Kyoto Granbell Hotel

It was so near to the train station and bus station, everywhere was so accessible within walking distance.

I had a wonderful stay at the Kyoto Grandbell Hotel. The staff were incredibly polite and helpful — they truly went above and beyond. We needed to send our luggage to Tokyo, and they handled everything smoothly at the front desk; we paid directly at the hotel and our bags arrived safely to Tokio. Highly recommend this service! The hotel itself is beautiful, with a stylish and modern interior. The room was compact (as expected in Japan), but featured a huge, comfortable bed and a stunning full-wall window with a lovely view. Breakfast was good — a great variety of both Japanese and Western dishes, all very delicious. There's also a coin laundry and a nice bar on-site. The location is perfect, close to bus stops and within walking distance of major sights. Considering everything, the price was very reasonable — around $70 per night. Excellent value for money. Highly recommended!

Amazing hotel, location is perfect as major attractions is accessible by foot. Breakfast was good also, hotel room spacious enough and very beautiful!

We wanted a hotel in Gion with a public bath/onsen and Kyoto Granbell fit the bill. Originally we booked a moderate twin 18m2 but I was worried it would be too small so we upgraded to the Japanese twin 22sq meters and it was exactly what we wanted. The room was spacious and felt very comfortable. We had enough room to spread out and it feel like we were on top of each other. The lobby area is great with free coffee and snacks & wifi. We didn’t do breakfast but it looked good. I used the onsen every day and it was great! Fully stocked with shampoo, lotion, q tips, cotton pads, water station. Small but functions and very beautiful. The location was the best! Two doors down from En en for great Gyoza, 5 min walk to Hiniku to come, around the block from Pizza Stada, and a couple blocks from the bus station & the Main Street in Gion. Staff were lovely & spoke pretty good English. Comparable to Coutryard Marriott. Highly recommend. Would stay again.

Very good location and excellent facilities.  Rooms are very clean & got fresh towels daily. Didn’t have their breakfast so can’t comment.  Had a great public bath that was open until 1 am. Which was great to soak in after lots of walking. And people with tattoos accepted. The only negative is there wasn’t any shelf space to put things when you’re travelling or hanging space for robes, towels or clothes.

The room was clean and spacious, great location and great breakfast. It's in a great location close to the stations that makes it easy to get to inari shirne, and other sites of interest as well.
