A must visit in Fes, Morocco

This is the largest of the tanneries in the Fez medina...You know you're near a tannery when you smell the strong waft of decay and just follow it to find one of the tanneries..Don't ever believe any young kid who hangs around the entrance asking for a fee...Walk past them and the tannery folk will gladly guide you through the process...They'll give you a mint leaf stalk to hold under your nose in case you can't take the stench of the drying skins...The white pits are used to soak the raw goat and sheep skin in some solution to clean them before the dye process starts on the pits to the right...They do one colour for each day and dry the skins on the terraces which causes the stench...#mytripvlog #2023travelwish #morocco
