I want to start by saying that we had a great holiday, but there's no point in doing a review if you're not going to be honest, so first, let's start with the good stuff. The hotel's position, on the beach, is perfect. Two swimming pools, daytime and nighttime entertainment and very efficient staff and good food. The hotel itself is a very modern, international hotel, and unfortunately, that means it has none of the character of Crete. I have to be perfectly honest and say there was a lot of "Form over Function". The rooms, while spacious, have one, rather small, wardrobe and a very small three draw chest of drawers. There is a Chaise Lounge in the corner of the room, which appears to serve no purpose apart from being somewhere to stack your clothes as you can't put them away and some kind of box affair either side of the bed ... No drawers. When we mentioned this, they brought us up another suitcase rack followed the next day by a floor standing towel rail. The bathroom is separated into three (Shower, Toilet, and Sink)) by some very stylish blue smoked glass. The sink has a very strange marble plate in so no plughole or plug, making it impossible to run a sink of water to shave and no light above. Back to the good stuff... George in the restaurant was very helpful and friendly and a special mention for Karina, who ran the animation. There was Darts, Boccha, and pool games as well as yoga and stretching, and she did it all with a smile and loads of energy and was very friendly... Thanks Karina. So, all that said , would I go back there? ... absolutely I would but I would know what to expect... and maybe grow a beard before I go. Overall... We loved it.
