BaiSha Ancient Town | This is the "Life of Longing"
BaiSha Ancient Town is located at the foot of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, about 10km from Dayan Ancient City, about 30 minutes by car, and about 30 yuan by car. You can drive or take a taxi, just locate BaiSha Ancient Town directly, there are parking lots on both sides of the ancient town entrance, which is very convenient.
BaiSha Ancient Town is relatively small, and the shops open relatively late, so there is no need to go too early. It is recommended to go in the afternoon, have a coffee or tea, put down your phone, completely empty, this time is yours.
Travel Guide
1. Snow Mountain View
You can see Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in BaiSha Ancient Town. The recommended viewing cafes are "Hexi", "7sea", and "Yiwatang". Sitting on the second floor and having afternoon tea while watching the snow mountain is very comfortable.
2. Specialty Shops
There are many specialty shops on the cross street of the ancient town. You can buy postcards of Lijiang at the "Chengbei Post Office", there are many interesting vintage knick-knacks at "Zhang San's Shop", "BaiSha Grass Hall" is a literary bar hidden in the alley, and "Bun Poet" can eat rose buns until you are full for 6 yuan.

The ticket is 20 yuan. It is said to be one of the four major murals in China. The colored murals from the Ming and Qing Dynasties are stored in the Liuli Palace and Dabaoji Palace, which are worth a look.
4. BaiSha Jinxiu Art Academy
In this ancient courtyard, you can visit the traditional embroidery skills of the Naxi people and the works of Dongba culture. There are Naxi cultural peripherals in the art academy, which can be used as souvenirs.
5. Courtyard in front of the mountain
A treasure tea room unknown to people near BaiSha Ancient Town, like the Lijiang version of Youfeng Xiaoyuan, drinking tea and reading books in the courtyard is very comfortable. You need to make an appointment with the owner in advance.

Yunnan First Experience: Baby and Baisha Trip
Hey everyone! This is Sienna’s first big adventure 🌍. Flying from Shanghai to Yunnan, who said traveling with a little baby would be a problem? 👶✈️
First stop, we arrived at Baisha Ancient Town near Lijiang. Well… the weather forecast was indeed right; it’s drizzling here ☔️. But Baisha in the rain has a unique charm, just like an ink painting 🖼️. The three of us were holding umbrellas, and Sienna was curiously looking around from her stroller. She seems very intrigued by this new environment!
One of the most fun parts of the trip was packing for it. Well, traveling with a baby means more luggage 💼😂. Bottles, diapers, toys… can you imagine the hustle and fun we had while packing?
But most importantly, we want to share that traveling can still be a wonderful and unforgettable experience, even with a child. Yes, there will be more challenges, but those unforgettable moments and intimate times with family are priceless 💖.
Remember, exploring new places with family is always worth it! 🌏

Baisha Village - Lijiang's Quaint Old Town
Baisha Village is a traditional Naxi Village. The Old Town was the first settlement of Naxi People upon their arrival in the Lijiang basin and houses the Baisha Murals.
Baisha is located at the foot of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain about 10 km from Lijiang city.
This is a lovely quaint village on the edge of Yulong mountain, 30 mins drive from Lijiang, with tasteful craft shops and coffee shops.

Lijiang Ancient Town- A step back in time.
Getting There -
Lijiang ancient town is located roughly 35-40 minutes from Lijiang airport by taxi.
Attractions -
For me, the best thing to do during the day is explore. I enjoyed getting lost and taking photos of the old town. To the north is Shuhe and Baisha ancient towns, which are less touristy and a little quieter. Around the towns are plenty of things to do, such as mountain top shows, the tiger leaping gorge, hiking and a few museums.
Hotels -
There are hotels to suit all budgets. There's an Intercontinental on the edge of town for luxury, or you can spend as little as 50rmb per night for a perfectly comfortable room.
Food & Restaurants -
If you love hot pot, you'll love the selection. There's also a wide variety of street food as well as buffet style restaurants.
