Guizhou Zhenyuan Ancient Town, the key to Yunnan and Chu, the gateway to Eastern Guizhou The ancient city of Zhenyuan in Guizhou was once known as the 'key to Yunnan and Guizhou, the important town in Eastern Guizhou'. Located at the intersection of the Xiangqian Post Road and the Yuanjiang Waterway, it has existed since the Shang and Yin periods and has a history of more than 2000 years. The convenient water and land transportation hub has made Zhenyuan a major city for boats and cars and a gathering place for goods. By the Qing Dynasty, Zhenyuan's commerce was the 'crown of Guizhou Province'. The Wuyang River is the most famous scenic spot in Guizhou besides the Huangguoshu Waterfall. The smoothly flowing Wuyang River divides the entire Zhenyuan Ancient City into two with a neat S shape, cleverly outlining a Yin and Yang Tai Chi diagram between heaven and earth, and the prefecture and guard city of Zhenyuan are the two points of Yin and Yang in Tai Chi.
