The Westin St. Francis San Francisco on Union Square

I had a lovely stay at the Westin St Francis. The check in process was quick and pleasant. The Bevi water refill machines at the lobby provides flavored and sparkling water on demand, it was such a lovely perk. The historical hotel is nicely maintained and the guest room was very comfortable. I had an enjoyable stay in San Francisco.

A classic hotel in a prime location. The issue is that the hotel shows its age when you stay in the towers. Although it's livable, it's disturbing to see the toilet flush brown on the first two uses. Service at the front desk is not my preference because they like to engage in a lot of small talk and I was tired, but some will like that. The destination fee is a bit of a ripoff because they have weird stipulations about when you can use the daily credits and it's not cumulative even though you stayed multiple nights. I lost a day due to that. Couldn't get the wi-fi working for free without the Bonvoy thing either. Due note: do to renovations you have to enter from the south entrance and taxis pick-up on the main entrance on the eastern side.

Great location. Staff very friendly and courteous with good memory to remember guests.

Rooms are a bit dated but overall large. You have to ask the concierge each day to get the $10 uber voucher sent to your phone. FedEx on site in the hotel. Gym is excellent with 2 cable machines, many cardio machines, leg abductor/adductor, chest press, shoulder press, row machines, and free weights up to 60 lbs.

The location and the hotel was great. The service, staff attitude was quite bad
