Peace Memorial Park - Hiroshima Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Hiroshima Peace Park, a beautiful tribute.
Hiroshima was devastated by the first atomic bomb and the city has become a focal point for the global peace movement.
The Hiroshima peace park is situated at the epicentre of the bomb blast and has become a place of salvation for those seeking to understand what happened that day.
The peace dome building remains as it stood after the blast, the iconic dome sitting as one of the only things that remain from 1945 Hiroshima.
The park itself has numerous memorials throughout and of course the main peace museum.
It’s worth going early to avoid crowds and queues at the various memorials and museum

Hiroshima City Flower Festival
The Hiroshima Flower Festival is a symbol of Golden Week in Hiroshima. Its history dates back to 1975 when the Hiroshima Carp baseball team won their first championship and celebrated with a victory parade through the city.
Since the pandemic, this year marks the first May festival in five years, and it has been blessed with fine weather, resulting in a large turnout.
The main venue is the Tower of Flowers in the Peace Memorial Park, but the festive mood is heightened by the numerous food stalls packed along the main roads.
In the evening, the area becomes a pedestrian paradise, and walking on the road offers a taste of the extraordinary.
However, caution is needed as there are often cars with license plates from outside the prefecture that get lost and enter the pedestrian zone.

This is tempura momiji, one of Japan’s unique dish that originated from Hiroshima. Momiji means maple leaf in Japanese. Tempura momiji is a dish where they use homemade cake-like bun filled with different fillings and fry them with tempura batter. It’s very tasty! This shop is located in Miyajima, a 10 minutes ferry ride from Miyajimaguchi station. It takes around 30 mins bus ride from hiroshima station to miyajimaguchi station. There are lots of things to see and lots of food to try on this island~ Please do lah a visit there ~ It is best to visit during Sakura season where you can enjoy the view and food at the same time ~
Birds View of Miyajima Island
When visiting Miyajima Island in Japan, you have the option to climb up to Mt. Misen to see the whole island from its highest point.
My favourite part of this journey is the breeze you get when you reach the very top. It was by no means a easy walk as paths aren’t properly crafted. On the way up to the peak you’ll see tons of geographical land formations, small temples and even mini statues that some people dress up! It is absolutely adorable!
At the peak of the mountain there is a lookout point where you can enjoy the success of your trek up the mountain. Something cool about being here is that you can see the even smaller island where they grow and harvest oysters. I’ve been told that the way oysters are grown and harvested in Hiroshima is unique as they wait for them to weigh down the wooden planks before harvesting them. Hence ensuring they are fat and juicy for consumption.

Miyajima and deers of God
Miyajima is a small island located in Hiroshima Bay, Japan, and is famous for its floating torii gate, one of Japan's most iconic landmarks and third priest place in all of Japan.
Visiting Miyajima is easy with a regular 15min ferry. Itsukushima Shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that dates back to the 6th century is the main attraction. Its iconic torii gate appears to float on the water during high tide, and is accessible on foot during low tide.
There are other landmark attractions but perhaps the second most fascinating thing to see is the wild dear! They are considered a divine animal and roam freely. They purposefully approach visitors in search of food. Be careful though - they will eat everything, including your papers, hair and clothing if you let them!
Miyajima is famous for its oysters, which are considered some of the best in Japan. The island has many street vendors selling local specialties such as momiji manju - maple leaf-shaped cakes filled with sweet bean paste, and "deer poop ice cream". I'd recommend spending at least two hours on the island or longer if you'd like to stay for a meal.

#tripaway What is the first thing that comes into your mind when you think of Hiroshima? Personally, I will think about the Hiroshima tragic bombing in 1945. In A bomb Dome at Peace Memorial Park, you can visit various places that are dedicated to the tragic Hiroshima atomic bombing. I was so astonished to see the partly destroyed dome despite its closeness to the hypocenter of the bombing. Instead of completely demolishing it, I am glad that the Japanese chose to preserve the building to show the world the horror of the bombing.

Hipster Ray fell in love with Hiroshima. If you want to know more about how to travel in Hiroshima, follow us!
Hiroshima Peace Memorial, also called the Atomic Bomb Dome or A-Bomb Dome , is in central Hiroshima, Japan. It is part of the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. UNESCO named the dome a World Heritage Site in 1996. The dome is the ruined Hiroshima Prefectural Products Exhibition Hall. It was kept as a memorial to the people who were killed in the atomic bombing of Hiroshima on August 6, 1945. The bombing killed 70,000 people instantly, and another 70,000 died later from the radiation. #wintergetaway

Seto Inland Sea
Surprisingly, there are 727 islands in the Seto Inland Sea. These islands lie between the Japanese main islands of Honshu, Shikoku and Kyushu. Its mild climate and relaxing atmosphere often compare with Mediterranean islands. One of the best ways to enjoy the stunning islands in Seto Inland Sea is cycling on Shimanami Kaido which is a cycling trail that connects Ehime prefecture and Hiroshima prefecture.

