Marigold Hotel

The 12 December 2020 was my wedding, and I booked the Executive Suits at Marigold for two nights to serve as our honeymoon place. It cost me N$ 9000 (4500/night). Whilst there, my room was never cleaned or my bed made. I queried at reception regarding this, and the reception posted on the Staff WhatsApp Group that no one cleaned our rooms. No one however came or responded to her query. The reception then decided to come and clean the room herself. I then asked the receptionist to call the manager on duty for me to talk to him. She tried several times but he was not picking up. She then linked me up with another senior person, to whom I called and complained that it is my honeymoon but we are getting back serive. She promised to attend to it, but nothing happened. On the day of booking out, I called several times at Reception for someone to help us with our luggage and wedding gifts we received. There was no answer. The elevator at the Hotel was not working. I therefore had to personally make three trips up and down the stairs from the top floor (Executive Suites) to the basement garage, to take our luggage and wedding gifts to our car. When I came to get our refund for the key deposit, the receptionist on duty didn't apologise for the bad service - even though he was the one who booked us in on our wedding day. He simply gave us the refund and said have a nice day. No one from the Hotel ever got in touch with us. That is a disappointment. I booked the most expensive suites they have to enjoy our special wedding night, but the service and experience Marigold's staff and Management showed us was rubbish.

Breakfast is very good, a wide variety, most like hot milk and cereals, the hotel's environment is superb, the location is next to a golf course, the environment is very good, the hotel has ATM machines can directly use the credit card to pick up the local currency, but there is a fee This is also more cost-effective than changing the US dollar at the counter. A cash withdrawal fee is about 3 knives, but you can basically buy the card and use less cash. There is a Chinese restaurant in the hotel, it tastes good.

It is recommended that you can live in folk customs, with more characteristics and higher cost performance.

Hotel is fairly small with just basic amenities but that does for me. It has a bit of character about it and I liked the small gardens for plenty of bird watching. Very relaxing place and the staff were helpful - although reception has limited hours. Food is taken at the Stellenbosch across the road and is superb. The hotel is a bit out of town. I had thought it looked walkable on a map but in reality would be around 45mins in the heat. However, a taxi ride is cheap and they have an association with one car fleet that you can use then just add to your bill when checkout.

Accommodation began with a scandal - they didn’t want to put me in a 4-star building (reserved), sending me to a nearby motel with dark rooms and bars on the windows! Thanks to the tripkom team - they simply broke the local manager and transferred me to the court building. The hotel is located right at a small airport (no more than 10 local flights per day), clean room. The hotel had an amazing breakfast with lots of cereals, salads, fruits! Thanks for that! Although the dinner (called in the room) was very average in quality. Even the steak (which Namibia usually knows how to cook) was inedible!
