We stayed at The Waves hotel over the Fourth of July holiday, my husband and two kids under 18. Pros: All staff were very kind, helpful, and friendly. Location to boardwalk and beach were awesome, about a block away to all the action. Surrounding area felt safe and secure. Parking was tight but they provided a meter pass for our 3 night stay and luckily we found a meter right across the street. We didn’t need to worry about backing in/out of the other spots under the hotel. Rooms were somewhat updated and didn’t feel like the motel vibe or dark and dungy. Cons: Free breakfast advertised was a bonus we were really looking forward to traveling with kids. Unfortunately the “breakfast” was mostly gone by 9am each morning of our stay. Also, coffee, orange juice, toast, and 2-3 cereal options doesn’t seem fair to advertise as “Breakfast included.” The pool is very small and shared with the motel next door. When 3 people are in it, it feels very tight. Rooms weren’t the cleanest - there were stains in the shower and on the walls like something splattered and wasn’t cleaned fully. We just went with it as we didn’t want I make a fuss All in all it was a decent hotel and I would prefer staying here over some of the motels in the area. I hope the breakfast can be beefed up, or correctly advertised as “first come first serve morning snack”
