There are four sculptures in this group, and from the entrance they are "Ship of the Desert", "Heroic Spirit of the Han Dynasty", "Dearest of the Earth" and "Endless Realm". ✅Son of the Earth: A child lies quietly in the arms of Mother Earth, sleeping on the Silk Road, sleeping in a civilization of more than 5,000 years. It is carved from red sandstone in blocks and then pieced together. The image is a giant baby in a dream. Because there is nothing around, it looks like the son of the earth when viewed from the sky. You will be even more shocked when you walk up to it. The originally small baby has become very big. The huge baby is nestled tightly in the arms of Mother Earth and sleeps quietly, symbolizing the harmonious coexistence of man and nature. ✅Boundless: About 500 meters away from the Son of the Earth is a "mirage" in the desert. The inspiration for its creation is said to come from the Mogao Grottoes. It is a completely hollow steel frame building. From a distance, it looks like a mirage in the Gobi Desert. This is the theme sculpture of "Haishichenlou Project" designed and produced by the Sculpture Department of the Academy of Fine Arts of Tsinghua University "Boundless" uses modern building materials as a carrier to convey the spirit and civilization of the Silk Road with visual language. It is built with countless scaffoldings. The mirage in the desert is particularly charming at sunrise in the early morning and sunset in the evening. ✅The glory of Emperor Wu of Han: There is a statue of Emperor Wu of Han in the Guazhou area of ​​the Hexi Corridor. The statue only has a head but no torso. Probably the entire land of the Hexi Corridor is his body. Wherever the invaders can go, I can go too. He is the great emperor who opened up the Hexi Corridor. The names of the four cities of Wuwei, Zhangye, Jiuquan and Dunhuang have been used for more than two thousand years. These are the four counties that Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty occupied in the two passes. The two passes are: Yangguan and Yumenguan. The spring breeze does not reach Yumenguan, and there are no old friends west of Yangguan. In ancient times, passing these two checkpoints meant entering the Western Regions. These sculptures are not only masterpieces of art, but also witnesses of history. They allow us to get a glimpse of the glory of the ancient Silk Road and feel the civilization heritage that transcends time and space.
