Santiago de Compostela is the capital of the autonomous region of Galicia in Spain

According to legend, one of the twelve disciples of Jesus, St. James, is buried here, making it one of the Catholic pilgrimage sites. Since the Middle Ages, pilgrims have been coming here continuously, and a famous pilgrimage route, the Way of St. James, has been formed from various places in France to the north of Spain. In 1985, the old city of Santiago de Compostela was listed as a World Cultural Heritage site.
