Fangmaping in Yunnan and Guizhou | a paradise of blooming flowers

Fangmaping Grassland in Guizhou is located to the north of Xingren City in Qianxinan, at the foot of Xiashan Town, 24km away from the city center. With its picturesque scenery, it is known as the 'Plateau beyond the Great Wall' and covers an area of more than 28,000 acres. Among this, there are over 20,000 acres of natural grassland and more than 7,000 acres of natural forests. The grassland is situated on a slope with a unique landform. The majestic mountains and beautiful waters here are masterpieces meticulously carved by nature on the Guizhou Plateau. Set amidst the green plains, they create a landscape of stunning beauty that allows one to experience the poetic and vibrant essence of paintings. Its breathtaking and magical scenery displays an immortal charm and allure through the seasons and the passage of time. The Fangmaping Alpine Grassland Scenic Area has a unique landform and is a rare grassland gem on the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau. It is a national 4A-level scenic spot, a provincial scenic area, and one of the 'Eighteen Scenic Spots of Jinzhou'. The TV series 'The Long March' was filmed here, depicting the Red Army's journey across the grasslands. The scenic area is located at the border between Panjiazhuang and Xiashan Towns to the north of Xingren, within the Shanghai-Kunming high-speed rail tourism belt. The vast expanse of grassland, as far as the eye can see, is like a broad and open green ocean spread across the plateau. With the sky as a dome and the earth like green waves, the scenery is enchanting, offering a taste of the grandeur beyond the Great Wall. To the southwest of the grassland, there are the beautiful and majestic Dabai Cave, Xiaobai Cave, and Mainai Sinkhole, along with a rich variety of rare vegetation, adding a different kind of scenic charm to the Fangmaping Grassland. The area has a profound historical and cultural heritage, with folk tales and legends about the Yi chieftain Mainai, adding a touch of mystery to the scenic area.
