Portofino Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Defined by many as the world’s most beautiful seaside town, picturesque Portofino intoxicates those who visit the northwestern coast of Liguria. This coastline is part of the Italian Riviera, which extends upwards from the luscious region of Tuscany to the Italian-French border and includes the enthralling rocky stretch, Cinque Terre. Centuries ago, Portofino was a traditional, small, secluded fishing village. Now, with only about 500 permanent residents, Portofino is pocket-sized and barely qualifies as a town. However, its streets and surrounding wilderness come alive in the warm summer months.
From June to September, visitors who want to sunbathe and relax in one of Italy’s most charming places flock to Portofino. The tranquil harbor is filled with gleaming sailboats and larger luxury vessels. The shore is lined with rows of quaint fisherman houses that vary in cheerful pastel colors and stylish bars and cafes. Sailing, diving, hiking, and exploring the coastline, which is filled with exquisite beaches and enchanting villages, are favorite pastimes. Hikers and birdwatchers delight in the immense natural diversity found in the area’s nature reserve, ‘Parco Naturale Regionale di Portofino.’ The vibrantly green and protected Regional Natural Park of Portofino is full of indigenous trees, plants, and animals, hiking trails, and incredible views of the gorgeous gulf and blue sea below.

Piazza De Ferrari Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Genoa: Harbour City in Italy
Second trip to Genoa in Northern Italy: Wandering the narrow alleys of Genoa is a bit like walking in a labyrinth. And the food is just so good!
📍Nice places in Genoa:
•Piazza de Ferrari, a main square with a beautiful fountain and historic buildings
•Seaside neighborhood of Boccadasse with pink and yellow buildings. A lovely fishing village.
•Genoa is the traditional home town of (green) pesto sauce! So better try it here... 🍝
🏨 I prefered to stay at the calmer coast villages, but downtown also has many nice hotels on Trip.

(Published the 1597th travel shot in 56 countries/regions in 5 continents)
Ferrari Square (Piazza de Ferrari) is located in the bustling city streets of Genoa.
The center of the square is a gorgeous large fountain, this fountain has a series of nozzles that spray water into the pool, changing with the beat of the music, dreamlike.
Surrounding the fountain are many important buildings, including the Governor's Mansion, Carlo Felice Theatre, Genoa Stock Exchange, and Baroque-style Jesus Cathedral, etc. These buildings have a long history, most of them are 18th and 19th-century buildings, very distinctive.
To the east of the square is Genoa's main street, "September 20th Street". Not far to the southeast of the square is the former residence where the navigator Columbus lived in his youth. To the west is the Soprana Gate, a building from the earlier twelfth century.
There are also a few small restaurants and cafes with outdoor seating next to the square. When you are tired, you can sit down and have a drink to relax.

Nowadays it is the HQ for Genoa's port authority and was, for a long time, the base for the city's sea trade and customs.