Shopping -
If it's silver or leather you want, you'll be spoiled for choice. There are also many shops selling traditional Naxi clothes

Baisha Ancient Town, Lijiang, Yunnan
Location: Lijiang, Yunnan
This is the most impressive ancient town I have been to China. The reason for that might be the experience I had in this impressive ancient town. We went here at the end of July and were lucky enough to witness the Torch festival celebration of local minority Naxi people. They were dancing and we joined them. That was an unforgettable experience.
You will see drawing like patterns on the wall. Those are Naxi people characters. They have their own language and alphabet.
If you stay in a hostel inside the ancient town you most likely will have a view to the Snow mountain.
I would call this town a “wooden ancient town”. Naxi people traditional architecture includes a lot of wood. No wonder in every corner you will see wooden carved doors and windows.
There are small restaurants with yummy food. Don’t miss local rose petal mantos for which you have to wait in a long line but it is worth it trust me!
There are also small cafe shops and bars with live music for you to have a pleasant night life.
Been Swept Into A New World
Baisha Ancient Town is one of the three ancient towns in "Lijiang Ancient City". Each ancient town has different scenery. What I liked the most here is that there are less people, the town is quiet and comfortable. Baisha isn't that big compare to Lijiang Ancient City but its beauty can't be missed. The buildings here are very well-preserved, the shops are also more stylish. It looks so authentic. It takes about an hour and a half to walk around . You can find souvenir shops, restaurants and bistros.
If you wish to take good photos, you should be there in the afternoon around 4:00-6:00.

Amazing Lijiang - Baisha Village
Getting There - Baisha Village is about 8km north of Lijiang Old Town. Local bus runs frequently from the city to the village during the day. It is much quieter because it is not so commercialized (yet) and here, you can appreciate Jade Dragon Snow Mountain right in front of you and experience the Naxi people's peaceful daily life.
Highlight - Wandering around the Baisha Village, you can enjoy the slow lifestyle of the Naxi People and their friendly smiling faces. I personally like Baisha way more than Lijiang Old Town as the village is much less visited by tourists and hence more local and tranquil.
Here you can freely roam around the countryside and enter various courtyards to see the man-made tie-dye artwork hanging for sale or drying in the sun.
As the village becomes more well known among travelers, make sure to check it out before it gets too crowded.

A step back into time!
Baisha is an ancient Naxi town on the tea horse route. It's a mini version of Lijiang. it's very retro and has so many cool bars and cafes. it's not cheap though, a coffee costs about 45rmb. There are amazing views of the mountains You can see Naxi people play traditional music and there are lots of beautiful murals on the wall. You can also buy tie dyed clothes which are beautiful. I will stay here next time, rather than Lijiang. #wintergetaway
Baisha Ancient Town(白沙古镇)
Baisha Ancient Town, about 10km away from Lijiang Old Town, is the oldest town in the 3 towns of Lijiang.
It's famous for its Sifangjie, which was also origin of Suhe Old Town and Lijiang Old Town. I like this Baisha Ancient Town. On one hand, it's still very original, not too commercialized, and the viligers are still living there, and not too many visitors. Some we can still have a chance to get to know their lifestyle. On the other hand, it's so closed to the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. It feels like the snow mountain is the guide for the old town. Quite a chilled place.
But nowadays, more and more mordern shops, hostels are coming into the area. So better go for a visit before it becomes too commercialized.

Yunnan Off-the-Beaten-Path Travel Guide, a hidden ancient village at the foot of the snow-capped mountains
The village tucked away at the foot of the snowy mountains is quiet and serene, and one glance is enough to fall in love with it.
The ancient village, which has been low-key for a thousand years, is full of life. The Naxi people's way of life is even more distinctive here, with natural scenery, pastoral life, and cultural atmosphere, as if this place is a paradise on earth.
This is the place known as the capital of the ancient Naxi Kingdom in Southwest China, Lijiang Baisha Old Town.

How can you miss Baisha Ancient Town in April, where you can enjoy the flowers, go for a spring outing, and stroll through the ancient town
April is the time to visit Yunnan, and the ancient town you can't miss is definitely Baisha Ancient Town. Here, spring is in the air, flowers are blooming profusely, and you can even see the snow-capped mountains. The scenery is so beautiful that it can be found everywhere!
