The Monoah is a stunning hotel right on the best beach in Anguilla. We loved the oversized balcony, oversized bathroom and oversized room with so many views and so many windows! We also loved the service, and selection of food and delicious food in their open air restaurant/bar overlooking the Caribbean. The pool is gorgeous and the complimentary music from Omari Banks on Thursday was such a treat. The continental breakfast is a great way to begin each day, and Shauna at the bar/restaurant is a treasure!

As Shoal Bay villas were fully booked we decided to try the Manoah next door as we knew the location well (in my opinion one of the best beaches in the world). However, we found it almost impossible to contact the hotel with no responses to our emails so we used ******* in the end and hoped for the best. It turned out that the hotel has been having some problems with their reservations so persevere - it’s worth it. We were travelling with our teenage son and had booked a suite in the taller block but were upgraded to two connecting double rooms with a living space in between. The rooms are ENORMOUS (almost too big!), clean, and the block we were in had a balcony running the length of the three rooms with stunning views across the ocean. The decor is a little quirky - mirrors and mirrored surfaces everywhere - but as I wasnt the one having to clean them didnt bother me! The pool is a good size and was often empty with options of loungers or cabins. Unfortunately very little shade in the afternoon. Beach is literally on the doorstep with many reefs just beyond the shore so wonderful if you enjoy snorkelling. The buildings have gardens to the side which attract hummingbirds! We had a couple of lunches and one evening meal (with music from Omari Banks) at the hotel - which were good but so many fantastic options on the island to try. The continental breakfast included with the room was perfect for our needs with fresh croissants (the almond ones were divine) and pots of coffee. They also have a small selection of yoghurts/fruit/cereal and juice. We didnt order breakfast items from the menu so I can’t comment on those. The staff were wonderful - friendly, helpful and courteous. If you’re looking to stay on Shoal bay I can highly recommend the Manoah - it really is fantastic value

My wife and I are here now in Shoal Bay. Went to this resorts restaurant. We were there at 6:30pm and were worried because we were the only ones there. Started with a bottle of water and guacamole and chips. Found out water is $7. Won’t do that again. Chips and guac were good. I ordered the tuna steak and wife got the shrimp. I fell asleep waiting for it to come. 45 minutes. Asked for no onions and the tuna was covered with onions. Fish was dry and no flavor. Wife’s shrimp was dust okay. Waited another 10 minutes for check. Once was enough. Don’t waist your time we heard from others same problems. There are to many better restaurants on this beach. Server was nice but felt sorry for him because no one else came here.

The manoah is a beautiful property, with professional, welcoming staff on a slice of paradise. I would ignore the negative reviews! Clean rooms, well maintained property, great service and good food. The drinks were amazing!!! My wife liked the manoah style rum punch while walking through the crystal blue water. This hotel is stunning, the beach is unreal and the staff are kind, eager and friendly. So welcoming and the service was 5 star. Thank you to Barbara and her team. We will be returning as it’s one of the very BEST hotels in the Carribean. You will be beyond satisfied with this hotel. Thank you Barbara and team!!! 5+++ stars!!!

Very spacious, clean suite, right on the beach. Huge bathroom -shower area. The staff was friendly and helpful. Drinks at bar delicious. Pool is beautiful. Breakfast staff very kind and fresh picked mint tea provided every morning. Full Breakfast meals can be purchased and are very good. Continental breakfast provided with room - fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal and delicious warm croissants . Restaurant is right on the beach, but Dinners need improvement - food was delivered warm/cold.

READ these reviews carefully before booking here. Most people will say the beach is amazing (which it is) but the hotel is NOT. You can go to the same beach and rent a chair and umbrella while staying elsewhere - and saving a whole lot of money!!!! After my email to Barbara, the manager, went ignored, I am resorting to a review online. I concur with many reviews here saying the beds are very hard & uncomfortable. The breakfast waitress during the week was rude and put out by having to bring us coffee - everything else was self-serve continental. There were a couple of pleasant people on staff but Barbara, the Manager of the resort was not among them. When we went to the office to ask for help one night (because after three requests for a telephone in our room with no avail, we had to go downstairs to ask for anything), Barbara was on duty, she saw us in the empty office waiting, and walked the other way. We saw her walk away. Only after walking to the bar and getting the bartender involved did she arrive and help us, clearly aggravated. The island is lovely and there are LOTS of other options. Save yourself money and stay elsewhere. Hopefully the owners read the reviews and remedy the weak links, because the management is really lacking.

