Crown Towers Sydney

Barangaroo|2.49km from Water Street Reserve
I stayed at Crown Towers Perth in Sep 2022 and June 2023. I also stayed in Crown Towers Melbourne in Dec 2022. Thus, the next logical move is to stay in Crown Towers Sydney to complete my experience in staying at all 3 Crown Towers Hotel in Australia. I finally did that. Stayed at Crown Towers Sydney from 3 Nov to 8 Nov 2023. Today is 8 Nov 2023 and I will be checking out shortly. I stayed at an opera king room which has views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House. The room was very well lit and nice. Just the appropriate size for a sole traveller. I also managed to try most of the restaurants in Crown Towers Sydney except Yoshii Omakase which is so hard to book and Silks. I did not managed to book Yoshii even when it opened for booking. Guess too many people booking. I tried Epicurean for breakfast, dinner at A’Mare, Nobu, Woodcut and Oncore by Clare Smyth. I did not try Silks since being an Asian Chinese, I normally do not eat Chinese food when I go holiday. Got to try other food instead. My favourite restaurant is undoubtedly Oncore where I ordered the 7 course seasonal tasting menu. Superb. Woodcut was also good where I ordered their sirloin steak. Nobu was also nice as it completed my tour of all 3 Nobu in Australia having previously eaten at Nobu Perth and Melbourne when I stayed at Crown Towers there. For Nobu , I ordered the X Haku Omakase which is 5 course. The star of the course was the lobster. Overall I have enjoyed my stay in here. As Sarah Brightman is coming to Sydney in Aug to Oct 2024, I have already booked my tickets to watch her performance at Sydney Opera House in Sep 2024 and also booked a 4 night stay at Crown Towers Sydney again. For the future, I do hope Crown Towers Sydney can have a Crystal Club for breakfast like what Perth and Melbourne has. Also, hope to see more shops/entertainment areas at Crown and also a provision/gift/snack shop here at Crown Towers Sydney.

Pier One Sydney Harbour, Autograph Collection

Dawes Point|2.91km from Water Street Reserve
Stayed here for 5 nights in February and definitely recommend it. The hotel is close to ROCKS, away from the urban area, but just beside the harbor bridge. More than half of the rooms in the hotel can see the port! The location of the hotel is excellent, only 5 minutes walk to the ROCKS, and 2 minutes walk to the Opera House. If you are worried about finding a hotel, remember that the hotel is in ROCKS. The rooms are clean, tidy and luxuriously decorated with fantastic toiletries. The air conditioner was also very quiet. The staff are extremely friendly and super polite. The restaurant and bar prices are reasonable, what you can eat in the restaurant, you can also eat in the bar. The breakfast was delicious, the best I've ever had. Breakfast has a lot of choices, super fresh tropical fruits and drinks. Of course, you can see the port too, remember to take the seat near the pier to watch the sunset! In other reviews, someone mentioned that the toilet is very noisy. But they forgot to mention that the restroom decorations are thoughtful. There is also a water-saving design equivalent to that of an ordinary toilet. The noise only lasts for two seconds, then it's very quiet. Unlike some restrooms, it takes minutes to flush. The hotel is very quiet, you can't hear any noise, not even when sitting in front of the pier. Of course it is recommended. I will definitely come back. And if you book directly with the hotel, it is much cheaper than looking for an agent. All in all, great value. Great location to watch the sunset! In other reviews, it was mentioned that the washrooms were very noisy. But they forgot to mention that the restroom decorations are thoughtful. Located in The Rocks, walking distance to Circular Quay. Need to be a mountain goat to walk here, especially with luggage. Once dropped off, explore the beautiful Rocks area. I caught the train to Circular Quay, where the Opera House and Harbour Bridge is. Then walked up many, many stairs to get here. Well worth it. Very modern, even though it's built over an archaeological site of part of the old Rocks area. Beautifully done and preserved. Room was very modern and clean, albeit expensive for a double ensuite room. But i did not mind paying for the location and cleanliness. Bathroom modern and clean. Lockers available for long term hire. I can not rate it highly enough The rooftop of this hostel!!?? Absolutely second to none. Perfect views of the Opera House, Bridge and harbour

It was quite expensive for the service. The staff were not very welcoming but pleasant enough. The highlights are you are camping on the harbor and the view is very pretty. At sunset the very large bats come out which is quite cool to see but they are very loud with each other. Here is somethings you should know. Both eateries close at 430 pm so plan accordingly for dinner. If you get the package that includes electricity it’s only on from 6pm-6am. The waterway is very active until dark then the row teams start at 0500 it might have been earlier but their coaches are very loud and aggressive. What a way to wake up. It was nice just manage your expectations.

We loved our stay! we were greeted at reception with bubbles which was also lovely treat. We were also upgraded to a much larger room which was absolutely amazing! We will be back again for sure!! The only downside was that there was a couple of food marks on the kitchen walls and randomly on a light fitting but I’m sure that could have just been a one off.

Wouldn’t recommend. Have stayed at nicer hostels in Sydney. There wasn’t great bathroom facilities - not enough toilets or showers for the capacity. There was a severe lack of sinks which I didn’t realise would be such an issue but is! The bathrooms were often dirty and not cleaned regularly. There was a lack of toilet paper constantly. The bed was uncomfortable and pillow was hard. Beds were very loud to get in and out of so felt like I was waking everyone in the room whenever I needed the bathroom. The staff were fine but not overly helpful. On check in we weren’t advised where the kitchen or lounge area was, or what the check out protocol was. When we checked out the staff never advised us what to do with the bed linen. Location was grand for Sydney, a bit further out but wasn’t really a hinderance. There was good public transport. For reference I have stayed at two other Sydney hostels, and plenty of hostels up and down the east coast.

Stayed 2 nights, location was not bad, more quieter in comparison to CBD area and Pitt Street. Staff explained a lot during check-in. It is a nice place to stay if you have plans for watching the performance or ********. Great restaurants nearby and the food court downstairs is packed. There’s a Coles just across the street so you can also pick up some groceries easily.
