Visiting Nanshan Ski Resort

#travelinginchina Visiting Nanshan Ski Resort was a fun and refreshing winter escape from Beijing. Since it's only about 1.5 hours away, it’s one of the most convenient ski resorts for a quick getaway. First Impressions As I arrived, I saw well-groomed slopes, snowboarders pulling off tricks in the terrain park, and families enjoying their time on beginner-friendly runs. The resort was lively but not overly crowded, which made for a great skiing experience. Skiing Experience For Beginners: The resort has a large area with gentle slopes, perfect for learning. I saw plenty of first-time skiers and families taking lessons with friendly instructors. For Intermediate Skiers: The longer blue and red runs were smooth and fun, giving just the right amount of challenge. For Advanced Skiers & Snowboarders: The Nanshan Mellow Park is the highlight—featuring jumps, rails, and halfpipes for freestyle riders. Watching snowboarders show off their skills was exciting! Other Fun Activities Snow Tubing: If you don’t ski, the snow tubing area is a blast—just sit in a giant inflatable tube and slide down the slope! Après-Ski: After a few hours on the slopes, I warmed up with a hot coffee at Nanshan Café and grabbed a bite at the Alpine Cabin, which serves tasty Western food. Final Thoughts Nanshan is perfect for a day trip or a weekend getaway if you’re in Beijing. It’s beginner-friendly but still offers enough variety for intermediate and advanced skiers.
