Absolutely beautiful resort. It's off season so no restaurant or spa which I'm sure are both great. The room was so spacious and beautiful.
Cleanliness was decent, the duvet kept slipping out from the cover and had some stains (wine, makeup) and the shower is in need of updates (bad grout and aging from use)and one of the in room coffee mugs was dirty.
But it was overall very nice. The staff are so friendly. The light continental breakfast was really good. Pastries, bagels, juice, etc. the view from the dining area is magical, you're atop the hill and can see the Hudson. Felt regal.

The Castle hotel was beautiful. I've wanted to stay here for years! It was disappointing that the spa was not open as the website originally said it would be open in March 2024. The other thing that was disturbing was receiving emails stating that the front doors would locked after midnight. If you have plans to be out for an event, that is concerning. Everything else was wonderful!

Beautiful unkempt old building.The service was terrible. The room lacked tissues, hair conditioning, body lotion or any other notions.Housekeeping was barely existent. Bedding seemed used, dry blood stain on robe, trash behind dresser, filthy carpet.

The hotel is picturesque and has a nice climate and view.
The staff was not helpful and I was unable to get my receipt for the stay. The breakfast is basic continental breakfast without warm options.

We were pleasantly surprised upon arrival to find out we were upgraded to a suite! It was absolutely beautiful. The bed was so comfortable and the old time feels to the furniture was a very nice touch. My only criticism would be the parking. There are no spots near the hotel entrance it's quite the hike down to where only spots were available and even less later in the evening.

I almost overlooked this place because of some unfavourable reviews but my view is that this is one of the friendliest, most comfortable, charming hotels I’ve stayed at. I travel constantly for work (airline staff) and have stayed numerous hotels so I have a pretty good point of reference.
Room was spacious and clean, (2 queen beds), continental breakfast was better than expected with fresh fruit, yogurt and a selection of fresh pastries.
Staff was very kind and professional. The front desk staff helped me print some stuff I needed asap and I observed them assisting other guests with the same level of care. Breakfast room attendant was also attentive and took pride in a job well done.
Cotton shower curtain had a small tear. So what? They are likely custom made to match decor but curtain as well as entire bathroom was squeaky clean.
Parking was easy and public areas are comfortable inviting. Nice and quiet with no hall or traffic noise. Comfy bed and a selection of pillows, something for everyone I suppose.
Stunning view from breakfast room along with a good cup of coffee and helpful staff created a wonderful start to my day.

Rooms were comfortable. Some of the linens and robes had holes in them or were worn. Breakfast was ok. I expected a little more for the cost. Check in and out was easy. Shower curtain was torn. Overall they need to spend more money on renovations since it is advertised as a spa hotel.
