Stone Town Cafe

Needs to do work on their rooms and do renovations. For $70 should be a bit more comfortable/ cleaner Breakfast was okay . Staff were good Wasn’t so bad for 1 night . But quite noisy if you’re not an early riser .

I took the plane to travel to Zanzibar, I stepped through the front door of Stonetown Café B&B and traveled back in time. No words can describe what we felt in this former palace converted into a guest house in the historic heart of Stonetown. The stairs, the floor, and the furniture were all made of noble wood and one feels that the builders of this property did it with great refinement and taste. Our plane had landed at 2 am, and in the morning when I opened the shutters I was amazed by the sight of the old city waking up. It's hard to choose between having breakfast on the balcony of my room or on the terrace of the hotel restaurant. The location of the hotel is strategic, you are close to the beach, the best restaurants, and the attractions of the city. The service was impeccable and the welcome is warm. Special thanks to Hazem with whom I made friendship during the 3 months between my reservation and our arrival. He gave me a lot of advice over the course of my stay and his advice was precious. The car he chartered for me to pick us up and drop us off at the airport was always on time. I also thank Ilyas and Elizabeth because they were very helpful and friendly. In summary, for a stopover in Stonetown, I recommend Stonetown café B&B without hesitation.

I stayed two nights at the B&B. The room was lovely, with beautiful wooden furniture and a nice view over the rooftops of Stone Town. The bed was sooo comfortable and you have both air conditioning and a really strong fan if you prefer. Location on Kenyatta Rd was perfect - you can get there directly in a taxi (unlike the hotels in the alleys) or it’s a short walk from the ferry terminal and dala-dala stops. Breakfast was great - such a huge bowl of fresh fruit and the Arabic coffee was a real treat! The staff was all lovely and welcoming, they even accommodated a super early check in.

Extra nice staff. They don't bother you a lot. Good wifi signal. was pretty fast, at one point I was getting 2MB per second. They have a nice cafe/restaurant on ground floor, very chill place to cool down and relax.

This is a great choice if your looking for a place to stay in Stone Town that is affordable and provides good service. You can walk to the night market easily and back, and you can easily walk into Stone Town. We liked that we didn’t have to pay a fortune for an authentic Swahili room. They provide free internet, and the cafe downstairs serves good food.
