A completely ruined Mother's Day trip. Thanks to the complete lack of customer service, empathy, and situational awareness, the staff of this WorldMark location have failed. Led by Travis Sedley, the General Manager, our experience was so poor that was were forced to book a room elsewhere and leave the timeshare resort. We booked a 2 bedroom penthouse for a few days to explore the area for Mother's Day. When we arrived we were told our room was not ready and that it would take 3 hours or less. The staff pointed us to a waiting area to where we could utilize the WiFi and hang out. As time passed we did not engage much with the staff and patiently waited out the time. Upon reaching our 3 hour completion time we requested a status update to our room, to which we were told by the GM "your room isn't ready. Check-in time is 4PM". We informed him that we had already spoken to another associate and they stated we needed to wait for 3 hours, which we had, and now he was moving the goal post. So we asked when there would be a room available and he stated he didn't have an answer at that moment. Obviously this did not feel welcoming. So after another hour of time we were told a room was available. We had been assigned a 1st floor walk up room. This was all that they could give us, in spite of our reservation and being OWERS in the WorldMark system. The GM stated "my other owners book months in advance; you booked last minute". Our reservation was for a 2 bedroom penthouse stay and instead we were getting a ground level room with a view of the street. We informed Travis that this was not an acceptable solution to the situation. As women traveling alone in a different country it was not safe for us to stay on a first floor room with the entry door facing the lowest level. It would not make sense to place us there and we would like a more secure location for our room. The response from the GM was the final straw to this situation: “We are sold out and do not have any other rooms to give you. A penthouse is 2 bed rooms and means it has a view. The only room we have that qualifies for that is the one we are offering. There is nothing else we can do for you, as we are sold out”. As owners in the WorldMark network since 1990, this was the WORST experience we have had in our 34 years. Never have we been turned away from a property or not even offered an alternative solution to a presented problem. This was a complete failure of the WorldMark leadership and a terrible example being set for other employees at this property. This is a location we will never return to nor recommend to any person we know. We travel monthly at this point within our ownership and truly are disappointed with this experience. A ruined trip and holiday.