🚗Transportation Strategy:
Carpool or take a taxi (basically 10/person)
It's only 10km away from Lijiang Ancient Town, and it's OK to plan a half-day trip,
There are a lot of fun and delicious things to do, and it's the closest place to the snow mountain where you can
photograph the snow mountain from a café, which is worth a visit to experience the romance here!
✅Highly Recommended:
Baisha Ancient Town is relatively popular, but it has a very local atmosphere. It's nice to wander around here for half a day. Although the ancient town is not big, many shops are very interesting. I recommend the cafés here, usually, they have special photo spots upstairs, where you can see the beautiful snow-capped mountains opposite.
① Mantou Poet: Must-visit for the queue of fresh flower steamed buns, starts selling at 9:30 am, and again at 3:30 pm
② Baisha Thatched Cottage: Fire pit craft beer bar, you can have afternoon tea during the day, and there is a bonfire party every night at 7:30
③ 7 sea Café: The second floor is the best spot for a photo with the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain
④ Hexi Café: Opposite 7sea, this spot is also good for taking photos
⑤ Liwei Fang Snow Mountain View Restaurant: The second floor offers views of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain
In summary, although Baisha Ancient Town is not that big, it has more of a local feel. Staying here quietly for five days, you will definitely be able to appreciate the local cuisine and beautiful scenery
I am wondering who turned Lijiang into a fairy tale world
🎄Spring is the off-season in Yunnan, and the climate is also nice
🎄It is also the most beautiful time for scenery, don't miss the chance to take great photos📸!
🛶Travel Tips:
Clothing: You really don't need to bring too many clothes to Yunnan, just an overcoat for sun protection or for wearing at night is enough, and you can buy a nice dress in Dali ancient town for about an average price of 70 yuan, along with matching bags and shawls~😍
📌Weather: Just bring an umbrella for both sunny and rainy days, it will come in handy😄
📌It is suggested that only those who have bought tickets to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain go to Ganhaizi to see the sun shining on the golden mountain, because there is an additional charge of 100 yuan per person to enter the mountain. If you didn't get a ticket, it's recommended to go to Dongba Valley to see.
📌To climb Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, you need to grab a ticket at 8 pm the night before at 'Lijiang Tourism Group - Ticket Reservation - Snow Mountain Ticket - Glacier Park Cableway', and fill in your information in advance;
📌After climbing Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, you need to take the large cableway down, and then take a sightseeing bus to Yunsongping or Blue Moon Valley.
The large cableway should be taken according to the time slot, and if you miss the small cableway, they will still let you take it.
📌Shuhe Ancient Town: Quiet and suitable for a leisurely stroll, with beautiful alleys everywhere, the deeper you go, the more primitive and peaceful it becomes
📌Baisha Ancient Town is also great to visit, located at the foot of the snow mountain, with many coffee shops worth visiting, truly leisurely and comfortable.
📌Erhai Lake: Definitely recommend cycling in the Haxi Ecological Corridor, cars are not allowed in the ecological corridor!
📌Ideal State: You can get the feel of Santorini in Dali without going abroad, ~ take lots of great photos📸!

Welcome to the world-class ancient kingdom of the Naxi people, the Baisha Old Town in Lijiang, a UNESCO World Heritage Site 🙇🏻.
Welcome to the world-class ancient kingdom of the Naxi people, the Baisha Old Town in Lijiang, a UNESCO World Heritage Site 🙇🏻.
🍀 Nestled about 10 kilometers north of Lijiang city, Baisha Old Town is bordered by the majestic Jade Dragon Snow Mountain to the north, Dragon Spring to the south, and relies on Zhishan to the west. It is the ancient capital of the Naxi people, the world-class "Ancient Naxi Kingdom", and was once the center of Naxi's political, economic, commercial, and cultural life.
❣️ Some say that Baisha is reminiscent of Lijiang a decade ago. Here, you will find a quaint commercial street and many local Naxi courtyards, preserving the original appearance of the ancient town. Moreover, a glance upward reveals the breathtaking view of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain.
