Hinterstoder travel guide and discussion

#skitrip Hinterstoder absolutely delivered the ski day I'd dreamed of! As Upper Austria's largest resort and a regular Ski World Cup venue, this place breathes alpine excellence . I conquered the legendary Hannes Trinkl World Cup run—carving where champions race, with that thrilling steep pitch that gets your heart pounding . The 40km of slopes from 600 to 2,000 meters offer something for everyone. The Panorama runs from Schafkogel peak served up jaw-dropping views across the Totes Gebirge mountains . For fun, I hit the Snow Park's rails and jumps . Après at Lögerhütt'n with mulled wine and mountain views was pure perfection. Compact but world-class—Hinterstoder is Austrian skiing at its finest! #Hinterstoder #SkiAustria #WorldCupSkiing #TotesGebirge

Hidden in the Austrian Alps, Schiederweiher is one of those places that feels almost unreal. Surrounded by crystal clear water, dense forests, and the dramatic peaks of the Totes Gebirge, it’s easy to see why this small lake is often considered one of the most beautiful spots in Austria. The walk to Schiederweiher is short and easy, making it accessible for almost everyone. In less than 30 minutes from the parking area in Hinterstoder, you’ll reach the famous wooden bridge overlooking the lake. This is the viewpoint you’ve probably seen in photos, where the still water perfectly reflects the surrounding mountains on calm days. Although many visitors come just for the iconic viewpoint, it’s worth taking your time to walk around the lake and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. The area is especially beautiful early in the morning, when the water is calm and the crowds are still away. In autumn, the colourful trees create spectacular reflections, while winter transforms the landscape into a quiet snowy wonderland. 💡 Travel tips: · Visit early in the morning for the best reflections and the fewest visitors. · Wear comfortable shoes, as the path can be muddy after rain. · Combine your visit with a stop in the charming village of Hinterstoder or explore one of the nearby hiking trails. · Bring a wide angle lens if you enjoy photography, as the scenery is incredible from every direction. Schiederweiher may not be as famous as Hallstatt or the Austrian Alps’ biggest attractions, but that’s exactly what makes it so special. It’s a peaceful place where you can slow down, enjoy nature, and experience one of Austria’s most photogenic landscapes. #Schiederweiher #Austria #Hinterstoder #AustrianAlps #NatureLovers #HiddenGem #MountainLake #ExploreAustria #TravelPhotography #ScenicViews #EuropeTravel #TripMoments #OutdoorAdventure #BucketList #TravelInspiration

#skitrip Hinterstoder delivered the most thrilling ski day of my winter! As Upper Austria's premier ski resort and the region's only Ski World Cup venue, this place offers pure alpine adrenaline . From the moment I stepped onto the Hössbahn gondola, the dramatic panorama of the Totes Gebirge mountains unfolded—the mighty Großer and Kleiner Priel towering above snow-dusted slopes . The skiing is absolutely world-class with 40 kilometers of perfectly groomed runs spanning from 600 to 2,000 meters . The highlight? Carving down the legendary Hannes Trinkl World Cup run, named after the 2000 Kitzbühel winner . For thrill-seekers, the infamous Inferno Piste with its terrifying 70 percent gradient tested every ounce of my skill—steep, challenging, and utterly unforgettable . #Hinterstoder #SkiAustria #WorldCupSkiing #TotesGebirge
