The Smell of the like a rotten rat upon opening of the elevator at the 3rd was so strong, need a good exhaust on that area ( shoes locker ), elevator is a little bit OLD, need maintenance or replacement, the rest is OK!

They allow younger kids but I was separated with my son who is 12 who stayed on another floor for males. Helpful staff and speaks English. Clean and very prime location. People follow the rules of no speaking and it’s very quiet. No onsen for women though.

Location is great. The only drawbacks would be you need to checkup 10am everyday even you stay more than 1 night.

Wouldn’t recommend this place. Didn't know it was a communal when booking and the fact I had to store my luggage on a separate level, showers were on a different level, and had to leave the hotel between 10-14:00. I stayed one night and booked a different hotel even though it was a non refundable reservation.

Excellent location just in the middle of Shinjuku district , three blocks from Godzilla Road and a block from the ****************** and 10 minutes walk to the shinjuku train and bus terminals Capsule is very comfortable and there is an onsen with saiba but always crowded . Recommended because of the location .

I recently stayed at the Shinjuku Capsule Hostels, which is conveniently located near the bustling Shinjuku Kabukicho Bar area and adjacent to the famous Golden Gai. The hostel occupies floors 4 to 8 of a large 7-story building. Pros: • Central Location: Its proximity to key attractions in Shinjuku makes it an ideal place for travelers looking to explore the city. • Affordability: One of the major advantages is the hostel’s affordability, making it a budget-friendly option in a typically expensive city. Cons: • Complex Layout and Access: Navigating the hostel can be a bit confusing, with separate lifts for different sets of floors and the reception located on the 4th floor. • Restrictive Rules: The hostel imposes numerous rules that can feel restrictive. For instance, you need to leave your shoes and keys at the reception every time you go out, which can be inconvenient. • Limited Bathroom Facilities: There are no showers on each floor; instead, guests must use the sauna on the 4th floor for bathing. This can be quite cumbersome, especially for those staying on other floors. • Cramped Living Quarters: With more than 50 beds per floor and only a small bathroom area, the hostel feels crowded, and it can be a long walk to the toilet facilities.

It is in a good location, very close to Shinjuku JR station. Male and female dormitory is separated. All basic living requirements are up to standard. Will recommend for individual travelers for a short and cheap stay. Overall cleanness is acceptable but no separate bathroom.
