Matera is a UNESCO World Heritage city and I can highly recommend to visit. BEST PLACE TO STAY: 🏡 - @santangeloluxuryresort - Amazing luxury resort in the heart of beautiful Matera. We had a wonderful stay and I can highly recommend to stay here. BEST RESTAURANT WITH INCREDIBLE VIEWS: 🍝 - @regiacorterestaurant - Fine Dining with incredible views. This restaurant is amazing and very romantic. Tip: Make sure to book in advance. BEST PLACE FOR PIZZA: 🍕 - @piusud_matera unique pizzeria in a cave. Head here for the most delicious pizza in town. BEST THINGS TO DO: 📸 - Explore the beautiful streets of Sassi di Matera and visit the famous cathedral. -Grab an ice cream at @creme_burea for delicious gelato artigianale. -Take a coffee in the beautiful streets of Sassi di Matera. -Visit the most famous cave church Santa Maria di Idris built in a huge rock. TIP: make sure to bring comfy shoes when exploring Matera. BEST PLACE FOR APERITIVO: 🍹 Make sure to order an Aperol Spriz @crialoss_cafebistrot @Terrazza_cavaliere HOW TO ARRIVE TO MATERA? 🚘 The closest main airport is Bari (Puglia). Make sure to combine your Puglia trip with Matera as it takes only approx 1h by car from Bari (65km) Tip: Matera is also great for a day trip but I highly recommend to stay at least one night. Tip: I highly recommend to rent a car. It is the best option if you are planning to visit Matera and Puglia.
