City Edge South Melbourne Hotel Reviews

Its a walking distance to the train station but about 20mins uber to Melbourne CBD. There is not much amenities, hotel room is super clean but there's no cleaning service. Bed is very comfy tho!

I have a lot to say, but I won't say it.

The cleanliness of the room needs to be improved. The carpet I live in is really hard to describe. The guys at the front desk are very nice. It is also very convenient to eat around, and it is also convenient to travel. Trams and taxis are very convenient. Not far from the City. The room price is also quite reasonable. I should choose it again next time, after all, it is very close to the place I want to go.

no garbage bin in unit no means to wash/dry dishes no free wifi / instructions for use of A/C etc Microwave was not clean All staff were helpful and lovely!

The rooms were quite nice, bed was large and comfortable. Great, large shower. The parking was easy to get to (although there are a lot of road works around the area at the moment), but not easy to understand where to park and with no access card it was a clunky process to just park the car. The lift didn't work and the stairs were locked, so checking in and just getting to our room was extremely frustrating. We were then woken to an evacuation alarm at 5.30am which turned out to be a false alarm. We got a last minute deal, so the price was good, and as mentioned, the rooms were comfortable, but it was definitely a bit a Faulty Towers experience.

There were 2 water shortages, found bugs in bed, and kitchen stuff was not clean at all. The place and building was great.

Reception staff were friendly and helpful. The first room we checked into needed painting and also had a bad cigarette smoke smell. I mentioned this to reception who were most apologetic and moved us to another larger room. Initially I thought this room was better without cigarette smoke smell but after being in the room for sometime a smell of stale drain water was evident. Also the cleaning standards of the room was poor. The shower drain outlet had quite a bit of hair in it, the couch had a white stain on it plus there were cigarette burns on the bedside and main table. The interior of the room could do with a good paint

We stayed for the night to go out in the city and the apartment was great, good size, bed was comfy, good location easy to Uber to and from, paid the $20 for onsite parking. However, the shower did have some hair on the wall from the last person, the rest of the room though smelt like cleaning products.

Nice place but limited bedding e.g. very thin quilt, quality of towels poor.
