We stayed for 2 weeks and enjoyed our stay at the hotel. It was our 5th time to Santorini. The hotel was lovely, really clean and staff were very pleasant. We stayed in a beachfront room and the room was great, however I do think some improvements could be made. For example, theres no where to dry your swimsuits/towels - the balcony is so big that I think they could put a dryer out there. There is hardly any storage in the room and the full length mirror is on the wardrobe door next to the entrance door so we could not see ourselves properly. I also had to hang my dresses on the the curtain poles as the wardrobe was too short to put them in. Breakfast was ok, comparing it to other 5 star hotels we have stayed in it was not a 5 star breakfast - coffee whilst nice from the machine but should have been served to you. Water was always flavoured too which I did not like. However all foods we sampled at breakfast were lovely. We ate at the restaurant a few times for lunch and the food was great value and delicious. Cocktails were €15 and made very well. Coke was €4 a can. There is a QR code on the sunlounger tables showing the pool menu - personally I found this totally pointless as you still had to get up and order your drinks/food at the bar - sometimes they would bring drinks to your lounger sometimes we had to take our drinks ourselves. I think for 5 star hotel they should invest in the app/QR code and allow the guest to order from their sunlounger, as we have experienced in other resorts. The sunloungers are extremely low to the ground so if you have mobility issues then you will struggle to get up off them - the beach beds are even lower to the ground than the pool ones. The sea is unusable - it is so slippery that even with beach shoes you will struggle to get out. I think the hotel should seriously think about putting a jetty so guests can enjoy the lovely water.

Santorini Kastelli Resort

We just stayed at this resort for our 5th year anniversary and this is what I have to say: Arrival Upon arrival we were picked up by mini caddy from the gate of the resort and driven to the reception which I thought was thoughtful after we've had a long flight and was quite tired. (they literally took our luggage from us straight to our bedrooms at this point). We were quickly greeted with a nice cold drink to cool off and given a brief tour of the facility. So first impression was first class. Customer service Everyone in the hotel was very nice (not a cliche: they really were). Dimitrios (front desk) gave us exceptional tips before we arrived and a very beffiting welcome surprise. Sabrina (from front desk) went over and above to ensure my wife and I had a pleasant and enjoyable stay with her amazing picture taking skills. Dimitra (from restaurant) did a fantastic job with teaching us one or two Greek words at breakfast every morning. (Breakfast was amazing btw) A few places we've been, you can tell staff are being nice because of a potential tip, but it felt different here. In my opinion staff at Kastelli resort are just genuinely nice and understand how to treat customers. Accessibility to restaurants. This resort is about 20 mins from the town centre, however, the back door of the resort leads to a beach with A LOT of restaurant options. (really didn't feel like we had to go the town centre, although we eventually did) Pool side and relaxation We really really really Loved the pool side amenities. They have 3 separate pools. A large pool, a medium sized pool and a decent -sized jacuzzi.. Really didn't feel like we had to go the beach side with their pool facilities to be honest. The sun hits you well, music is great, you order your drink and they bring it to the side of your sunbed. Room for improvement. All the English speaking TV stations are news to channels (the movies or drama) but who wants to watch TV when you've got amazing amenities and free WiFi.

The stay at this hotel was pretty disappointing. When we walked into the breakfast room for the first time I said hi to a guy working there. He barely responded to me, to the extend that I thought he might have been a guest like us, but he wasn’t. When we asked for a high chair, we were answered by the waitress :”Take it”. I don’t know if she was trying to put us on ease or she just wanted to do less, but there were things on top of the high chair she pointed out and I would not want to move stuff in a work place that is not mine. We used the pool for the majority of the time. My hair and bikini turned green! Also the ones from my family. When I showed my bikini to the receptionist, I was told it’s normal. Everything is fine with the pool, and I should expect these things to happen because of the chemicals they put in. REALLY?! We never had this happening in any other pool before. I did tell them I was going to do a negative review and I wanted to discuss this with them first, but clearly I was the mad one and none else had complained about swimming costumes turning green. I was told it is in my rights to do it. It has taken me a lot of effort to get my normal hair color back and manage to wash off the green color from the swimming costumes. When I did my research online, very worryingly read that clothes turn green because there is an excess of copper in the water and the water of the pool doesn’t get changed often enough. This is very scary. A positive note to end. The guy working at the pool is a real star. He is the sweetest man. Gave presents to our children and tried to accommodate us in everything he could. Pity for everything else.

