We would like to say a big thanks to all of the staff at the Tong Resort for our short but memorable stay. From a warm welcome to a fond farewell, Tong Resort gives everything you’d hope for. The hardware was all in good working order, the level of cleanliness was excellent and the service is on par or even better than international-level 5-star hotels such as The Ritz-Carlton. Quite outstanding! The hotel reached out to me prior to arrival day for check-in and special occasion arrangements. The hotel has a WeChat private service group where all of your requests can be disseminated at ease; with the nature of our trip being a birthday surprise celebration it was rather effective! The hotel offers private car pick-up service from Yangshuo Railway Station or you may also choose Didi. Upon arrival at Tong Resort, we were presented with welcome drinks, invited to be seated and were promptly escorted to our room. You can tell they have placed a lot of thought into the room features and design; they even embroidered the hotel logo into their bed linen. The hotel offers shuttle car services to and from West Street, this is one of the most famous global streets in China which is a must visit for all Yangshuo travelers. When we arrived back at the hotel, we were spoilt with free late night snacks sent to our room and most importantly the hotel did not forget about the birthday cake which was timely delivered at 00:00. The breakfast by the swimming pool was scrumptious. There is a choice between Asian and Western and you can select as many items as you wish from the menu which in turn gets freshly prepared for you. The team is doing such a good job; although the hotel has only been opened for 2 years, it seems as though the staff as been trained for over 10 years! What’s more, after check out whilst we were waiting at the lobby for Didi, a staff member had the attentiveness to place down glasses of water which she had no obligation for doing. What a nice gesture! At the end, essentially it’s these finer touches that sets a hotel from its counterparts.

Today I checked into the Huamengjian Hotel. They have Chinese-style decoration and butler-style service. Before you check in, there will be a butler group just for you. The hotel is clean, sanitary and comfortable. The view outside the window is also superb. Free afternoon tea is provided. It is located at the entrance of the Shilihualang scenic area, where it is convenient to rent electric cars. If you come here, don't go wrong. There is a Yulong River store and a Qianguqing store. The room is well soundproofed and quiet. You can sleep comfortably after playing tired.

In Xingping County, Lijiang River, facing the background of 20 yuan, this is the only Ctrip Five Diamond hotel, and it also allows dogs. We live on the second floor, which is relatively low, so we can't see the river view, but it's convenient for us to take our dog out. Walk a few steps to the opposite side and there are stairs going down to the riverside. If you go out to walk the dog on the riverside in the morning, you can watch the sunrise. The scenery is very beautiful. The sky mirror on the 5th floor of the hotel can show a good reflection and beautiful scenery of 20 yuan The room was big, very clean and very comfortable. The water pressure of the shower head is very strong and it is very comfortable to take a bath, especially with the large shower head in the rainforest. The only flaw, which is also a common problem in 5-star hotels in many first-tier cities in China, is that water easily overflows from the shower room. Fortunately, the floor in his house is very good, non-slip and dries quickly, so just mopping the floor is enough. Free minibar, 4 bottles of drinking water and 3 bottles of drinks will be replenished the next day. Free fruit plate, including bananas, oranges and ginseng fruits, you can ask for more at any time. The hotel service staff will buy some local specialties to share with the guests, such as golden passion fruit, which is super delicious. The Chinese breakfast is Guilin rice noodles, the Western breakfast is bread, fried duck eggs, bacon and sausages, and then there is self-service yogurt, porridge, whole grains, rice dumplings, fruits, and fried dough sticks. Quite rich. Afternoon tea includes melon seeds, some local snacks, and fruits. Late night snacks include sweet-scented osmanthus glutinous rice balls, wine-boiled eggs, noodles, dumplings, etc. There is also barbecue on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday nights, and there is a wide variety of fish cakes, sausages, beef/mutton kebabs, squid, broccoli, meatballs, corn, leeks, and chicken legs. These are free every day during your stay. The hotel is a 5-minute walk from where you can take the bamboo raft. You can take a short trip to Jiumahua Mountain, which takes about 1 hour round trip. There is also a famous scenic spot near the hotel called Xianggong Mountain. It is highly recommended. The scenery on the top of the mountain is very beautiful. Even my dog ​​likes Xianggong Mountain😅. The hotel provides round-trip transfers, round-trip ferry tickets and tickets packages, which is very convenient. The food in the hotel restaurant is very good. The braised chicken and stir-fried beef with earth/green pepper are highly recommended, very delicious. There is also a restaurant they cooperate with next to the hotel, with many local specialties worth trying. It is highly recommended for those who drive themselves to stay here. It is far away from the noisy Yangshuo and West Street, but it is only a 45-minute drive from Yangshuo's main attractions, such as Yulong River and Shili Gallery. Although there is still a gap between the overall hotel and the established five-star hotels, the efforts of all the staff in this hotel can be seen. Under the current environment, and given that the location is relatively remote, I sincerely recommend this hotel.

Yangshuo is one of those places I hold close to me heart. The landscape is just so unique and so beautiful. So for my third trip to Yangshuo, I thought I would try a new location to stay. I came across this hotel on the mountain top and decided to give it a go. Now, due to the location being on top one of the mountains, it did mean driving through some winding mountain roads to get there. But it was well worth it. The view is spectacular!!! My room was clean and spacious, and the restaurant had a nice selection for breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner. But what shone through was the service. I was assigned to butler XiaoZhen who gave me a link so I could contact her at anytime during my stay if I had any questions. Her service was more than I could ask for. From reminding me when the restaurant was opened, to giving me advice for my itinerary during my stay, she went over and beyond to ensure my stay was pleasant.

We had a very pleasant stay at Zen Garden Resort. The staff are very kind and helpful, and can arrange free shuttles to anywhere within 7km of the Resort (which is close enough for several attractions and Yangshuo town). The room was quite spacious and comfortable, with a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains. We particularly enjoyed the incense and tea in the room which set a very relaxing mood. The Resort also offers a range of activities like breathing meditations in the morning and lantern decorating at night which we enjoyed. The restaurant was especially excellent for all meals, and even provide free afternoon tea from 3-4pm. The fat cat in the lobby, Baozi, and the small dogs were lovely to have around. It’s within about 10-20 minutes drive away from most attractions the area, but there are also some nice walks you can do around the Resort. A bit on the expensive side, but you will definitely have a good time here.
