Hotel worthy of a 3 star no more. No spa, indoor gym or indoor pool (knowing that the outdoor pools are not accessible (dirty)). No bathrobes or slippers. Problems arriving resolved in 2 hours, no electricity or shower head. Plastic cups for cocktails as well as for the table, even the cup of coffee at the breakfast buffet is a paper cup. The hotel has potential because the exterior is magnificent and rather well located, it's a shame.

We stopped at Salagardos Palm Village Apartments in early March, as part of a group of 12 ,the weather was the worst I’ve experienced on a golf trip which didn’t help matters, the complex itself is dated with no amenities close by,the rooms are spacious and ok but very dark we looked out on to the pool area which wasn’t very appealing, the staff at the hotel were very helpful, the food in the restaurant is plentiful and decent but it is served on cold plates, you have to put the plates in the microwave to warm them up before putting your food on and this solved the problem, the bar on site is like a works canteen and the drinks are of poor quality but as they say you get what you pay for. If you’re on a budget this is the resort for you, but personally I’d rather pay a bit more, we played golf at Alamos , Margado and Salgardos the later course been the best in my opinion but like I said at the beginning the weather was poor and made the golf every difficult in 25 to 30 mph wind and heavy rain showers.I much prefer Vilamoura as a base and to visit different restaurants on an evening and visit a couple of bars afterwards and the golf courses are close at hand including the Old Course which is always special. I feel that this is a very fair and balanced view of the week we have just spent at the NAU palm village hotel. I have rated a 3 but do believe this is at the higher end, teetering on a 4. The good- - there are a lot of sun beds and space for sunbathing, there’s never a grab for a sunbed and plenty enough pools to choose from. The pool areas are kept tidy and clean. -the rooms are cleaned well, they are very spacious, we were upgraded to a suite which was lovely, there was so much room and storage space and this seemed to be a theme for most people we spoke for. They were cleaned and beds made to a lovely standard every day. - the reception staff are helpful and courteous, the majority of other staff are too. - the breakfast was nice with different options, there was always plenty of everything. - the train taking people to the beach was a lovely additional touch and the beach is stunning! Well worth a visit. -the location is close to the Zoomarine park and Albufeira for lovely days out. -there is a good drinks choice. -there is a choice between 3 restaurants which is a nice touch. The bad- Unfortunately these points are what brings the rating of my review down so much because these 4 main points did cause issues for our holiday however can’t completely take away from the beauty of Portugal and stunning weather we had. - booking of meals. I have never had to for an all inclusive book for my meals, whilst dinner (and at a push) lunch were no issue for us, breakfast certainly was and by day 5, with a tired 5 year old, I was fed up of having to set an alarm and wake her up, this is not what a holiday is about and did frustrate me greatly, the hotel needs to come up with a better system then forcing people to prebook at least 4 hours in advance. Everybody we spoke to said that they hated this and I agree. - communal toilets! They are significantly lacking, for the amount of guests there are only 2 toilets (one inside one restaurant and one next to the back of the kitchen) for people using the main pool, bar, restaurant area and kids area. This meant that there were often queues, they were dirty and run down, ran out of toilet paper and the toilet seats all broken. The toilet situation drove me crazy every day. -queues for things, the reception is horrendous. At checking in time and waiting to get a room key, the check in process took far too long. We went back at 4 pm to get our room key and were originally told our room still wasn’t ready, until we pushed them and were then given our key when they initially denied our room existed. The check in process was just torture and we were told to leave out bags in an unlocked overcrowded room in a garage with the door left wide open. Queues at the bar were not better either. In the evening the bar near the pool shuts so if you are at the kids club, good luck getting a drink from anywhere other than walking into the restaurant to get one. The worst- Do not go here if you are reliant on a good kid

Best room ever had ! Free upgrade! Great food and staff very friendly! Room had hammock and two bathrooms! Very clean complex with many cupboards for storage! Had a great time here - hopefully return in the future! Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend! Entertainment in the evening and a special mention to the kids club who work tirelessly every day! Our 5 year old daughter had a great time!