Our flight from Athens took off at around 9 pm and we arrived at Santorini at around 10 pm. Since we arrived so late we had to take a taxi to Castro Hotel. When we arrived at the hotel, it was already lights off but nevertheless there was someone to check us in and show us our room. The double room with view we booked was a simple but nice room although a bit small. The room and bathroom were quite clean. The hotel as a whole is very nicely designed and maintained. Breakfast was provided and we quite like the offering. The dumpling made with rice and wrapped with grape leaf tasted very good. It was made by the owner’s wife. The beach is not far away and is a very pleasant walk going there and back. The bus stop is within walking distance, you go out of the gate, turn left and left again and go straight and it is at the Alpha Bank ATM as shown in this website’s location map.

What a little gem of a place. Had a bit of an issue with the room we were initially given and it was changed with now issues at all. Staff very friendly. Lovely relaxed atmosphere. So much nicer staying in this family run hotel vs some of the bigger more corporate set ups. A kettle in the room would have been nice but hey ho #firstworldproblems. Would definitely return to this wonderful little haven in the santorini sun. Very clean. Lovely breakfast. Rooms refreshed daily.

The environment is good, suitable for holiday and leisure living, and the sanitary conditions are good. The hotel is located on Kamari Beach, only two minutes' walk. There are many restaurants nearby, and there is a Chinese restaurant close by. The point is that the hotel owner is a cute old man, free of charge Sending off the airport, I also gave a gift with the seal of Santorini before I left. I was very touched and liked it very much.

Very nice room overlooking the pool, in fact just like the photograph - big and airy, muted colours, quite good storage and a very comfortable bed. We did have a few issues when we arrived, such as a broken toilet seat and a stained sheet on the bed - these were rectified very quickly when reported but really, housekeeping should have picked up on both beforehand. Towels were white and fluffy and like the sheets, changed regularly without us having to ask. A few improvements could be made - a hook for the hand towel and a proper hairdryer rather than the tube blowing hot air, for example. And who thought it was a good idea to put the safe at knee height right at the back of a cupboard. It is a very nicely designed hotel - most rooms look onto the pool which is a very attractive area. All sun beds were reserved by 8.30 although to be fair, most were occupied after breakfast. The pool is lovely although it would be even nicer if, like other hotels, inflatable toys were not allowed. On some occasions, it wasn’t possible to get in due to various shaped inflatables and noisy children/adults in the water - not the hotel’s fault particularly, but there were several groups of people there during our stay and they took over the pool/bar area. At breakfast time, some of them thought it was fine to walk in wearing just swimwear and bare feet - most hotels do not allow this. On the subject of breakfast, the paper napkins and table mats had a most peculiar smell not unlike manure - has no one else noticed this. The hotel is very near to the airport and planes come in low every day, making a lot of noise, but this didn’t bother us and we never got tired of watching them. The mini market behind the hotel sells virtually everything - very handy - and we hired a car from the place just along from the mini market for a reasonable rate. The resort itself is very nice with a long promenade and some very nice shops both along the promenade and in the street leading up from it. Something that did become slightly annoying on the promenade was running the gauntlet of the restaurant and bar staff who accosted us constantly, but I realise they are only doing their job. The beach. If you want a beach holiday, this is not the place. The beach is a disaster and those calling it beautiful must have gone to a different beach. It’s classed as pebble but it’s all sizes from shingle to pebbles to small boulders, and trying to get in the sea is all but impossible due to slippery and uneven rocks, even with beach shoes. Watching people trying to get in became a spectator sport for us. On top of that, the sea was extremely rough while we were there, making it even more dangerous. Disaster. Perhaps that’s why so many fellow guests stayed around the pool. Even the fact that most restaurants let you use their sun beds for free does not make it less of a disaster. Overall, a very nice hotel in a good location, and one we would stay in again if it were not for the beach.

Rosebay was an nice hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful, it is clean, good location (like 50 meters from the beach), nice pool area and overall environment, good gym and breakfast is ok. BUT, there is two problems that we cannot ignore. Many of the guests either go to the pool area in the middle of the night or wake up super early to ”reserve” the sunbeds. When breakfast starts at 7.30 am almost all the sunbeds were reserved 6 of 7 days of our stay. So we only had one day by the hotel pool (and we are not people who sleep in). And the area is not made for much more beds than there already are so we really recommend that the hotel starts with a ”no reservation policy”. The towels just laid there for hours and no one used them, such a waste. On our one pool day we saw a woman (with help from the staff) take away a hotel towel from a sunbed that had not been used for at least an hour. A while later the people that previously was using the bed got back and there actually was a huge fight over this. So, a ”no reservation policy” is a must here. And a second thing that unfortunatley drags down the score is the noice from the airplanes that lands on the airport that is very close by. We read that the planes does not land at night, but they do. And it is extremley loud. You have to be a very very heavy sleeper to not notice the sound. Even with earplugs (that the hotel does not provide) we woke up several times a night. This we imagine goes for all the hotels in this area tho. All and all a good hotel (we really liked the staff!) but som adjustments is recuired regarding pool area and sound profing.