📝 The souvenir shops mainly sell two types of items: tie-dye products and various antique replicas. There are also some cafes and snack bars. Compared to the bustling commercial atmosphere of Dayan and Shuhe, Baisha Old Town is a relatively tranquil place.
💡 Interestingly, although the streets here are quite old, almost all the doors and windows on the street have stylish English signs. Some shopkeepers can even conduct business in English with foreign tourists. This is because most of the visitors to Baisha in the past were foreigners who preferred the simple and primitive Naxi folk customs, prompting the locals to learn foreign languages.
📝 Address: Baisha Town, Yulong Naxi Autonomous County, Lijiang City
📌 Place Name: Baisha Old Town
🎫 Ticket: Free
💡 Recommended Visit Duration: 1-2 hours
Tips:
① The ancient town is not large, so you don't need to allocate too much time for your visit.
② It is recommended to visit Shuhe Old Town and Baisha Old Town together.
③ There is a bus from Shuhe Old Town to Baisha Old Town, making it very convenient to reach.

-
🚗Transportation:
It is recommended to drive or take a taxi to both ancient towns, as there is public transport but not many buses. Additionally, from Yuhu Village to the village entrance, you need to switch to a sightseeing ferry, or you can walk into the village which takes about twenty minutes
-
✨Some worthwhile experiences:
📍Baisha Ancient Town
"Tibetan costume photo shoot" Renting clothes + makeup + photography, the styles of the clothes are mostly similar
"Artistic shops" There are many interesting and unique shops worth visiting, with handmade crafts that have ethnic characteristics, as well as mass-produced ones. There is a shop that's great for souvenirs, I forgot the name but the entrance says "Send to the future self"
"Food" There is a grilled yak meat skewer at the entrance, blood sausage and rice sausage are delicious, many artistic cafes, everyone goes to 7sea bar and the second floor of Yi Wa Tang to take classic photos of Baisha Ancient Town's signboard➕Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, too many people were queuing so I took the photo at the first floor entrance which can also frame the same scene📸
"Specialty stores" Visited Liangdou, brought home the 'Baisha Memory' flavor
·
📍Yuhu Village
"Café" It feels like the whole village is at Pushi, climbing up to the roof to see the snow mountain, but I have to admit it's indeed beautiful
"Food" Most are local restaurants and there are also street barbecue stalls, there is a bakery with a photogenic entrance
-
🏨Accommodation:
It is recommended to stay in Dayan Ancient Town, which is more lively at night, or around the old town, which is convenient for dining and visiting the old town, and there is also a parking lot🅿️

🙋🏻♀️Hello, I am Jiang Zaiye, currently traveling around the world. Next, I will cross the Dian-Tibet route, let's see more scenery together~
You don't need to plan for eating and drinking in Baisha Ancient Town, as you won't encounter any disappointments
Last time, I only had half a day to stroll around the ancient town, so I definitely wanted to buy some local delicacies.
In the shop with the little dogs named Li Bai and Li Qingzhao, a big bowl of rice noodles for 30 yuan is really quite good, and the owner is so easy-going. When I went to pay as I was leaving, the owner wasn't even there for a moment, so I just paid and left on my own.
The roasted milk is very tasty, and we all gave it high praise. Later, we even asked the owner what ingredients were added, and the owner explained it to us, mentioning that we could also buy them online. My friend chose the rose flavor, and I had the jasmine flavor, both delicious.
Steamed buns and meat buns, the buns are quite fragrant, and the steamed bread is just steamed bread.
Picture 2 is something super sticky. The skin is different, but the filling is the same, not bad, slightly sweet.
Erkuai and milk fan, I finally got to try them!! Erkuai is a local breakfast, totally to my taste, and quite clean. Milk fan is also good, but my teeth aren't great, so it was a bit hard to chew.
Just walking along, stopping here and there to eat, I didn't really do any research, just bought whatever I saw, and didn't have a single bad experience. Rice noodles, roasted milk, and erkuai are my three favorites.
