Station 6 in Colorado Mount Blue Sky Challenged not to breathe oxygen at an altitude of 4,300 meters! The mountains loom close and distant, their peaks layered upon each other. We ascended along the winding mountain road, with a sense of impending storm. We saw snow-covered goats on the mountains and delicate flowers on the highland meadows, as well as vegetation clinging to rocky crevices. We were struck by the tenacity of life and felt that protecting this fragile high-altitude ecosystem was both urgent and crucial.
