The perfect trip starts with the perfect accommodation. I spent a long time looking for a place in Kawaguchiko that fit my budget, but couldn't find anything suitable. By chance, I stumbled upon this guesthouse with excellent reviews, run by an auntie from Harbin. Although it's in Yamanakako, you can take a bus from Shinjuku to Asahigaoka Station. If you have a lot of luggage, you can contact Auntie beforehand, and she'll pick you up, getting you to the guesthouse quickly. Auntie herself is super friendly and easygoing. The next day, you can arrange for Auntie to drive you to see the sunrise over Mount Fuji. We saw the blue hour gradually turn pink, and there were even two swans ready for their close-up 🦢 – everything was just perfect. On the way back, Auntie specifically took us to an area where many deer were foraging, and enthusiastically shared her story of deciding to settle down and open a business here in her forties. She's truly an inspiring woman, proving it's never too late to start something new, as long as you're sincere 🙏

This is a hotel I would definitely return to! Compared to Lake Kawaguchiko, Lake Yamanakako isn't as commercialized, and there aren't many hotel options. Most people come here for one main reason: to see the sunrise. The top spot for that is the open Hirano Beach, but you don't necessarily have to stay right there! The landlady drives guests to the sunrise spot every day, leaving about ten minutes before sunrise. This ensures everyone has plenty of time and can sleep in a bit longer. It's only a few minutes from the hotel at Asahigaoka – what an amazing free service! The hotel also offers electric-assist bikes for rent, and they generously provide regular bikes for free! If you contact the landlady before check-in and if her schedule allows, she'll even pick you up and drop you off, also free of charge! As for the rooms, they are spacious and bright, and the cleanliness is comparable to a star-rated hotel. Finally, I hope everyone who stays here gets to see their own Mt. Fuji 🗻

The owners were incredibly warm and thoughtful. They even drove us to see the sunrise 🌅 in the morning and dropped us off at the station. The B&B is located near Lake Yamanaka, and you can see Mount Fuji right from your room. It’s a very peaceful environment with lots of greenery, almost like staying in a small park. We even saw a group of wild deer walking around near the B&B.

My stay at this hotel near Mount Fuji was absolutely fantastic! The overall environment is serene and elegant, and the location is superb, within walking distance to observation decks and nearby attractions, making getting around incredibly convenient. The room was spacious and spotless, with a cozy and comfortable Japanese-style decor. The bedding was soft and skin-friendly, and the soundproofing was excellent. Opening the window, I could gaze upon the magnificent views of Mount Fuji, especially breathtaking in the morning and at dusk. The hotel also features a public hot spring, with wonderfully soothing water. Soaking in the hot spring while enjoying panoramic mountain views was incredibly relaxing and rejuvenating. The dining experience was top-notch; both breakfast and dinner offered fresh ingredients and a wide variety of dishes, with authentic and delicious Japanese cuisine. The staff were polite and courteous, and check-in was efficient and swift, providing thoughtful service throughout my stay. The facilities were well-maintained, clean, and odor-free, and the public areas were elegant and tranquil, showcasing attention to detail. This hotel is perfect for both a relaxing getaway and sightseeing, offering outstanding value for money. It's an ideal choice for a trip to Mount Fuji, and I highly recommend it; I will definitely choose to stay here again.

The host was very welcoming and even offered to take us to watch the sunrise. The breakfast was excellent value for money, much better than booking a tour group. We could also rent bikes right outside the hotel, which made exploring the area very convenient.

We took the bus to this homestay but got off at the wrong stop. The auntie even came to pick us up, and the next day, she drove us to watch the sunrise. The room is quite large, very clean, and has a Japanese style. There's a common area where you can eat, and many other areas just like in the photos. The uncle and auntie are very welcoming and warm; we truly felt at home, even being abroad. I highly recommend it!