Life advice! Visit this ancient town under the snow mountain when you come to Lijiang, then go on
This is Baisha Ancient Town, located in Yulong Naxi Autonomous County, Lijiang City, Yunnan Province, 10 kilometers away from Lijiang Ancient Town. It is north of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, east of Dadu, south of Shuhe, and west of Wenhai. It is a place less than half an hour's drive from the hustle and bustle, where you can find the tranquility of Lijiang away from the busy streets.
Baisha Ancient Town is the earliest settlement area for the Naxi people when they came to the Lijiang basin and has the longest history of human habitation in the entire Naxi region of Lijiang. While developing tourism, it still preserves a large area of Naxi residential buildings. It has not been overdeveloped and is quieter compared to Dayan and Shuhe, and you can see the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain just by looking up.
Baisha Ancient Town is divided into two main parts: the sightseeing street and the Baisha Murals. The Baisha Murals are the town's most famous attraction, painted from the early Ming Dynasty to the early Qing Dynasty, spanning over 300 years, and are a great place to understand the Dongba culture. The Baisha Murals are also one of the four great murals in China, vividly reflecting the ancient Naxi people's inclusive approach to diverse cultures. It is the crystallization of the convergence of multiple religious cultures such as Taoism, Tibetan Buddhism, Han Buddhism, and Dongba religion.
Baisha Ancient Town - Daydreaming is also a form of beauty
Upon arriving at my first destination in Lijiang, I chose Baisha Ancient Town. I only felt the homogenization of ancient towns in Dali and Lijiang, but this small town under the snow mountain changed my perspective. Baisha Ancient Town is not big, and it takes only an hour to stroll around. Throughout the ancient town, you can see leisurely cats and dogs everywhere. There's not much commercialization, just roadside folk singers, documentary photographers, children leading lambs, everything is warm and beautiful.
There are many large dogs, so it's not recommended for friends who are afraid of dogs. As a dog lover, I went to an afternoon tea place where you can pet dogs. Two lazy dogs were lying at the door, basking in the sun to attract customers~ I ordered a Basque cheesecake and rose milk tea. The shop owner was very enthusiastic and showed me the guestbook. I read every message carefully, saw many strangers' stories, happy and sad, a myriad of emotions, understanding different lives. The sunshine was warm, shining on the corner of this little shop, and at that moment, the dogs in the shop actively sought petting... A particularly beautiful afternoon. I will come back again!!!

💞This is the birthplace of the Naxi ethnic group, different from other ancient towns. It is said that Baisha is what Lijiang looked like twenty years ago. From Baisha, you can clearly see the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain! A simple and secluded paradise.
📍Transportation: Baisha Ancient Town is very close to Lijiang and Shuhe Ancient Town. It's only a 15-minute drive from Shuhe Ancient Town. You can take bus No. 6 to Baisha Murals Station to get there, or a taxi or carpool will cost about 10 yuan per person, which is quite reasonable. Here you can enjoy a leisurely half-day.
How to play in Baisha Ancient Town?
✔️Find a coffee shop, order a cup of coffee, watch the snow mountain, and take photos with the snow mountain.
✔️Check out various snacks.
✔️Find a small pub at night and listen to music.
First, let me talk about a few must-visit places in Baisha Ancient Town that I particularly like:
♀️Mantou Poet: You must queue up for the fresh flower steamed buns here. They start selling at 9:30 am and again at 3:30 pm. There are many people in line, and I queued for an hour last time. The steamed buns are big, and they also have meat buns, which I think are even tastier.
♀️Baisha Thatched Cottage: A fireplace craft beer bar, where you can have afternoon tea during the day, and there is a bonfire party every night at 7:30 pm, which is very lively with local features.
♀️Liwei Fang Snow Mountain View Restaurant: Their wild mushroom and free-range chicken hot pot is delicious, and you can see the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain from the second floor.
♀️Baisha Archway: The center of the ancient town, a photo checkpoint, where you can see the snow mountain.
♀️Ke Bu Ke Song: A croissant dessert shop that is particularly delicious. I like their pistachio jam and taro coconut flavor, and they have many other flavors.
♀️Chengbei Postal Goods: A jewelry store that specializes in original postcards and handmade souvenirs. If you like fridge magnets, you can buy them here. I bought one at the time.
