Well where do I start? Let’s start at the very beginning and hopefully I don’t forget anything! I’ve just returned from a ten night stay here. On arrival reception were just lovely and very welcoming. Check in was very quick and efficient. The gentleman explained what they could arrange in the way of excursions for you - I already had mine booked prior to leaving home. That even explained the tourist tax of 4 euros per night for the maximum of seven nights. One member of staff showed me to my room whilst the bell boy brought my luggage to my room. The bedroom was lovely and large. Nice and cool and very efficient air conditioning. Bed was very comfortable. Nice balcony with a table, two chairs and partial sea view looking over bay of Naples and Marina Picalo Bathroom nice and large with toiletries supplied. Housekeeping twice daily. Breakfast was one of the best I’ve had. Choice of food very large and all buffet style. Antonio and his staff a credit to the hotel. Hotel very centrally located. Within easy walking distance of everywhere. Will I be back yes.

Michelangelo Hotel, which I stopped by during my road trip to Italy~ The facilities were good and the breakfast was good, but my whole family was very satisfied with the dinner we had on the day of our stay, consisting of appetizers, lunch, and dessert. The location was a bit difficult to find, but the hotel was good enough to make up for it. The car parking fee for one night is 20 euros, which is a bit expensive ^^ Perhaps because it was the week before Christmas, the hotel was decorated in various ways, which was nice.

We stayed at this hotel in Sorrento for four days this time. very satisfied. The hotel is a few years old, but the facilities and decoration are still good. Clean and quiet. The location of the hotel is very good. It is only a few minutes walk from the lively streets of the small town and the seaside ferry terminal. There are many restaurants around. The breakfast at this hotel is very good. The pool and garden at the back are also very nice. The service attitude of the front desk staff is very good!

We went here last May (not got round to writing up my reviews) we understood that in a just over a week of us leaving, it was going to be closed for think they said a month for refurbishment. I do not know how intense this refurbishment would be, but I think it did need quite an extensive one. There is not a lot they can do about its layout, for example in some respects it is a great location right at the end of the pedestrian street but then again this is also a busy road that it is situated at and so can be quite noisy if you are at the front over looking the road especially if you think we will sit out on our small balcony! The hospital is basically right next door so during the night you can be woken by sirens. Like I say this cant be done anything about because it is in Sorrento itself and there are supermarkets and a lot of the bus excursions pick up by a pull in bit at the hotel opposite and where you get dropped off and pick up from your airport transfer. So in some ways it is great location but in others not so great. Just to make you aware; depends what you want. It is a good 10-15 mins walk to the train station down the pedestrian street and then a bit further. Not good if like us you got off the train to discover effectively there is a huge thunderstorm happening and you get drenched in the process of walking back to the hotel. The food is very nice and well prepared and cooked. The only thing that we would critise is that if you are there for 2 weeks on half board then the menus for the evening meal are exactly the same on the second week as they are on the first week. You choose your meal at breakfast so it is cooked to order and there are a couple of choices per course. But if you do not like for example one of the courses then you know you are going to have exactly the same meal on the same night the second week! We did like the fact that if you ordered a bottle of wine that they would keep it for you with your room number on or even bottled water for the following evening or until you had drank it. The roof terrace with the jacquizzi (which is not heated by the way only with the sun if there is any!) is quite nice but has no bar so you either have to go down a floor to the bar or wait until the bar man comes up and asks if you would like a drink. There was a bit of an issue with water overflow seepage on the roof and this really needed dealing with on the refurbishment. The tvs were small flat screeen ones but not many channels. So in the evening as there was nothing going on at the hotel and no one really sat in the reception bar, then it was either sit in your unenspiring room watching nothing really on tv, read a book or just go out every night. The beds were not of the best quality or the bedding. The air conditioning wasnt on until after a certain date which is fine but then when it did come on, ours would drip so we had to put the bath mat on the floor as it was in front of the wardrobe area and as it is

Let's start with the positives. Large rooms, though small showers, with million dollar views over Sorrento towards Napoli. Everything is light marble, white walls with blue accents. It can lack warmth for some tastes. There is a sun deck with loungers and a pool (about 9 meters by 3 meters) which is unheated so, during some periods it is very cool. Too cool to swim in comfortably but lovely to hang out and have a break from the tourist chaos that is Sorrento. It is a 25 to 30 minute walk from the main train station. 3/4 of that walk is flat and the last 1/4 is gentle uphill slope. Be warned that the sidewalk on the uphill slope can narrow where you have to step onto the road when passing people or wait. The last 200 meters or so is an experience. The white line is 25 to 30 centimeters from solid wall and you are walking it, depending on which side you choose, with cars, bikes and busses whizzing by. Sorrento drivers seem used to tourists and their driving is organized mayhem. The staff is friendly and helpful. Give enough notice and every request will be endeavored to be filled. Yes there is road noise during the day. The Italians talk with their horns. It becomes part of the ”music of Sorrento”. The breakfast has a fair bit of variety. If I were to be picky it's a coffee machine that automatically makes cappuccino rather than someone using a traditional expresso maker and milk steamer. It isn't quite the Italian cappuccino one might expect. Due to the marble floors sound does carry. Doors close like they are slamming but guests figure it out pretty quick to try to be respectful. We always slept fine but other reviews have commented about noise issues which I can understand if a guest is loud and tromping about. If you stayed down in Sorrento there would be the party nightlife noise to contend with. Staying at Hotel Miramare makes you feel a bit elevated in style. Yes it's a 10 minute walk to the edge of the tourist district of Sorrento but the million dollar view is worth it. Overall I'm pleased with my choice for the price I paid. The hotel has wonderful outdoor areas which I appreciate when taking a break from the tourist chaos of Sorrento.

This hotel has a number of drawbacks. But my biggest gripe is that the restaurant charges for mineral water but actually serves tap water in a reused bottle. In fact it was slightly salty so may be something other than tap. I shudder to think. The room tap water was ok and the same brand we bought else where was delicious. We thought the way the waiter delivered the water was a bit odd as a made a bit of a show of opening it. A dishonest practice and a health risk. Other than that the only two times we ate on the restaurant due to bad weather it was about the same quality or less than a truck stop. Maria running the place was not impressed at pointing out the burnt to ashes shrimps. Plenty of restaurants in the bay but are over priced tourist traps. Better to walk into Sorrento. The location requires a good stiff walk uphill to the main area but worth it. Not one for anyone with mobility issues. No dangers of getting sunburn. The location at the bottom of a cliff and orientated north east means there are only a small number of hours in the morning when you can see direct sunlight. The hotel is basic and clean in the public areas. Although the live in staff on our floor made sure it always smelt of cigarette smoke. I rarely give places bad reviews unless there is something pretty in wrong - in this case drinking their bottled water is likely to be a health hazard.

I highly recommend this hotel with 10 points. The quality of cleanliness, scenery, room equipment, and staff is also 10 points excellent. There are different restaurants in the hotel for guests to choose from. There are also different breakfast styles every day, so you can choose from them. The only drawback is that the hotel is a bit far away and you may need to take a car to get there. But all in all, I highly recommend this hotel!

Facing Mount Vesuvius, the hotel is in a very good location and close to the pier. There are many restaurants and small shops around. Breakfast is average, not much delicious. The service staff is very friendly. Parking is 20 euros per day.
