Citywalk, a library with a strong Beijing flavor in the corner tower, Beijing

Located on the banks of the moat at Zuo'anmen in Beijing, the corner tower library has been open for many years. The big red pillars in the ancient building's corner tower remain, and the blue bricks and gray tiles have become elements of the interior decoration. Bookshelves are placed in the corner tower, with books neatly categorized. On the walls, the beams are decorated with auspicious cloud patterns, as well as persimmon trees and flower arrangements, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of a small Beijing courtyard. There are various specialty bookshelves, such as one entirely dedicated to books about the Forbidden City. The children's area has books and multimedia for learning to paint. When I visited on a weekday afternoon, there weren't many readers, some were working quietly and comfortably on their computers at the tables. The corner tower library hosts various activities on weekends, talking about the past and present of old Beijing, culture, tradition, teaching children to make traditional Beijing toys, and various lectures. On the first floor, there is a display of traditional Beijing artifacts. The corner tower library has become a place for residents to study, relax, and bring their children to play. The corner tower library is near Longtan East Road, less than a ten-minute walk from the east gate of Longtan Park. No procedures are required to enter the library, which opens at 9 am. The third floor of the corner tower is open in the morning, offering a view of the moat. Closed on Mondays.