We have visited four times in recent years and this place has gone down hill !! 28 of us to play golf on the course and away most of the day. First we found the staff very unhelpful They wanted us to pre book meals in an all inclusive buffet We didn’t know what time we wanted to eat 24 hours in advance! When we did use the restaurant the food was cold On the last day we went to breakfast as they opened at 7am and the food was stone cold ! There was only one bar open and that had only one person serving half pints ! The que was horrendous. We went to get water from the bar for the room as we have done in previous years and they wanted us to pay €6 in an all inclusive resort They blamed the cost of water in Portugal How come the shop up the road can sell for 30cents then ???? Will not return

As an all inclusive resort the place really is terrible but I’ll start with the positives, the accommodation is absolutely fine with big spacious room all cleaned daily, there are plenty of pools with ample sun beds available. Check in is so painfully slow with only one member of staff checking in a group of 28!!!. The food is absolutely terrible on one day I was the first into breakfast and everything was cold and that is the general theme throughout, the salad bars are good as are the sweets, but please ensure that the hot food is what it’s called……hot!!!, the beer in the bars, once you’ve queued, is terrible and served in 1/2 pint plastic glasses (I understand the health and safety aspect of this around the pools) but at night time??? And finally we have been to this place as a group for 4 years and this is the first year we have had to pay for water!!! An all inclusive resort where you have to pay for water!!!!! In summary we won’t be returning!!!!!

We were a party of 28 golfers the rooms were absolutely spot on, BUT the breakfast was absolutely awful NUMBER ONE , cold every day, which in this country (Uk) you would get in trouble for ( hot food on display should be 63 c or over ) anything below and you run a risk of bacteria, evening meal was better the grill bar i personally loved , unfortunately we will not be returning as breakfast before golf is quite important

We stayed here for eleven nights with four adults and a one year old, which in hindsight was a bit too long. This is going to be a long review. There are lots of things to like and dislike and I will split this review up in sections. - Accommodation: clean, very spacious, and with lots of storage space. Nice bathrooms with walk-in drench showers that provide instant hot water. Very large balcony, although quite empty, just a table and four chairs. Could use a deck chair or two. The rooms were also very brown. Maybe they could add a few potted plants to bring some green into the mix, or paint some green palm leaves on some walls. There is a large parking garage underneath each building which is quite handy if you decide to rent a car, as you don't have to leave it out in the sun. - Sleep quality: the lobby bar plays unnecessarily loud music every night (karaoke or bands) until 11:30pm or so, and if you are a light sleeper you can forget about falling asleep before that time. We were on the far end of block 7 and we could still hear every word of the songs. They should tone it down a notch for people (among whom many children) who want to sleep. We've also gotten some problems with some drunk tourists in the room above us who would play loud music from their balcony at 4am two nights in a row. We were not aware how to reach the reception from our room phone as this is not detailed anywhere (dial 99, apparently) so we had to get dressed and physically go to the reception to complain about this on the second night. This problem was then resolved by the security, but whether these guests just left or were thrown out, I cannot say. - Check-in/Check-out: we arrived in the morning and we could not check-in until 4pm. We kind of expected this and were prepared for this but it was still a bit inconvenient with a baby in tow. There is a locked luggage room where you can leave baggage. Before check-in and after check-out. We also opted to pay extra to have a late check-out at 4pm (20 euro/hour), however we were dismayed to notice that our keycards had already been deactivated at 11am on our last day. The reception quickly fixed this but their documentation seemed disorganized. - Pools: there are three pool areas, each with three or four round pools of various depths. There's a ~30cm deep pool for infants in each area. The pools use black tiles, so the pools heat up faster from the sun, but it nonetheless makes them look quite uninviting. The main pools by the restaurants and bar was always very loud and busy. If you want a more quiet experience I'd suggest sitting at one of the other pool areas. Early May is probably still the off-season so there were plenty of sun loungers, even late in the afternoon. The sun umbrellas however looked unmaintained and quite a few of them were straight up broken (wouldn't stay up, or upright). This was not a huge problem as there are still lots and lots of palm trees to provide shade. What the pool areas do lack is

Me and the wife came here for 4 days and overall wasn’t impressed. The rooms were spacious with massive balcony space and room service was great with cleaning the room and stocking up cold water for you. The bars and restaurants served everything in plastic cups which is understandable being you are surrounded by pools. The mixed drinks are a gamble, you either get a well mixed drink or dumping it out and getting a different one. The food here is awful and would rather eat at a McDonald’s every night but, unfortunately there isn’t any other accommodations within walking distance to this resort which leaves you paying for an Uber or taxi to the nearest town.