😋Food: Smoked pork ribs, chicken bean jelly, Naxi special pot rice noodles, and Naxi mixed pot dishes are a must-try! Pig's trotters with Naxi dipping sauce are so satisfying!
💝Special encounters:
📍A snow mountain doctor with a red hat and a white coat.
📍Self-service grocery store where chatting is free.
This place is never short of interesting souls.
☕️Recommended coffee: 7 sea bar. The second-floor terrace is perfect for taking photos with the snow mountain! Drinking coffee under the snow mountain, a paradise for coffee lovers.
🚗Baisha Ancient Town is very close to Yuhu Village. Navigate to Longnu Lake to get there. Visit the former residence of Joseph Rock in Yuhu Village, and watch the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain by the Longnu Lake, where gentle horses are at the foot of the snow mountain. A natural and free place for great photo shoots!
🚌Local transportation
It's a 20-minute drive from the old town, 40 minutes from the airport, and close to the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain.
I also provide a reference for planning a travel route in Lijiang, which you can save if you like. After leaving the old town, you can explore other places in Lijiang:
D1: Lijiang Old Town - Lashi Sea - Shuhe Ancient Town
D2: Jade Dragon Snow Mountain - Yushuiping (or Maoniuping) - Blue Moon Valley
D3: Baisha Ancient Town - Baisha Wenhai - Yuhu Village - Baihua Garden Listening to Flower Valley
D4: Lugu Lake
When you come to Lijiang, you must visit Baisha Ancient Town, where you can experience the leisurely slow life.
The correct way to open Lijiang tourism, a complete guide for 4 days and 3 nights
From the moment the plane arrives in Lijiang,
your body and soul instantly slow down.
I stayed for a week, living each day leisurely and comfortably.
Spending afternoons in the ancient town, sipping coffee and reading books,
my friends and I all want to retire and laze around here haha.
I've compiled a Lijiang travel guide for everyone, let's go for the holidays!

🏔️【Attraction Recommendations】
❶: Baisha Ancient Town
Stroll around Baisha Ancient Town, buy fresh vegetables and fruits at the market, enjoy a coffee, and relax. The most interesting thing was meeting a group of kids who even invited me to their home for a meal haha. For photography, if the weather is good, the second-floor terrace of the 7 sea bar is perfect for framing the snow mountain in your shots, and don't miss the Mantou Poet, known for their flower buns.
❷: Yushui Village
Located at the foot of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, this is the birthplace of the Naxi culture, where you can get up close with Dongba culture. Highly recommended spots include the Nature God Square, a sacred place for the Naxi people to worship heaven, officials, wind, and gods, as well as the Dragon Waterfall, Folklore Court, Dongba Temple, Lijiang Source, World Memory Heritage Monument, Hehe Courtyard, and Naxi Ancient Music Hall. The coffee at the Wood House Café is rich and delicious! If the world outside the Wood House is bustling, then life inside the Wood House is leisurely. Order an authentic Yunnan coffee, pick a window seat, and have a date with nature.
❸: Wenhai Village
A 40-minute drive from the main town, this hidden paradise in the valley, with grasslands and lakes under the snow mountain, is home to herds of cows and horses. Sitting by the lake and watching the sunset is so pleasant.
❹: Watching the sunrise on the Golden Mountain
Recommended from October to March of the following year, set off in the morning, navigate to 'Xiangyang Village Riding Field' where we booked an entire lake, the reflection in the water paired with the sunrise on the Golden Mountain is too beautiful.
❺: Jade Dragon Snow Mountain
My favorite is Yunsongping, a real-life version of the Emerald City. Lie down on the deep grass and look up at the sky, basking in the sun, as if time has stopped. The water in Blue Moon Valley is so green, like a gem, it's recommended to walk around it.
❺: Shuhe Ancient Town
Lijiang Ancient Town is too noisy, Shuhe Ancient Town is just right. Every little street and alley here is worth slowing down to savor. I recommend Tiger Tooth Coffee House, with its absolutely beautiful courtyard design.