From the gentle and artistic wind of the Seto Inland Sea
Naoshima, Teshima, Shodoshima are classic Seto Inland Sea island hopping routes. As a seasick patient, I finally plucked up the courage to walk once. The islands and the sea are beautiful, but I don't think I will go again. The pictures are a bit messy, because I can't remember which is which
【Hotel on the island】
The most impressive is the hotel GLAMPROOK Shimanimi in pictures 345. Located on the horse island in the Seto Inland Sea, the transportation is slightly inconvenient. You have to take a boat from the Ehime Prefecture Imabari Port in picture 6 to the hotel by water. If you take the land route, you will lose a bit of ceremonial sense, and it is not very convenient. However, this super niche hotel, dinner and breakfast are exceptionally delicious, and all kinds of wines are all put on the topic, it is a good place to empty yourself and feel the flow of time. Pictures 789 are the international hotel on Shodoshima, the room is facing the famous attraction Angel Road, besides this, there seems to be nothing special.
Although the islands are not far from each other, you can basically reach another island by boat in 1 hour. But the number of boats is not as many as trams, waiting for a boat is too time-consuming, it is better to live on the island and be a temporary islander. If you are really in a hurry, you can call a taxi boat, I haven't tried it, so I won't introduce it.
I jumped 4 islands this time, among which Shodoshima is the largest, and the other islands can be measured by foot. If you are not used to walking, you can rent a bicycle, facing the wind of the Seto Inland Sea, it is very romantic. In addition to this, there are buses and taxis, and the transportation on the island is generally convenient.
The reason why this classic route is classic is because of the strong artistic atmosphere. These islands are like the battlefield of various design masters. Every few steps is a baptism of art. Since there are many photos of these art galleries and shapes on the Internet, I won't put more. In addition to these art galleries, the cafes and restaurants on the island are also very interesting. I have experienced a few casually, and none of them have stepped on thunder. Here, the famous Seto Art Festival is held every once in a while. I will see if I want to slap myself in the face and come again next time

Embark on a new journey in the new year by touring the four countries of Japan
❤Take a short break from Tokyo and Osaka, avoid the crowd, take a different path, and let us tour the four countries and enjoy the stunning beauty of the Seto Inland Sea.
👍With Kagawa, Tokushima, Kochi and Ehime living alone in the four countries, and looking at Okayama and Hiroshima in the four countries from afar, surrounded by a narrow sea area, known as the Seto Inland Sea, as the "Seto Inland Region" land, naturally enjoy the marine climate brought by the Seto Inland Sea, the combination of sea and land, constitutes the unique natural beauty of Seto Inland.
🚉There are international flights, in addition to direct flights to the four-country region from Shanghai, flights from other domestic cities need to transfer, which is still convenient. If you want to tour the four-country region, you can start by choosing a good landing city.
🖼Whether it's a popular scenic spot or a niche attraction, the time arrangement needs to be arranged according to the regional ride, generally 10 to 15 days is a good time range, and the travel depends on the Shinkansen and local trains.
✅Four countries recommendation:
📍Kagawa Kintohiro Palace: A tourist attraction with strong religious colors in Kagawa Prefecture.

Japan Going to Hiroshima to see cherry blossoms Dream of Hiroshima City
"Hiroshima Love" This song has been heard by many people. How many people will choose to see cherry blossoms in Hiroshima? The cherry blossom festival for the sixth consecutive year was spent in Japan, and I chose different places to see cherry blossoms.
Spring in Hiroshima, Japan, avoiding the crowded tourist groups in Kyoto, Osaka, and avoiding the crowds of Tokyo Ueno Park.
In downtown Hiroshima, you can go to Hiroshima Castle to see cherry blossoms in the evening and one sunrise. Mainly the building with Hiroshima Castle is particularly beautiful, the key is that there are few people!
The cherry blossoms in Hiroshima City have been opened for the second time. The white cherry blossoms are like a piece of snow, beautiful like a fantasy, time is short. Especially in the evening, the golden sun and the white cherry blossoms are too dreamy.
Hiroshima City and the opposite park are very nice, you can stay for half a day to take pictures, no tickets.
Hiroshima Castle.
Visiting Hiroshima Castle in Japan was a delightful historical journey. I enjoyed traveling to places that reflect the history and culture of the area.
I walked around the corridors of the castle and climbed the stairs to enjoy the wonderful view of the city. I also enjoyed the beauty of the gardens surrounding the castle and took a tour around it. It was an interesting and enjoyable experience that left me with beautiful memories and valuable insights into the history of Hiroshima and Japan.
