Hotel Ducale

Based on previous reviews (thanks to our fellow Tripadvisor friends), we took a Costa Cruise here the next day and stayed at this hotel for 2 days after our trip to Venice before returning. Our direct hotel price was 70 euros, which is quite reasonable in Venice. When we talked about this with other people we were traveling with who were staying in Venice, they all said they were staying in hotels that were more expensive, but had terrible rooms and shared bathrooms! The hotel we stayed in had no room. Big but very clean and the bathroom is great. The shower water is very small. If you are thin, you can just fit in the water. If you are a little fat like me, just squeeze it, haha. If you're really a big guy... forget it! The first night we arrived, the guy at the front desk recommended the Yellowstone restaurant a few blocks south. It was great! We both had pizza and drinks and it only cost 26 euros each! The pizza was very good, but we were the only tourists as the restaurant is open to locals. Don't look for a romantic backdrop here, the restaurant lighting is industrial cafeteria lighting. If you want a good dinner at a lower price, I recommend you go here. We were deeply disappointed that this restaurant closed after we returned from our main holiday cruise. We had to go to Mestre to eat. Sorry, I don't recommend anywhere there. All in all I would recommend this place if you don't want to spend a lot of money on a hotel in Venice, my only regret was that the shuttle was not available when we left the hotel on Monday to go to the airport. However, under the management of that guy, the hotel arranged transportation for us, but we were still ripped off by 30 euros. Other than not providing an airport shuttle, I would recommend this hotel. And the breakfast here is also quite good. If they tell you that their shuttle driver is sick and you take a taxi, you'll probably still save at least 10 euros. Because the No. 13 bus stops near the hotel and will take you out of Venice quickly. Speaking of Venice, it is definitely a place you must visit before you die, a completely unique place! Other than that, there is really no other place to love. Now I finally know why so many people like to go there. Be careful at night, it's easy to get lost, and although the late bus stops running at 1am, it can be difficult to find the bus station.

Liked: Close to airport, but not walkable with a wheeled suitcase, so needed taxi for 20e to travel round the corner. Room was fine for an overnight stop, with a kettle and single sachets of tea/coffee (no milk). Decent bathroom. Ground floor room with French windows onto a very pleasant colonnade, to have drink at from bar in reception (generous measures). Excellent restaurant Ai Do Fogheri opposite. Good soundproofing to outside as went outside with a cup of tea in the morning to find about a dozen people drinking coffee just outside our room. Disliked : No soundproofing from wooden floor above, where guests seemed to be having a party with their suitcases and showering at 03.30, and again at 08.00 so very little sleep. Those rooms described a suites I have been informed are small with a mezzanine and a small double bed. We checked out at 10.30 as requested, and wanted to sit outside with coffees till travelling to meet the rest of our party at the airport, - they could sell us one coffee , but at 11 there was no one available to make us another- which is very poor for a hotel. Phoned for a private taxi for us, but suggested it would be 20/25e, until I made it clear that I would only expect it to be 20e.

I would recommend staying here for flights out of VCE. The hotel is minutes away from the airport and we found it to be clean and modern. Our room comfortably fit four people and was quiet. It is also nice to have a restaurant that is open relatively late.
B&B Airport Venice Diego

We stayed at Diego BnB the night before our flight home. Everything was very clean and there was also a kitchen with some breakfast food. Arranging a shuttle was easy, we were in contact with the host on WhatsApp and they coordinated everything. They do have a credit card machine for payment but said that cash was preferred for the shuttles. The only thing that went wrong was our shuttle never showed up at 4 am to pick us up, so we ended up walking to the airport. There is a shortcut to the terminal that avoids busy roads so be sure to ask the host about it just in case. They refunded our 10€ for that ride promptly via PayPal. Overall, highly recommend!
Annia Park Hotel Venice Airport

We stayed here for just one night after a long day of travel from the US, as our friends arrived later that evening and others the next morning. We all took a private water taxi from the airport to Venice the next morning. The hotel is just a few minutes from the arrivals/baggage claim area of the Marco Polo airport, but no sidewalks and very busy roads, so call the hotel for their shuttle. It does cost a few euros per person, but definitely worth it. The driver was very welcoming and helpful with the luggage. We stayed in Room 55. Comfortable bed and well appointed bathroom, but a little cramped for space. Our friends stayed in the next building, room 124, which was much larger. The restaurant is now open and was excellent! A lovely surprise. Breakfast was also good. We are glad we chose this authentic Italian hotel instead of the chain hotel nearby. Definitely recommended if you need at the start or end of your trip. We loved arriving in beautiful Venice in the full light of the morning rather than late at night.
Courtyard Venice Airport

Standard Marriott courtyard hotel very near the airport but for those who think they can just walk it, unless you have minimal luggage otherwise it’s not an easy walk. Some parts will have no pedestrian pavement so you walk in the main road. If you do choose to walk it, it’s probably a good 15-20 mins. For those who opt for taxi, it’s Euro30 just to turn that corner and enter the airport. Expensive but that’s how it is. The hotel itself I would consider a bit over priced. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Not big, just standard size. Staff are helpful and no queues for check in/out.
