Crispy pata, kare-kare, and halo-halo are some of their best-selling items. The relaxed and laid-back atmosphere of Kuya J Restaurant is ideal for enjoying home-cooked Filipino cuisine. In terms of branding, the restaurant does an excellent job of projecting a friendly and welcoming image, analogous to a big brother (KUYA) who is eager to look after his younger siblings. For starters, we ordered cheesy grilled scallops, lumpiang shanghai, a plate of chop suey as a side dish, then roast chicken and pansit as main courses. We shared two glasses of ube halo-halo espesyal for dessert. After a significant period of preparation time, the food was served. The aromas of the food, particularly the grilled scallops, filled the room. We started with the grilled scallops, which were delicious. The scallops were big and juicy, and the cheese and butter added to the sweetness. The hint of smokiness added another layer of flavor to this dish because it was grilled. Meanwhile, the sisig was still as excellent as I remembered it. The chicken, lumpiang shanghai, chopsuey were all tasty and sumptuous.