From the moment we arrived we did not feel a warm, friendly welcome whatsoever. Without even being greeted, the lobby staff asked us for taxi payment even though I had an email from the manager stating that this was a complimentary service from the port. Aside from the outstanding view from our room we had many issues: our shower was dirty upon checkin (had hair in it and was never cleaned during our entire stay), towels were minimal (2), the phone to call down to the concierge didn’t work, but most importantly the bed - my god the bed. Being pregnant I need to be comfortable, the bed felt like you were literally sleeping on a park bench. Hard is an understatement. Upon complaining, it was very obvious that this is a common complaint and so they sent up a comforter to lay down on the mattress, oh but that was before they recommended to FLIP THE MATTRESS??! Needless to say that it was a TERRIBLE week of sleep! Breakfast was awful. We could not believe that the croissants were rock hard every single morning and the fruit was brown most mornings or looked like someone had already eaten parts of it. Shoutout to Dave though who was the ONLY friendly and pleasant staff member we came into contact with. The spa, if you want to call it that, is a dark, weird room with a single spa bed in it. Not at all luxurious or made us want to spend any money on services. We were much happier giving all of our time and money to Zemi that had a proper spa experience. We actually ended up spending most of our time at Zemi, down the beach - MUCH better experience. The staff, the food, the ambience is just a world's difference. Do yourself the favor and spend the extra money to stay at Zemi!

DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS OR OWNER! We were just informed that our CONFIRMED reservation was cancelled out of the blue, 1 week prior to our stay. This has been confirmed since September of 2023 and we purchased 2k in airfare. The owner does not care and does not offer any help or support. We were supposed to check in NEXT WEEK and we just got an email saying our reservation has been cancelled even though I have a confirmation from the property. I confirmed the reservation last week and was told we were "all set for arrival" and then yesterday out of the blue an email saying it was cancelled. The owner and management could care less and will not respond to emails. I am so upset and hope this review will help others to avoid. I read some others saying the staff was treated poorly by the owner and the owner was "cheap" but now I too am seeing his true colors. This is NOT how you do business!

We had a fantastic stay at The Manoah. Our first trip to Anguilla, we thoroughly enjoyed our time on peaceful Shoal Bay East. There were so many times we had the entire beach to ourselves, enjoying a bottle of rose on the beach, watching the sunset. We stayed in the Liz building, which we highly recommend as others have. We stayed in two different rooms on the third floor, which we knew about in advanced, and they were stunning! Some people had comments about the beds, but they were fine. Not Westin Heavenly Beds, but they were comfortable. The bathroom was huge, and while we brought out own shower chair and other accommodations, it worked well for my wife who has a manual wheelchair. Every morning I would use the tray from our room to bring the continental breakfast to our room and enjoyed on our spacious balcony. As others have mentioned, it's basic but included. The croissants were always fresh, there was fresh cut pineapple, mango, and cantaloupe every day. One day there was delicious banana bread. Cereal, Toast an some other fruit round things off. We're not huge breakfast eaters, so it was adequate. They were always happy to give us a pot of coffee to take to the room as well. We spent each day on one of the best beaches in the world. While there is a lovely pool, we spent as much time in the ocean as we could. The beach staff were perfectly attentive. The cushions that hotel places over the lounges are super comfortable, and the beach towels are very thick and comfortable. I'm usually more of a multiple towel hoarder, but it really wasn't necessary. The chef and staff of the hotel restaurant do a great job. We had our first meal of the trip there, where we met the lovely Shauna for the first time, who was an angel our entire stay. We had lunch another day, but there are also some great nearby food selections. Next door is Maderiaman's with a great bar and a super delicious Seared Tuna Club Sandwich and a awesome Lobster Pizza. Olas Tacos had great bites and incredible Margaritas. A short drive away is the incredible lobster at Falcon Nest and delicious French food at Ben's Pit Stop. Gwen's Reggae Cafe is also just down the beach, but we never made it there. The resort is 20-30 minutes away from the happening West End. We didn't rent a car, but were introduced to a nice man named Peter who became our private driver for the week. While we missed out on Blanchard's, we did make it to Straw Hat, which was lovely. We took in the sunset at the Four Seasons at the Sunset Lounge and Salt on our last day, and had a lovely time. At dinner, we kept saying we made the BEST decision to stay at The Manoah and Shoal Bay East in contrast to the hustle and bustle at the Four Seasons. A few years back we stayed at another boutique hotel of similar size, with small but lovely staff in Turks and Caicos on Grace Bay. While we loved that similar experience, we really feel Anguilla has trumped that experience. The Manoah, Shoal
