We had a lovely stay at Yujian No.8 in Huangshan Tunxi Old Street. The room was very spacious and beautifully designed with an artistic and elegant touch, creating a warm and unique atmosphere.
The location is perfect, right in the heart of Tunxi Old Street. It was very convenient to simply step outside and enjoy walking along the historic street, exploring the shops, local snacks, and the charming surroundings.
The butler service was excellent. They kindly helped us arrange transportation to Huangshan Scenic Area and also to the railway station, which made our travel very smooth and convenient. They also provided great recommendations for delicious local food.
Their warm hospitality truly made our stay more enjoyable. Overall, it was a delightful experience and a perfect place to stay while visiting Huangshan.

The public areas are particularly impressive. There's a dedicated movie viewing area, roasted sweet potatoes, a free Hanfu (traditional Han clothing) changing area, and a workspace. Breakfast is also available on the third-floor balcony.
This breakfast was one of the best I've ever had. While the selection wasn't extensive, the taste was excellent. The soy milk was delicious, and they also offered freshly made wontons or bamboo shoot noodles.
The third-floor terrace had a fantastic view; you could see the waters of Qishu Lake.
During my stay, they even offered white fungus and pear soup. On the day we left, it was so crowded we couldn't get a taxi, and the owner personally took us to the station.
Overall, the hotel's decor is aesthetically pleasing. The public areas are large and spacious, the rooms are clean, and the bedding is nice and comfortable. Our family room had a view of a bamboo forest, giving us a feeling of being close to nature. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends or choose it again for my next stay.

This was our second time staying at this hotel, and once again, they went above and beyond to make our stay special. We requested a room with a good view, and they graciously upgraded us. The staff were incredibly helpful, assisting us with arrangements to and from the train station and even for our trip to Hongcun Village.
We also appreciated the complimentary drinks and the thoughtful little gifts they prepared for us when we checked out. Thank you to the entire team for making our visit so wonderful. We can’t wait to return!

Staying at a high-end hotel nowadays is all about the emotional value, and this hotel nailed it! 😂 They offered complimentary afternoon tea and late-night snacks, and even organized a glutinous rice dumpling-making event for the Lantern Festival. If you want to see the fish lanterns, you can't really see them from the main square, only from the bridge. But the whole point of staying here is to watch the fish lanterns without the crowds. You win some, you lose some! Finally, the parting gifts were also excellent and clearly thoughtfully chosen. I'd love to come back in the summer when the lotus pond is in full bloom! On a side note, the food at the hotel's Ouyuan Restaurant was delicious; I ate there two days in a row.

There is a small hotel located halfway up the mountain in the scenic area. It is clean and tidy. I booked a room where I could see the stars. We arrived in the evening and ordered a pot of chicken soup in advance, with two vegetarian dishes and a bowl of noodles. The meal was very good for four people. The breakfast is also very rich, and there is yogurt, which is very good in the B&B. I got up at six in the morning and went to burn some morning incense. After coming back and having breakfast, we went to Yueshen Hall, Huacheng Temple, Baisui Palace and other places. There were too many people taking the cable car, so I decided to go down the mountain decisively. It was a complete success.

Location: Walking distance from the gate entrance for free and easy travellers like us. Not far from all the main attractions in the town area. one of the cable car stations is just 2 minutes away and the bus to the other cable car station (to TianTai temple) is 5-10 minutes walk away.
The hotel also has a small restaurant. convenient if you just want to stay at the hotel at night.
The hotel next door offers great lunch and dinner buffet. We loved the spread.
Only thing that you need to take note is the hotel is located slight higher up the hill, need to walk up/down staircases to get there.

I had an outstanding stay at this hotel and can wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. The service was first-class. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive and they made me feel genuinely welcome from the moment I arrived. When I told them that I planned to hike 黄山 (Huangshan), they took the time to help me choose the best route based on my experience and preferences, offering valuable tips. My room itself was spacious, perfectly equipped with everything one needs and very clean. One of the highlights was the large window, which offered a beautiful view of the mountain range. Another absolute highlight is the rooftop terrace of the hotel. It is a wonderful place to relax after a long day of hiking, and it offers the best view of the mountain in the entire town.
The location of the hotel is also extremely convenient, with several convenience stores and many restaurants right next to the hotel. The hotel staff can even arrange pick-up and drop-off at the next highspeed railway station with a cheaper fare than a regular taxi or a bus. I would definitely stay here again!

Excellent service from all their team members in hotel from reception desk to breakfast team. A must stay when in Tunxi, Huangshan as the hotel location is the best with a short walk to Tunxi Old Quarters. Great service all around and even served warm milk and fruits on arrival and their specialities candies on departure. They even offered to change us to a twin room upon our arrival when they realised I'm travelling with my dad. Great hospitality from Hui Leisure Inn

Overnight in Hongcun, half mountain and half water ✔
I booked this hotel while visiting Hongcun. I arrived at the scenic area at 6 PM. The hostess came with a cart to pick up my luggage. The entrance to the B&B is decorated in the Huizhou style. We booked a duplex on a last-minute basis; my friend prefers older buildings. We made do with it for one night. The highlight of this place is the terrace. From the top, you can enjoy the entire Hongcun nightscape. For the price, this hotel is quite good, and I'll also review it on the reviews page.

