My husband, son, and I stayed here one night as we were passing through on the way to Orlando. The location is great to get back on the Interstate and was close to other restaurants/shopping. The hotel needs some refurbishment as age is showing; however, the highlight of the stay was the amazing customer service displayed by on-site management (Clayon). When we checked in, we noticed our room (deluxe 2-queen room) wasn't cool. We thought this may have been due to the window treatments being opened and the afternoon sun shining through. We left to go to dinner and when we came back, it was still warm in the room. My husband contacted the front desk and Clayon was there within 5 minutes. He checked the unit and did a reset to see if this would help. He told us to contact him if it didn't get cooler and he would move us to another room. After waiting for a little while, the room temperature did not improve. My husband contacted the front desk and Clayon came back and assisted us to move across the hall. He also told us that since we were moved to a regular queen room, the cost would be adjusted. He also apologized for the inconvenience. Clayon displayed extraordinary customer service and is definitely suited for management. He is an asset to the company.

from the moment we stepped through the door, the staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, making us feel right at home. This is the best east coast resort in the GA/FL area for families with kids wanting a great pool and beach experience. Abraham at the pool deck was phenomenal in making our stay wonderful. Josef also was so nice and helpful for all our activities. We practically lived at the pool and beach for several days and they went above and beyond to make our stay great. The beach is great and very conveniently accessed via the pool deck. Our kids loved playing in the sand and in the surf. There were loads of surfers to watch and that was fun to watch as well. They dredged the area in the last 2 years and the beach is very long. So there is plenty of beach even at high tide. The breakfast is wonderful as well as the managers special in the evenings. They have a staff pumpkin contest this time of year and that is always a favorite to view and vote on the favorite. Restaurants are across the street within walking distance. Love this resort!

GGuest UserWe enjoyed our stay at the Hyatt Place Vilano Beach. It was a close walk to a beautiful, clean beach. We were told the pool wasn’t warm, but turned out it was! We skipped swimming because we weren’t aware until it was too late. The breakfast was great and well stocked. We paid a little extra for a balcony but the view wasn’t good. Don’t waste your money on a balcony. We paid for valet parking which ended up not being necessary. There is plenty of street parking. It was overall a clean hotel and very friendly staff.

GGuest UserWe stayed at this venue for two nights for our trip to St. Augustine. The hotel was very clean and had been recently updated. The staff at the front desk were extremely friendly and helpful. We immediately felt comfortable there.
On the first day, we went to breakfast at 9:30. There were no egg products available and a couple of bits of sausage. There were NO FORKS!!! We spoke to the person who oversaw the breakfast and she apologized and said there were no forks. I complained to the front desk and they agreed to take the parking charge ($20/day) from our bill. The following day, the breakfast was fully stocked, even forks!
This hotel is a gem. Close to everything. We would definitely stay there again.

GGuest UserService was ok. Requested a wine opener from the front desk. Was told to get one from the bistro. Went to the bistro was told I had to go back to my room on the 4th floor and bring the bottle of wine down so they would open it. Could not give me a wine opener to use during my stay. Big market for stolen wine openers I guess. Other than that shower head covered in mold. No other issues. Definitely a three star hotel with no aspiration of moving to the next level.

The people who gave out the food in the breakfast line I give a heads up on the black heavy set man who was friendly and professional. Not so much for the girl older girl in cutoff shorts who help him. Room was so clean and the pool awesome. Friendly housekeeping staff made us feel good. We stayed in room 131 and the only problem was the door to the bathroom could not close. Staff went out of their was to drive us anywhere we needed. I loved this place and would never look for any other place. Location is perfect right next trolley for tours and they pick you up at the hotel.

GGuest UserThe Ponce is an older hotel with plenty of charm and character, which was what I was looking for. It has been maintained and updated beautifully. The staff was very welcoming and accomodating. The room was quiet, clean, and comfortable.The bed was extremely comfortable. Amenities included pool, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, blow dryer, iron, ironing board, writing desk with chair, huge HD TV, and free WIFI. A guest laundry room is available. The Ponce is a 15 minute walk or short drive to the St. Augustine old historic site. Shopping, restaurants, and a salon and spa are also minutes away. The Ponce is on the water, and although the restaurant does not face the water, the view is beautiful.
The hotel restaurant, the DeLeon, is a Colombian restaurant. The food was delicious and authentic! I can't wait to eat there again.
I give the Ponce Hotel a rating of A+++++. I also must mention that I left a pair of diamond earrings in my room, and within an hour of checking out, Negar, the hotel desk receptionist, called me to let me know, and my earrings are being mailed to me. This honesty and going the extra mile is seldom seen today, and I was extremely impressed and grateful. Again,I rate them very highly and plan to return on my next visit.

