Hotel Riu Paraiso Lanzarote - All Inclusive

It is 4am and I am currently staying at this hotel. Just woke up to the realisation that I am in a big fancy room with basically the clothes I was wearing my nightclothes and my phone. Told if I leave the room then I ain’t getting back in. This review is nothing against the hard working staff of this hotel and the amount of people that TUI pack in to it these guys work their socks off hope they are getting paid a decent wage. TUI advertise this as a ‘Platinum’ hotel but don’t let that fool you. What that means is you get cheap everything all inclusive. Check out the definitions of TUI hotels on Google. Anyway after having indulged in the cheap all inclusive and returning to our basic garden view room 411 next to the Vulcano disco we discovered our bathroom was flooded. We contacted reception and obviously at that time of night no maintenance people were available. The guy at reception was very apologetic but basically we were told either put up with it or we can move you to probably the only other available room (it was mobbed with new people) but if you leave that room you won’t get back in! Hence I am sitting in my penthouse apartment prison with no access to any of my belongings. There was no way we could have stayed in our booked room tonight it was an absolute hazard and inhabitable. So will stick it out tonight to see how the hotel deal with this in a few hours. Rui whoever answers your reviews please do put the usual platitudes on Trip Advisor this is beyond that. One very unhappy customer ☹️

Had a fab holiday. Food was great, place was clean. Only tiny negative is that more toilets around the grounds would be good.

I have previously stayed in this hotel (2020) prior to the extensive refit and found both stays equally enjoyable

We had a memorable visit 3 or more years ago and this was the reason we revisited La Paraiso Hotel. Tui from Bournemouth was dead on time and early on arrival - well done Tui. A quick transfer, and, as we had checked in on line, a smooth and very friendly registration. Previously we had requested a room near the facilities and on the first floor, {mobility issue} and we were very pleased with the room. The room was very clean and had new decor. Water is in the fridge on arrival but has to be obtained from the bar from then on. The bed is very comfortable and the TV huge. Dining is on the ground floor and is spread over a large area. Drinks are self service as is the main buffet . Food is good and should have something for everybody. The staff in this area are spot on - attentive, friendly and always smiling. Our compliments to the unsung heroes, - the chefs and kitchen staff who are not normally considered. During the day you can enjoy a variety of sports and games around the pool. These activities are run by the animators who go out of their way to help you enjoy your stay. The shows that are put on by the animators are some of the best we have experienced. The bar staff at the Riu are extremly good they have worked out a system that stops the mass bar crush and it works a treat. They are all very happy and enthusiastic - great. Thank you all in reception for the help you gave us with our need for tech know-how and other enquiries. All the staff at this Hotel give excellent service - thank you. 2nd time we have stayed at this hotel, it is a very big hotel, but it was never over crowded any where, dining room always plenty of tables available, speciality restaurant was excellent, plenty of sunbeds around the pool, entertainment staff, very friendly and good fun. Location excellent, beach right opposite, resort ***** not too far away, easily accessible.

Avoid if you have children! We found that 75% of people there were mature couples so it honestly felt more like a retirement village! There was hardly anything for our children to do. Not allowed inflatables in the pool. Got dirty looks all around whenever our two year old made any sort of noise at all. Meal times were like feeding time at the zoo,no manners from other people at all-as if they were starving which they most certainly weren’t :) Our room was downstairs in a very busy spot so absolutely no privacy when we wanted to sit outside our room in the sun. The so called children’s evening entertainment was a lady singing the same song each evening followed by one song for the children to dance to. We were back in our rooms by 9:30 latest each night as we didn’t feel welcome with the children after that time. So disappointed as we stayed here 3 times in the past before we had children. Another point to note was a few of the staff seem to really dislike anyone who speaks English. It was a hostile environment. Will go to a more child oriented resort in future where we are made to feel welcome. In fairness the rooms are kept clean which is the only positive about our stay. Disappointing to say the least.

Has a five day break at the hotel.Haven't stayed in a Riu hotel for sometime Now. For a short break it was good but think we couldn't stay longer than a week . Food was ok but has much better AI's..also by the end of the week it was already getting crazy in the restaurant so not really is anymore ! I can imagine in the summer it being really crazy ! Thing is it's a huge restaurant but has to cater what looks like two hotels made into one and maybe a restaurant in the other side would help elevate how busy it is .. Our room was lovely with view of the garden on a single floor.great location not to close to the centre but not far away either with a good walk possible .Staff where some of the nicest of hotel staff we've met helpfully and professional at all times and super clean hotel.Pools where lovely if a tad cold but still really good sizes plenty of beds but again could imagine at the height of the season would be busy . Overall a good stay but stayed in nicer Riu's.

Our first vist to Lanzarote and this RUI hotel. Definitely the place to stay. On arrival, check in was smooth, easy and quick. The hotel is immaculate, the staff are friendly, efficient and work very hard. Our room was lovely, with a balcony and partial sea view. Cleaned daily. Ample sun loungers, and seating around the pools. There is lots of choice when it comes to food, with snack bars open throughout the day. We received a complimentary RIU beach/pool bag, which I thought was a very kind gesture. We also received a bottle of bubbly for my birthday. An absolutely brilliant hotel........we will definitely be returning to this hotel.
