My now husband and I chose to stay here for our wedding weekend, and we couldn't have chosen a more romantic and charming place. The hotel was absolutely gorgeous and the staff were incredibly kind and attentive. We arrived (without warning) with several crates worth of wedding-related supplies, and their staff helped us bring it all up to our room. The rooms themselves are gorgeous and unique. Our room came with an amazing soaking tub that we enjoyed the morning of our wedding and best smelling toiletries we've ever found at a hotel. Despite the level of excitement we felt for our wedding we slept beautifully. The handsome writing desk was the perfect spot for us to write our thank you notes to our wedding vendors. Not sure why some reviews claim there isn't a breakfast? While the breakfast doesn't include hot items, the selection was great and of very high quality - fresh fruit, sandwiches, coffee, pastries, and we left happy and full. We look forward to returning for our anniversary someday!

The Hotel Castro is amazing. I live down the street but need a getaway from time to time. It's perfect for me. Access is easy. Location is great. The rooms are beautiful and equipped. Good value for money, there are not many homeless people nearby, and a boy doesn’t feel unsafe to stay by himself. There is a microwave oven, a separate bathroom, and the curtains are not very tight. It will wake up in the sun in the morning, so bring a blindfold to solve it. recommend