This hotel is basically a motel. Stayed 5 nights. Was disappointed with cleanliness and customer service. Room wasn't cleaned two days in a row - had to ask for towels and toiletries one of the two days that it wasn't cleaned. When it was cleaned, the toiletries were not replenished. Couple times the room wasn't cleaned until late (4-5 pm). Funky smell from water (faucets and bath). Windows are thin - can hear everything (heads up, you will definitely hear the peacocks, doors, people talking outside the room). Sink was clogging. Pillows hard/lumpy and bed not ”premium” (no pillowtop) as noted. No drapes in room as stated in site. Pictures are deceiving on their site. The motel needs upkeep - painting, cleaning, maintenance. Breakfast subpar. One time the eggs tasted like they were re-heated. The employee working in the breakfast area did not smile once, say good morning, or have any hospitality. They need more help at this place - and better help (people who are happy to be there and happy to welcome their guests and take pride in it. When we checked out, they didn't even ask how our stay was. This place should be much cheaper (motel pricing). Next time we will go to one of the other better known hotels, even if it's pricier. That would have made a much bigger difference on our trip. When you go on vacation, you want to feel comfortable, and taken care, and feel the welcoming, warm atmosphere from it's employees when you arrive, during your stay, and at the end when you check out. You also want a clean room - everyday. This place didn't provide that. Just being close to attractions doesn't cut it.

My spouse and I chose to stay at this establishment during our visit to St. Augustine based on our previous satisfactory experiences when it was known as the Victor. However, since the change in rebranding as Spark by Hilton, we have observed a significant decline in the quality of the hotel. It is important to note that this location is not directly owned and operated by Hilton but rather a franchisee. Regrettably, our recent stay was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences we have encountered. It became evident that the current management is prioritizing cost-cutting measures at the expense of guest satisfaction. One notable example is the introduction of a $20 daily parking fee, which is not a standard practice across all Spark by Hilton hotels. This decision appears to be solely motivated by the desire by the owner to generate more money out of guests, as if the room rates aren't overpriced as it is. During its tenure as the Victor, complimentary parking was provided to hotel guests. This hotel lacks basic amenities such as hand soap in the guest rooms. Upon inquiring with two separate individuals at the front desk, I received conflicting responses. One individual stated that the soap order had not been received, while the other claimed that the Spark hotels brand does not provide hand soap. This inconsistency in responses suggests a lack of transparency. The room's furnishings are inadequate for guests. The fold-out desk and backless cloth stool are uncomfortable for working on a laptop, and there is only one chair in the large seating area without a table. There no place to eat food other than on the bed or on the floor. There is no furniture in the guest rooms with drawers to store clothing, not even with the nightstands. The absence of furniture with drawers necessitates living out of one's suitcase unless numerous hangers are brought to accommodate clothing. There is no room clocks in any of the rooms. If you need to check the time you have to use your cellphone. The guest rooms lack essential amenities such as coffee machines and microwaves. Guests must visit the lobby for coffee and sometimes the coffee is lukewarm in the dispensers. If a microwave is needed the only microwave is in the snack area near the front desk. Ice buckets are not provided in the rooms, and guests must bring their own containers to obtain ice from the ice machine. However, the ice machine itself isn't sanitary, and next to the ice machine contains a stack of dirty ice buckets without liners, posing a potential health risk to guests. Additionally, housekeeping services are not offered during guests' stays, and rooms are only cleaned and towels refreshed upon checkout. Housekeeping staff were not observed on our floor until the morning of our departure. The hotel was unable to provide sufficient towels for all rooms despite multiple requests made after the designated check-in time of 4 pm. MMtnGal12Very nice room that is clean, spacious, and airy. On the second floor, there is a handy access to a balcony to step outside and observe the area. The staff are polite and accommodating and the breakfast is adequate. During my stay, a hurricane was approaching (see the photo!) so the pool was closed and some amenities were not available, but still had a delightful stay! Fully recommend this hotel to anyone in the area. Plus, downtown and historic St. Augustine are worth a visit, there are a lot of things to see and enjoy.