🏨【Accommodation Recommendations】
◽️ Ferry Residence: The guesthouse is very quiet inside Shuhe Ancient Town, with a full sense of design. The skylight in my room even offers a view of the snow mountain, quite stunning.
◽️ Gio Ancient Designer Castle Inn: Hidden in Shuhe Ancient Town is a white castle commemorating Monument Valley, with every detail being quite nice.
I love this small town under the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain more than the ancient town of Lijiang
There is a small town at the foot of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain where you can look up to see the snow-capped mountain, which is 'Baisha Ancient Town'.
-
Compared to the ancient town of Lijiang, which has been commercialized for many years, this place is relatively primitive and still retains a touch of the fireworks of life.
Lijiang Yulong Naxi Autonomous County Baisha Ancient Town.
.
1 Self-driving or taxi: 30 minutes from the ancient town, 60 minutes from the airport
2 Bus: Ancient town-Shuhe-Baisha line, from 8 am to 9 pm, every 20 minutes, 5 yuan.
The morning is quiet with fewer people, many shops are not open, suitable for photography and street walking, especially at sunrise; the afternoon is bustling with more people, all shops are open, suitable for shopping; at night, as tourists gradually leave, the town returns to tranquility, suitable for late-night snacks and strolling.
.
There are both affordable and boutique homestays, it is recommended to stay near the archway, which is the central location, convenient for watching the sunrise in the morning.
Yunwei Collection, Naxi Pure Mixed Pot Cuisine, Ke Bu Ke Song, Mantou Poet, Jar Jar Pu'er Fresh Flower Milk Tea.
.
Baisha Ancient Town Archway
Under the archway is the best spot in the ancient town to watch the sun shine on the Golden Mountain, where you can take photos of people + street + snow mountain in the same frame. It is recommended to use the telephoto end of a camera or mobile phone to compress the space, which makes the snow mountain appear more massive.
College students' four-day, three-night trip to Lijiang, averaging over 500 RMB per person
Day One
In the morning, arrive at Lijiang Ancient Town
1️⃣ Accommodation!
📝Note tips:
⚠️⚠️If you have a suitcase, do not stay inside the ancient town! When booking a homestay, make sure to ask if someone will come to pick you up!
2️⃣For those who like taking photos📸 or want to have a portrait session, you can go to Lijiang Ancient Town during the day, as renting clothes there is very cheap.
👍Most recommended: The daylight is good, and it's not very crowded
Then after wandering around during the day, you can go back to rest for a while, and go out again in the evening. The evening is more lively.
Day Two
📍Detailed address:
Baisha Ancient Town
Set off for Baisha Ancient Town in the morning, it's recommended to take a taxi. The taxi fare is split between two people, costing about a dozen yuan.
Food and drink are all available within Baisha Ancient Town.
Then
📍Detailed address:
Shuhe Ancient Town
You can get there by taxi, I do not recommend going to Shuhe Ancient Town at night. It's best to go during the day when there are fewer people, and even fewer at night. So everyone should go during the day
If you have time in the evening, you can go to Zhongyi Market for a stroll.
Day Three
1️⃣Set off in the morning to Dongba Valley to see the sun shining on the Golden Mountain
It's not recommended to enter the scenic area
2️⃣Jade Dragon Snow Mountain
If you go to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, you might need to spend a few hundred more.
The Hungry Explorer s Journal Yunnan in March is truly beautiful~
If you ask where is the most beautiful place to travel in March? It must be Yunnan, no doubt. Yunnan in March is just explosively beautiful. Due to limited time, I only visited Lijiang, but four days in Lijiang were enough to thoroughly enjoy it~ From Lijiang Ancient Town to Shuhe Ancient Town, it's only about seven or eight kilometers, so taking a taxi is very convenient. Personally, I think it's more convenient to stay in Shuhe Ancient Town, because the area around Lijiang Ancient Town can get a bit congested...
If you want to go to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and Baisha Ancient Town, you can choose to rent a car. The roads are easy to drive on, and you must visit Baisha Ancient Town at least once; many beautiful photos are taken there!
Lijiang Baisha Old Town—Free Attraction|| You're really having a blast!