Excellent
Highly recommend this home stay for first night of a Huangshan mountain weekend adventure. Pros: very clean, comfortable bed and linens, good shower pressure. The host was very welcoming and considerate -in the morning, offered to drive me to the nearby transfer bus station from Tangkou to Huangshan Yungu cable car. Breakfast was simple but good -warm noodles with fried eggs. I travelled solo but noticed several of the rooms look perfect for families. I’ll share a few notes regarding visiting Huangshan: 1) easy 2 night weekend from Shanghai. I took high speed train at 5pm Friday, arrived Huangshan station around 8 pm. It’s a roughly 1 hr taxi or Didi ride to Tangkou area. This home stay is ~1 km outside of Tangkou tourist center (which I liked, more peaceful). 2) All entry into Huangshan scenic area must be via park bus (ie can not taxi directly to cable car station). As mentioned, host offered to drive to bus station which was very nice. 3) I find China loves complicated ticketing and queuing systems -this didn’t disappoint . At the bus station, you go to a booth to make a reservation for park entry. Then, another booths for cable car. After queuing and riding cable car, you buy another ticket, using reservation, at top of mountain for park entry. Good news, many of the counter staff in Huangshan speak English. 3) For second night, I stayed in park at Paiyun (good, will review separately). Paiyun, Xihai, and Beihai are all just minutes apart. All three appear of similar quality and service and are in great central location for hiking. 4) On Sunday morning, rose at 5:00 to view 5:40 sunrise at viewing platform just behind and up the hill from Paiyun (10 min climb). I was surprised at the number of early risers gathered. Breakfast at 6:30, returned to Yungu cable car for a solo ride back to bus. Bus to Tangkou. Taxi to Huangshan north station. Easily was able to make a 10:30 am departure for Shanghai, arriving at 1 pm. 5) this may sound like a short trip but it afforded climbing every peak and vista on the East side of Huangshan on Saturday at a fairly leisurely pace. Hope these random notes help! Huangshan is beautiful, worth the trip, and if you can manage climbing lots of steps it is easy to navigate. Cheers!
I had a good stay here. The room was large and had a nice sunroom attached, the cafe in the lobby was also pleasant. It’s a very short walk to the mountain entrance and the host was very helpful with giving advice for hiking routes, buying tickets, and recommending restaurants. He also speaks fluent English, which is nice for international travelers.
The accommodation has a free shuttle to/from the station, definitely a plus! It's only a 10 minute walk, but 10 minutes with heavy luggage is something you could miss. It’s a bit inconvenient that you have to call them to actually book the shuttle, because I don’t speak Mandarin and they don’t speak English, so a call would not be possible, but maybe that’s something that Trip could improve on. When I checked out, the lady told me (through a translation app) that she could drop me off at the station, which I was very happy about. When I checked in, I got a room upgrade as well. I was alone so I didn’t really need two beds, but the the huge room was very nice after all those bunk beds in hostels! They also offer a carpooling service to the ticket office/entrance of Huangshan for a good price! Just tell them the night before that you’d like to go to Huangshan and they will arrange a shuttle for you (mine was at 7 am in the morning and I just had to message them when I wanted to go back to the hotel in the evening). They can offer sightseeing tips, they can recommend you something to eat. Just ask and they will help you. Sometimes it was just a bit hard to communicate, the woman uses a translation app which works just fine, but the man doesn’t, he tries to explain everything in Mandarin by using gestures, writing it down in Mandarin … but then it’s obviously not easy to understand each other. That aside, they’re both so sweet and helpful. I would stay there again, if I ever come back! Side note, Trip does not give you the correct address of the hotel (in English). Whichever map app I used, it would send me to an open space in the street of the hotel. The hotel is actually located just a bit further next to a (very good!) restaurant, but just ask someone in the street and they will bring you to the reception of the hotel, if you can’t find it. 😉

The owner is also a chef who cooks great meals. One of the best and friendliest hotel owners, and I highly recommend staying here. The rooms are spacious.
A very lovely place and walking distance to the main Tunxi ancient street. Room is new, very clean and bed is comfortable. Boss is helpful with info to get around some of the surroundings ancient cities like Huizhou, Hongcun, Tachuan and etc. more than what I initially planned to do 😆

A very nice and clean hotel. The rooms are new. Everything is clean and very comfortable. The staff is extremely nice. The owner even helped us to call a car to the train station, when we were leaving and it was the same price as the bus, but more comfortable. The place is also very convenient, there are many restaurants around and very close to the big South Gate.
Had a fantastic stay at this beautiful hidden gem. We felt truly welcome from the very first moment, as the hosts were incredibly kind, explaining everything and helping us whenever needed. They even offered us tea both upon arrival and again when we were about to leave. The interior is lovely and creates an authentic, traditional Chinese atmosphere.
