Forest Leisure Resort - Guiyang Denggao Yunshan Forest Park

Guiyang is a city that truly lives up to its reputation as a mountain city, nestled among the surrounding mountains; Guiyang is also a city that truly lives up to its reputation as a forest city, with dense forests covering the mountains that encircle the city. In the mid-20th century, a ring of forest belts was built around Guiyang, serving not only as greenery but also as an important research base for subtropical plateau plants in China, with several forest farms distributed among them, providing a verdant environment that earned Guiyang the nickname 'Forest City'. As time has progressed and the economic level has improved, Guiyang has gradually transformed the forest belt around the city into forest parks open to the public. The Guiyang Forest Park on Tuyun Pass is located to the southeast of the city, the forest park on Luchong Pass is directly to the north, and the forest park on Qianling Mountain is to the west. In recent years, filling the gap in the northeast of the city is the Guiyang Denggao Yunshan Forest Park, a forest leisure resort that has been a key focus for the city. Denggao Yunshan Forest Park is located to the northeast of Guiyang, surrounded by the Yunyan and Wudang districts. This mountainous area was originally part of the Guiyang Shunhai Forest Farm, covering an area of over 5 square kilometers, with about 2 square kilometers developed into the forest park. The lush forest is surrounded by the bustling city, making it a true green heart of the urban area. The vegetation of Denggao Yunshan Forest Park is mainly composed of subtropical evergreen and deciduous mixed forests, with tall pines, cypresses, and firs standing upright, forming the main landscape of the park. Scattered across the valleys' flatlands are a series of small ornamental plant gardens such as the rose garden, cherry blossom garden, and landscape garden, creating a touring pattern that is well-arranged and interspersed with flowers and trees. Denggao Yunshan Forest Park has three entrances. The main entrance is located on the eastern section of Guiyang's Middle Ring Road. This is the specially constructed welcoming gate of the park, just a stone's throw away from the BRT Denggao Yunshan Station. However, parking resources near this entrance are tight, so driving is not highly recommended; the north entrance is located on the ramp of the overpass where Xintian Avenue turns right onto the Middle Ring Road, and it is recommended for drivers to enter from here, just navigate to Yunshan Garden to arrive; the west entrance is quite hidden, located in Guiyang Haitian Park's War of Resistance Memorial Park, generally hard to find, and not recommended for use. Denggao Yunshan Forest Park is vast, covering an area of over 2 square kilometers with more than ten kilometers of mountain trails and dozens of scenic spots. To fully appreciate each one, it would take two to three days, and even a brief visit would require at least half a day. It is a very suitable place for leisurely passing the time in a large park. The park, being newly built in recent years, is very well-equipped, from amusement facilities to vending machines, making it very convenient.