Baisha Old Town is located about 10 kilometers north of Lijiang City, bordered by the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain to the north, Longquan to the south, and Zhishan to the west. It is the ancient capital of the Naxi people and a world-class 'Ancient Naxi Kingdom,' once the center of politics, economy, trade, and culture for the Naxi in Lijiang.
Baisha Old Town is one of the components of the World Cultural Heritage 'Lijiang Ancient Town,' situated at the foot of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, 10KM north of Lijiang Ancient Town. Baisha Old Town is the birthplace of the Mu family's Tusi regime in Lijiang.
Baisha Old Town is the most characteristic ancient town with Naxi heritage and the most original ecological Naxi village.
Baisha Old Town is the birthplace of the Mu family's Tusi regime. Baisha was the ancient capital of the Naxi people and once the center of politics, economy, trade, and culture in Lijiang. As early as the Tang Dynasty, when the King of Nanzhao conferred the title of 'Beiyue' on the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, the ancestors of the Mu family (who were then the kings of Lijiang) began to build Baisha Street and Beiyue Temple here.
The off-season Baisha Ancient Town is truly an ideal place in life
Visiting Baisha Ancient Town to take photos with little lambs p9, they are really small and cute, it costs 10 yuan per person to take photos, they say there is no time limit, but actually, when someone comes and they want to make money, they will quickly give the turn to the next person... so you have to hurry up and take photos
Baisha Ancient Town is an ancient town under the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, and it has already become very commercialized, but it's still quite nice to stroll around. We came here by carpooling from Yunshanping Blue Moon Valley (20 yuan per person). It's also okay to carpool or take a taxi directly from Lijiang Ancient Town, it's easy to hail a car and quite convenient
This time coming to Baisha was just for the Baisha Bookstore
The windows here with the view of the snow mountain are really too beautiful!!!
You need to queue for the good photo spots, order coffee and go upstairs, but there aren't too many people and you can get in line quickly, everyone is very orderly! The coffee shop is big, and there are many beautiful places in the whole yard!
After taking photos at the coffee shop, you can eat directly in the ancient town, there are also quite a few places to eat here, we just randomly picked one, had the steam pot chicken which tasted not bad, and also bought the Mantou Poet's steamed buns and buns, they are really expensive and not that tasty, not worth buying hahaha
The most successful time to follow the trend was the lively yet serene Baisha Ancient Town
Hello, we are Big Cat and Xiao Zhao, skilled at arranging annual leave for working people, sharing travel logs and tips.
૧(●´৺`●)૭ After coming out from the Yulong Snow Mountain scenic area, we arrived at the capital of the ancient Naxi Kingdom—Baisha Ancient Town.
Accommodation in Lijiang is generally chosen among three ancient towns, and Baisha Ancient Town, compared to Lijiang Ancient Town and Shuhe Ancient Town, has the lowest degree of commercialization. However, during the Spring Festival period, the main street is bustling with people coming and going.
In the ancient town, we had the special big bowl rice noodles and 'shuixingyanghua', and I found that the various mushrooms in Yunnan are really delicious and rich in flavor.
When in Yunnan, try the coffee. The coffee shop we chose has a square courtyard, where customers chat, take photos, sunbathe, or daydream... It feels nice to waste time in such a way.
We sat on the ground, and the aunties at the table next to us spoke with a suffix 'simida', and the girls at the table opposite had the features of people from Guangdong and Guangxi, with people from all over the world enjoying this small piece of heaven and earth together. We took a somewhat 'pretentious' photo with a tripod, haha.
But when we left the main street and turned into the side streets, Baisha Ancient Town immediately became quiet and tranquil, with very few people. Along the roadside fields, Naxi grandmothers were picking vegetables, and after filling a bamboo basket, she walked out of the field, casually blocked the short wooden door, and leisurely walked towards the small courtyard next door...
🌞 The sun slowly sank, and the sunlight softly shone on Yulong Snow Mountain, becoming the gentle backdrop of Baisha Ancient Town.
I often think, how fortunate it is to live beside the snow mountain, where any troubles can be confided to the tranquil mountain for much comfort. I wonder how many stories the lovely Yulong Snow Mountain has heard?
