aura; it is not only because it is rare and endangered, but also because of its extraordinary appearance.
The flowers of Tianmu Magnolia stand upright, resembling a tall and slender beauty, with narrow petals that are charming and delicate. It is the earliest blooming species in the Magnolia genus, and it knows exactly when to pick its time, choosing to bloom when other flowers have not yet opened in spring, not competing for attention, enjoying the warmth of the spring and the admiration of onlookers all by itself.
Ticket🎫: 10 yuan (free with a park card)
Navigation🧭: Tianmu Magnolia, it's more convenient to enter from the west gate~
🌸🌸🌸 Flower Viewing Tips
The best time to photograph Tianmu Magnolia is in sunny weather, with the blue sky as the background, which can better highlight the delicacy and beauty of the flowers. If you also want to witness this beauty, why not take advantage of the peak of Tianmu Magnolia's beauty and go to Hangzhou Botanical Garden to enjoy the flowers~

Hangzhou Botanical Garden | It's not that I can't afford to go, but cherry blossoms can be seen everywhere in China
This business trip was so worthwhile, I actually encountered the cherry blossom season. The cherry blossoms in Hangzhou Botanical Garden are blooming so brilliantly!
It should look even better on a sunny day, and it looks even better with a telephoto lens taken by a friend.
It is recommended to go in the mid to late afternoon when the sunlight is more abundant, making the flowers look vivid and bright. This is the beauty of spring that is limited to this season.
It is advised that sisters who want to take portraits should not come on weekends, as it is bound to be crowded. I heard that the magnolias are also blooming, which means even more people.
It is suggested to hurry up and come to see, as the cherry blossom season is not very long, and if there is a strong wind and rain, they might fall off at any time.
