I'm usually in an out of a museum in under an hour, but the Apartment Museum in Johannesburg was so moving and inspiring I could have stayed for a day. Openend in 2001, this place is huge, and shows you all about the struggles of apartheid, with a focus on the life of the late Nelson Mandela. There are hundreds of artifacts from that time period, as well as photographs and videos. Though you may be able to visit on your own if you have access to a car, it's also easy enough to get to with an organized tour. Make sure you leave yourself a few hours to go through it as it's quite large and there is an initial video that takes about 15-20 mins. Attractions - Landing Joberg and transferring to to Mbombela for Kruger National Park in a thunder storm, White River, Joberg city, Western Cape and Stellenbosch winelands, Table Mountain views, Harmanus Bay whales and white sharks Hotels - starting in Connect Mbombela City, then the Lord Charles in Somerset West, then finishing at Krystal Waters - all hotels were brilliant with great service and food. good to see the South African hospitality sector coming alive again after the plandemic lock down fraud, and being allowed freedom to travel again without a toxic injection that risks heart problems for healthy people. Food & Restaurants - too many to mention!

But fret not, we experience a stay in Protea Hotel By Marriot By Johannesburg True Wanderers, it was a safe and yet wonderful experience. This hotel firstly had an amazing breakfast, with a wide extensive spread and from the balcony of either your room or the breakfast area you are able to catch a glimpse of the african sunrise which is breath taking. The hotel also provides shuttle services straight from your hotel lobby to 3 big local malls. These 3 local malls are huge, and filled with food and shops too! Don't worry this malls are also super safe! So if you are heading to Johannesburg, I recommend this place!

Explore the township of Soweto

Soweto is a neighborhood in Johannesburg that is known as a township. It's an area that black people were forced to live in during the times of apartheid. Very often this was in poor condition, though some people who had more money had really nice houses here too, so don't think it was an area for poor people to live. Nelson Mandela was probably Soweto's best known resident and you can still visit his house. Other interesting spots in Soweto include the two towers that are now used for bungee jumping. Try to find a local restaurant and you can enjoy traditional South African food such as boerewors en mieliepap. Though you can visit the area on your own, by car, it is probably more convenient to go with a tour as the guide can explain everything to you in detail. #createwithtrip #culturewalk
